FRIDAY NIGHT TRIVIA, APRIL 10, 2020
It’s Friday Night. You all know what that means. TRIVIA TIME!! Good Evening Everyone. Hopefully, we are all well and if not, on the mend. For some you have been glued to the TV and for others looking for something to do other than the news. Well, tonight we will have conversation and maybe for a couple of hours get our minds set to having some fun. For the newcomers, the questions can be found in the Rewards Store within the Arcade. Questions begin between 8 pm and 8:05 pm EST. depending upon your computer clock. There are six questions during the game. The last question is posted between 10:30 pm and 10:35 pm EST. Again, depending upon your computer clock. Each question lasts approximately 30 minutes, so you will need to come up with the correct response within that time frame. If you answer incorrectly, you will see a red “OOPS.” The incorrect response will not count against you unless the time is up. Each correct answer is worth 200 tickets to use in the Rewards Store against the Featured or Current Sweepstakes. So, before you tear your hair out, before you give up, just return to this thread where one or more of us will be able to help. Also, join us in light conversation, ideas or whatever and LET THE FUN BEGIN….:)

SO…I didn’t even get out of the shower (TMI) until the games began and then went straight to the kitchen to get food ready for tomorrow. UGH! I’m gonna fly (work one leg and then ride back as passengers). Both flights are very light loads (about 35 total each way), so on the way home can sequester myself way in the back. I will be wearing a mask tomorrow…company finally got some in but they are not mandatory for crew or passengers (I think that is a mistake). I am going to put in for a leave for the remainder of April plus May & June. It will be a financial hit but I think it is too dangerous to stay because 1.) I’m old and 2.) I have blood pressure (controlled well but still).
There are a couple of worrisome dates…July 31 is when the supplemental $600/week additional federal unemployment runs out (for those taking unemployment) and the other is September 30, when the airlines who took federal monies (all of them!) can then furlough and/or cut wages. My personal gut feeling is that this is not going to return to any kind of normalcy for a LONG time, if ever. The only solution I can see is a vaccine. Hopefully there will be some improvement in treatment but that looks like it’s still a work in progress.

OODIEBOM, I sorry your cruise went the way it did. I am glad you and your husband came out of that situation and are now feeling better.
-
You are smart please stay safe. 🌹
-
I’ll update everyone next week.
-
Pipman you are right. Normal, the way it was before Covid 19 will be no more. It will take a very long time until a vaccine, and then testing.
-
xango Exactly. I think people best be getting that into their minds. Any talk of mass gatherings is just wrong. I’ve been saying that is just a wish to “cull the herd”. Ya, twisted but that is what I feel would/will happen to groups.

Well, pipman, here I sit, at the computer in Florida. I refuse, yes absolutely refuse to drive with hubby the 1300-1500 miles to our other home in the North (depending on our route). I became ill from an ice cold hotel room and a fan that was on full blast over the bed. The fan had no pulley and every switch I tried didn’t work on the fan. I could not find the remote either. So we slept with the fan on. Consequently I awoke to a sore throat which Manuka honey took care of. By the time we arrived to our ship and cruise the sore throat was gone. There was only a questionnaire. No one took temps or looked down our throat. Of course the passport backed us up. That night I had sweats like you wouldn’t believe. Absolutely drenched from head to toe. Didn’t feel well either. Wanted to see the ship’s doctor, but at that point knew if I went he would make us leave at the first port of call and fly home. I had no energy to repack, so we ate at the buffet for all meals and actually waited to go there about 15 minutes to a half hour prior to closing. We did that for two weeks. I was still sick when we left the ship. Hubby also took sick the day after me. Not a pretty sight. I wanted to go for the tests for the virus, but there were no stations set up. My fever finally went bye bye this past Monday. Energy level is coming back as well. After what we’ve been through I would not think of flying nor do I wish to stay overnight anywhere until there is definitely an all clear signal. Nor do I want to cruise either.

Yes oodiebom, stay put and stay well

OODIEBOM Wow…that sounds worse than when I saw you say that you were ill. I really do think that more people were getting it than is known. I’ve talked to several flight attendants (and really know one) that were almost deathly ill with “flu” back in January and into February. Of course, they were at the time, blown off my their doctors thinking it was just flu…there was even tightness of the chest and coughing, along with the aches and fever. The antibody testing will be really interesting, once it gets moving. California is setting up testing now as a trial. There are 6 undisclosed stations in Los Angeles and there are (I think) 1000 that they will test…sort of a random test but people did have to sign up.
-
How absolutely scary. I’m so glad you are recovering nicely.
I had been doing drive-up @ Target until recently. Now they are only selling some things in store only. TG for Andrew’s oatmeal & Secure.

HEy pitman! I think you are absolutely right about masks in airplanes, it should be mandatory with the recycled air on those planes. Happy Good Friday and Easter 🐣 stay safe & hopefully we will get that vaccine! God bless you 😇
-
samslilangel I will do my best…mask, gloves (if I touch anything) and sanitizer. Last time I flew, we locked one of the lav doors open, so that it could be used for hand-washing only and no one had to touch the door when going in or out. I plan on doing that again tomorrow!

Is the GOTW scoring differently on mobile? I just won 2 games in a row, got the multipliers quickly and only scored 70-89,000?
-
As you know…I do not play those games….I am really bad at them…lol
-
Yeah, sure. And Aesop wrote other fables……….
-
It’s true!!! admit I do play some games fairly well but not those Mahjongg games….I am really bad.
-
velve, seems that happens to me also. I do better with Kindle than the computer.

Pipman,My sis is still working at Alaska w/😷 and gloves.I was hoping she would take a leave, like you had mentioned.I pray for her and all essential workers🙇
-
Hey ddshoppy… Well, as you may see above, I am going to take a leave. It’s a special paid leave for those meeting certain CDC items for putting people at risk. We don’t even have to identify the issue but if I needed to, I would use blood pressure. You can tell your sister two things…this leave is paid at 65 flight hours BUT I still have to cover my portion of insurance…this keeps me listed as an “active” employee. Our other leaves are 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12 month…you go on unemployment and the company pays ALL of your insurance portion. So, kind of a toss up. There is no lose of seniority but I’m sure there will be some kind of “coming back” mess to work out…right not the priority is to get people out. So far, over half of our flight attendants have taken some form of leave and I am sure that number will be bigger after they process additional requests which are due on Monday.
-
dds I am glad that everyone is doing OK. Hubby and I are home buddies as well. We do grocery shopping every couple of weeks unless there is something on sale that we desperately need or want. Finally got our lanai looking good and now can work inside our home. At least we have a place to escape to. We will remain in Florida until there is an “all clear.” And if we remain here, no big deal. Health is so very important and I rather be safe than sorry. I wish everyone in your family good health and may they remain out of harms way.
-
I had to look up the word Lanai..had not heard that term before lol ..now I see a screened in patio?
-
dds, A few years ago I had to do the same. Seems the word Lanai may have started in Hawaii, but not sure. Yes, our patio is screened in. Better that way since we overlook a man made lake which I call a small puddle. It’s about a 100 acres worth. The screen helps to keep the critters out. Up until yesterday it looked awful. So I went out, cleared the mess, swept and made an outdoor den with our wicker furniture, a couple of lamps and a small squared table with chairs around it. I decided to put wicker baskets on the walls (actually it is vinyl siding) so if I need it I can find it. LOL
-
Sounds wonderful to me. I woke up to snow yesterday. It makes the isolation worse for me.
-
Thats funny,at my boyfriends house(now my hubby) lol ..they had that very thing.Connected to the house,a screened in patio w/ door leading to the back yard.It kept out the bugs& such..it was so cozy!
