FRIDAY NIGHT TRIVIA, SEPTEMBER 11, 2020
Today marks the 19th Anniversary of the direct attack on us as a nation. It is a day of Service and Remembrance. May we pause to reflect on this day of the almost 3,000 lives lost, the first responders and to those who continually defend our freedom. May this day bring peace, unity, and a vision for a stronger future.
Hope you are all ready for Trivia. For the newcomers, the questions can be found in the Rewards Store within the Arcade. Questions begin between 8 pm and 8:05 pm EST. depending upon your computer clock. There are six questions during the game. The last question is posted between 10:30 pm and 10:35 pm EST. Again, depending upon your computer clock. Each question lasts approximately 30 minutes, so you will need to come up with the correct response within that time frame. If you answer incorrectly, you will see a red “OOPS.” The incorrect response will not count against you unless the time is up. Each correct answer is worth 200 tickets to use in the Rewards Store against the Featured or Current Sweepstakes. So, before you tear your hair out, before you give up, just return to this thread where one or more of us will be able to help. Also, join us in light conversation, ideas or whatever and LET THE FUN BEGIN…. 🙂

Yeah, I also went to: itfreezes, LOL
Y’all stay safe and have a good week and let’s do this again next week! 😀❤️ -
My late arrival! Just finished a salad…was going to make that about an hour ago, step into the kitchen and ANTS. About a gazillion of them! They must have came really fast because they weren’t there a while before. One dish on the counter had a tiny bite of lunch in it and they were all over it. We have a horrid problem here with ants. First sprayed with the No More Bugs (kills them instantly) but had to break out the Raid (red can) and spray a top corner of the window in front of the sink. Yuk…hate the ants but hate spraying that stuff in the house. My project today was cleaning up ASH. I haven’t had windows open since Wednesday evening but started noticing little white pieces on every single surface. So was vacuuming with my Shark Rocket and attachments to try and clean as many surfaces as possible. I won’t open any windows for some time…didn’t walk last night or today because of what is in the air. Have been watching NBA playoffs and baseball till I’m numb. Needless to say, totally disgusted that the LA Clippers blew their game tonight…next chance for them to move on, Sunday. And the LA Angels are hot & cold…had a nice 5 game win streak. The Specturm tv, phone and internet are all working well and am currently saving about 75 a month over what I had (which was pretty substand). The Fire tablet is also working well overall for my needs. “Almost” got the 10 inch when the free shipping deal was offered but decided it wasn’t critical right now. I did however get a Comfy sweatshirt, some Periea 4 piece storage and the Who Knew household hints book when the shipping was free on H and Q. And then there was the 2 piece NFL t-shirt thing…got the Rams…even though I HATE their new logo and colors. 🙂

I am enjoying Spectrum. They are customer friendly. Wish I could bring them to New England and get rid of Comcast. I finally had to shut everything down with Comcast. We will get a new phone number, but, that’s OK. I had contacted Comcast about a month prior to when we were supposed to come off the seasonal rate to extend it to the end of July because of the virus. In July I tried to extend it to September. So what happened. They turned us on around May 22nd and we received a huge bill. The person I spoke with said I didn’t have to pay it and everything would work out and then extended us until September 22nd. But, that ended up not working either. Come to find out, we were not entitled to the extra time on seasonal even with the pandemic. From what I have heard about Spectrum, they have a 9 month period for seasonal, however, because of the pandemic it could be extended. Go figure.
I enjoy my Fire 10″ and hoping that they will have a new one out for either Prime day or for Black Friday/Cyber Week. I love doing the jigsaw puzzles and read the news. By the way, they may offer you a free year of the Washington Post. And their magazine deals are pretty good. I’m doing the “Reader’s Digest and Reminsce.” They will probably have a sale on Prime Day whenever that will be.
We miss you in Trivia. Guess Retirement makes you too busy to drop in to say hello. Or, is it the sports. Whatever the reason, just letting you know you are missed. Drop in even after Trivia to say hello anytime.

I also took advantage of the free shipping days on the H and the Q, and bought some more of the Periea storage–I love those; they fit well on my Origami large shelves.
It’s so weird keeping the doors and windows closed at this time of year, but when you can smell the smoke, then you have no choice. At least there are basketball playoffs and baseball to distract you. I watched the Chiefs/Texans game last night and it turned out to be pretty good. I am so thankful that the Superbowl got to air before the world became so complicated.
I have a partial solution to the ant problems: after you have gotten rid of the source, the current ants and all that, instead of spraying the Raid or whatever toxic to prevent further invasions, what I do is sprinkle and smear Comet, Ajax or whatever around the same areas and it seems to dissuade them from coming back. They basically just need a non-invitation: “it is unpleasant here and there is no food for you.” I tend to get a sudden invasion now and then when the temperatures go really high, and that approach always takes care of it and I don’t have to smell that awful lingering spray-smell.

Rosatowwen, I have the same problem in the Northeast. I wonder if it would dissuade the carpenter ants. Up until last November I was putting buttons down outside. Those seemed to work, but then again, who knows. But, that idea would certainly work on Cape. We get the tiny ones indoors. Have no idea where they come from. Sometimes I wonder if we bring them in on our shoes since that home has quite a bit of sand around. Will give it a try when we return.

That’s horrible customer service on Comcast’s part. I had Verizon and they somewhat bullied my husband into signing a contract which I found out after he died. I couldn’t wait for that to expire and when it did, I went straight to Spectrum and they have been fine–definitely cheaper by at least 50%.
The ants that invaded suddenly were also tiny little ones. From what I could tell, they seemed to come from the kitchen plumbing. I am often running water there, with dishes and food prep, so I think it was the other side, non-disposal side. When I see them, I just scrub down with Ajax and salt and make the area unpleasant. Anyway, I’ve seen how organized ants are–they are great communicators, so the scouts will tell the others not to come and I don’t have to clean up lots of dead ants. 😀
I hope your week is a nice one, take care, Oodiebom. ❤️

Goodnight Oodiebom and all Trivia Players please stay safe. 😘

That last question was a total surprise. No two words that are usually separate, but for the trivia game they come together as one word. Goes to show that miracles do happen when you least expect it.
Guess it’s that time when all good things come to an end. RosaTowwen, I hope those wildfires end soon. It will certainly bring a breath of fresh air. I wish you all a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead. Until next week, when we meet at the same time, same place goodnight. Pleasant dreams.

That sure will help. But with the two year old, you will have your hands full, I hope all goes well for her. Happy that hubby has a few days off to help. Please be careful going up those stairs to the house. No more falls.
-
I’m sorry to say, I had another fall 3 days ago. Darn steps?! I busted open my elbow on the left side this time. We are getting bids to do the work Monday, but it will be October before they install the new 3 x 3 platform and stairs. I’m more worried about my daughter getting in the house after her surgery. Prayers all goes well👩🏻🦰😇🙏🏻
