Flex Pay

I orderd a product from HSN and wanted to use the Flexpay option. They charged my card and I thought everything was ok. An hour later they send me an email saying my order was cancelled, of course im puzzled because I didnt cancel it and they authorized a payment. When I called to find out what happend,they couldnt give me a reason as to why just an apology and saying ill get a letter in the mail stating as to why. Heres my issue with this.

1. Whats the criteria for using the flexpay? as no credit check or any type of financial approval was asked prior to using it.

2. Why take a patrons money (aka authorize)if theres a chance you will deny the purchase? and if your answer is “we dont know if the flexpay option will be approved or not than it needs to be removed so you (HSN) have better control over how you want your customers to pay for their purchases, now you have my money going through the “pending to release stage”, which has been almost a week and im still waiting.

3. If you’ve authorized a payment that should be counted as the consumer has the funds to pay on the item as contractionally agreed.

    Unfortunately HSN won’t admit that, especially if your 1st purchase with HSN is for a big ticket item,i.e laptop, TV, game system, etc, and you want to use flex play, you have a higher rate of being denied since you haven’t provided “proof”, that you can afford ALL the flex payments. Not just the 1st one.

    HSN likes payment history,before you use flex pay. Unfortunately what HSN doesn’t realize is that especially at Christmas, they will be getting more traffic from new customers looking for a specific item, and to spread the money around for the holiday season, most likely would like to take advantage of flex pay.

    I apologize for this delayed response and the inconvenience the canceled orders are causing @qbisthe1. All of our items do have a disclaimer regarding FlexPays. FlexPay orders may be subject to credit verification by HSN and we may review the credit report. You can find this information by clicking the link with the question mark right above where you select FlexPays on the product page.

    I’ve sent an electronic request to your financial institution regarding the authorization on your account. The time frame as to when the funds will become available is dependent upon their release of funds process.
