Cricut changing their "free" software
When the Explore & Design Space came out Cricut was very vocal about allowing users to upload their own SVGs, PNGs etc. Now they plan on limiting the number of things you can upload to 20 per month unless you are an Access subscriber. I know many people have no use for the Cricut images and pretty much only use the machine to cut things they have designed themselves (in other software, which they must then upload) or they cut SVGs bought from other sites.
I have read that Cricut plans on going public and this is a money grab to make the company look as profitable as possible.
I have been a Cricut user for years, starting with an Expression and now have a Maker and Joy. I bought probably 200 cartridges. Mostly physical ones but also digital content through Design Space. Mostly I enjoy paper crafts, especially 3D stuff, and Cricut seems to not care about that anymore. Most of their Access images are very simple and are obviously meant to be cut on vinyl or HTV. I am so mad that I have so much money invested in them already.

Yes I hear a lot of people are angry about this. There is even a petition going around complaining about this. I don’t even like their software. I find it clunky and hard to use. I really don’t like any of their designs. you have to be online all the time where other programs you don’t. I actually sold my cricut on eBay and I’m thinking of getting a scan and cut. I tried silhouette but it wasn’t compatible with my very old 2013 computer for some reason. so I had to return it otherwise their software is really good and you only pay a one time fee.
