Craft Day (so sad)

I just don’t understand it. HSN no longer has $5 ships everything on Craft Day and they haven’t for awhile. This is the part I don’t understand is how they can have free shipping on the majority of beauty products yesterday (Craft Day) and today they have save $15 when you spend $75 using HSN card. They did nothing for Craft Day except 5 payments on your order, which can cause a lot of havoc in its own way, if you are someone who purchases crafts on a regular basis. They did finally reduce some of the prices this time but prior to this they didn’t reduce the prices until after the 30 day time frame so if the price went down you could not get an adjustment. There have been a lot of craft items reduced or placed on clearance because they did not sell (which I think was due to the initial high price and shipping costs). Check out Anna Griffin’s clearance items for a start. It seems like this is a big game to HSN. They can put other items on free shipping and they have even had everything ships free days but why no $5 ships everything on Craft Day? The hardest thing to handle is when the next days TSV (following Craft Day) is free shipping and everything else in that brand or category is also free shipping (yes it has happened). I could keep going but I won’t. I am sure HSN knows all about our concerns. I am trying to find my own solution by purchasing else where when possible. There are solutions that HSN could adopt to fix the problem.

HSN didn’t make a bad business decision. Items I saw still sold out at good speed, or most sold well. I was disappointed (tried to buy one item, which sold out before I checked out), but generally have not been buying craft supplies here for some months. I read a marketing study showing most women who craft in the U.S. have businesses (many have small businesses). You can see by the machine sales that HSN’s craft customers have substantial disposable income, and shipping costs don’t discourage them. We tend to look at ourselves and think most shoppers are like us when the big picture is different. I don’t make engineered cards that pop, slide or turn inside out. Flowers are useful but not the core of my work large or card sized, which aren’t for sale. So I view craft days not expecting anything for me, but watching out of curiosity for what others are doing. Once in a while I compare prices, and HSN’s are almost always significantly higher than other online dealers. Change your expectations and you won’t be disappointed. Use HSN as a reference point, not as your go-to store for crafts.

Hsn made a bad business decision when they took away the $5 shipping and are not big enough to admit that, and that it must have cost them a lot of orders. There are very few sellouts any more. I can buy anything, except Diamond Press, elsewhere for cheaper. with no shipping and sometimes no tax. They’ve lost by now many hundreds, if not thousands, from me alone. I don’t need anything. Liking and needing aren’t the same thing. The day before craft day all electronics had free shipping. I don’t watch hsn any more. I only watched their craft days anyway, nothing else, but that ended as soon as the $5 shipping ended. I rarely buy anything from hsn any more. They clearly don’t appreciate their customers judging by their actions. Anybody can say words, and their words are empty and meaningless. Thank you to hsn, though, for saving me a lot of money from not buying things I don’t need anyway.
