I hope you are able to get some rest today. Oodie Trivia was alright last night. I was surprised
at the low turn out remember we are only in the beginning phase of a new Trivia. I think things
will turn around. 🎈

Glad you bring great food to hubby and I hope the nurse will get better very hard to work
with that kind of pain I have done it in the past and it’s no walk in the park.

Hi. During Trivia I also had problems with Trivia. Instead of pictures I needed to listen to static and then someone saying something. This went on for many long minutes and finally I was able to hear the muffled voice. There was no way that a picture would show unless I was able to decipher what the person was saying. GEEZ🤨🙄😣 I agree with you. We have to start somewhere and we shall see what happens. I do have patience and will keep trying other avenues as well, though I do not have any ideas as yet. Many have left HSN for other places, that I do know from reading things in Community. People are not happy with the new decisions and only time will tell if the new game plan will actually bring in those who were not happy with the changes. I also find missing the scores is a bad idea. I still say the points we accrue should go towards purchasing something we like in the HSN store. I am positive that this would have given many an incentive to play the games as well as a win win for them. There are times that I think HSN wants to drive customers away. This may be one of them.

Yesterday I heard from our neighbor on the Cape. She was a bit distraught and wanted to let me know that her mom past last month. She was 98. I know she misses her mom. She was there every day preparing meals, keeping the house cleaned, doing laundry, etc.. I also mentioned how fortunate she was to enjoy her all these years. There are times that I pick up the phone to call them and just before dialing the number, realize that their home has someone else living there. Then I get the feeling that they do know and I smile and feel better.

I made it to the Farmer’s Market. I was an hour behind schedule, but talking to a friend who needed to vent was a good thing. I was able to pick up clam chowder and something new to try. They made their own smoked corned beef and they made a huge grinder with it. The corned beef had just been heated and that was one of the things I brought to hubby. I also found a small bowl of cut up fruit, the container with cubed watermelon, a small container of applesauce with no sugar added and some pluots. Oh yes, strawberries which hubby said later were absolutely sweet to the palate. I left both the watermelon and strawberries with a plastic fork and spoon for a midnight or early morning snack. He loved the grinder and I did pick up an Italian one as well for today (Sunday). I arrived at the Rehab about 6:15 pm. Hubby thought the worse and was happy to see me. His eyes lit up when he saw me approach the TV room and stood in t he doorway. He had already eaten his dinner. He left the bread. He said I spoiled the taste when I brought the homemade bread from the Farmer’s Market. He said it was a different flavor. I left him after 10 pm. I got engrossed with a book. The place had to be in the 60s. I was absolutely freezing and so was hubby. I brought him a jacket and another jacket for his legs. He was wearing shorts.

Well, now off to do some cleaning. I was given a name to call this afternoon to see if they are interested in giving me an extra pair of hands. The den area will be the first on my list to get it back to order and to get the TV out of a box and ready for cable. Soundbar also.

After ridding our home of rodents, I have decided to discard most of our pots and pans. I am starting from scratch. Guess I am too late for Wolfgang Puck’s set. I have tried everyplace I can think of to no avail. I can still purchase his non stick ones, but would rather have the Stainless Steel. I do have some All-Clad which I will keep.

Hope you three have a great Sunday. Temp here is in the mid 70s. Humidity is questionable since I haven’t stuck my bod out the door.

Thanks DEFG. For the most part the sets have a non stick finish and some of the prices are over and above what they go for either on sale or at Wolfgang’s web site. I am finding that the non stick starts to flake after a while. And the stainless steel can go into your dishwasher. I will wait and if it doesn’t happen, will continue with All-Clad.

I was referring to the Recaptcha in Trivia. At first I had the pictures and then for some reason it switched to voice where you had to listen for the person speaking and repeat what he/she said. There was so much static that you could not hear or verify what the person was singing or saying. I thought, maybe, it was due to the solar storm from the sun. It was horrific. For quite a while I could not post anything.

On another note, I do not shop at Aldi’s that often. It seems t heir fresh veggies and fruit do not last more than a day or two at most. I also had to return a dozen eggs because the white and yolk were stuck within the cardboard. Lately, the Farmer’s Mar ket has had good prices and the fruit is as fresh as the day it is picked. This goes for the veggies as well. Did I mention that the clam chowder was delicious and was still piping hot when I gave hubby a spoon and took the top off. It’s getting to the point that I don’t know if he enjoys my visits or just likes what I bring. LOL. He is like a little kid in a candy store.

We have two vehicles and I think he may be able to get into the second one. It rides closer to the ground. However, the bad knee is the left one, so still not really sure if it will be feasible. Time will tell.

Another brisk, dreary day, I think the sun popped out for two minutes. Next week is supposed to be nice. It will be in the 70s when sis gets back, she’ll be happy.😊

Long day at mom’s yesterday. Got home, ate dinner and fell asleep.😴 Hubs just left with a friend for a fight night at a nearby casino💪 so no cooking dinner. I think I will just have some soup and crackers.🥣

National cheesecake day?🍰 I am safe since I don’t have any, thank goodness! I also saw it is national apple day on your post.🍎 I did buy a few this morning so I can celebrate apples instead of cheesecake, what a trade-off.

I have started the thread for Trivia and now I am getting ready to make a stop at Costco for much needed water and anything else that looks good. On my way out will definitely pick up a hot dog and a salad. I also will fill up as I leave. Car gets hungry also.

We are both OK. Hubby became more alert when I arrived yesterday. I am trying desperately to get this house in order and thus far have not heard from anyone with an extra pair of hands. Maybe that is for the best since I do know what’s in the boxes and where they go. I am in the dining room area and have made a dent where everything is where it should be. Next step is to use Clean Boss and the Shark wand. I have to admit that having a cordless vacuum for the little things really helps since in some areas I am plugless. Most of all, my hands do not touch anything even when emptying..

I will see you tonight in Trivia from the Rehab. Looking forward to a little bit of relaxation. Oops. Almost forgot. I need to do some recharging of Kindle. See you soon.

Tonight was not easy. The nurse that helps hubby during the week was in tons of stomach pain that went up towards his chest. This is not the first time this occurred. He thought there was a blockage but I felt it was from lifting the patients from wheelchair to bed and vice versa. Hate tp see anyone not feeling well, but still able to work through the pain. He is funny also and gets hubby to smile and laugh. Tonight was not an easy thing for him and so I gave him an extra pair of hands. When I turned the covers back on the bed I noticed that it needed to be redone. The fitted bed sheet must have been put on in a hurry as the corners were not there. I decided to redo and at the same time fixed the mattress cover so there weren’t any wrinkles. He also was able to get hubby to move more. Tonight he was not a dead weight. This last is important because I cannot lift him. I tucked hubby in for the night. So sad leaving him. He tries very hard to get me to stay over,. No dice.

I am so sorry for that the nurse should take a few days off and get some medical attention.
The medical rehab should have someone with the same experience on staff or on call.

Feeling Guilty About Being Happy

Allow yourself to release feeling any guilt about being happy.

Happiness is an experience we all long for and deserve in our lives. We may wish for the happiness that comes with a much-needed vacation or an exciting new love affair, yet when the actual experience of happiness emerges, we may be too overcome with guilt to enjoy it. If guilt is interfering with your ability to feel joy, you may find relief in looking at the beliefs you hold about yourself and what it means for you to be happy.

Guilt about feeling happy can arise for different reasons. Deep down you may believe that you don’t deserve to be happy because you hurt someone in the past, had more than others growing up, or maybe you received a mean comment from someone you admire. Perhaps it once seemed that painful experiences always followed happy ones; now whenever you begin to feel happy, you find yourself waiting for the other shoe to drop. Happiness may even just feel uncomfortable because you’ve gotten so used to feeling down. The truth is that when you feel too guilty to let yourself enjoy positive emotions, you are denying a part of yourself that has a right to exist. By limiting your life experience to just the negative feelings, you are cutting yourself off from the fullness of life — which includes all of the positive emotions as well. Fortunately, you can begin to shift the way you respond to happiness even in this moment.

From now on, when happiness begins to blossom in your heart, try to accept it, relish in it, ask it to stay. It’s okay to feel happy even if you believe you don’t deserve it. Feeling good is an expression of your wholeness and your connection with life. The next time happiness appears for you, try not to feel guilty about it. Instead, welcome your happiness in like a long-awaited friend. AMEN! 🎈😎

Good afternoon in Florida and I just want to say what a sweet post you wrote to me yesterday.
Thank you for posting and so glad you are feeling better. Kiss your sweet husband for being
there for you. 😘💕

Xango I have been through a lot hence the reason I made this thread the way it is.
This like I have said for years is my diary of sorts I have had so much support from people
all over the Community. 😉I will fill you in slowly it’s not easy being me.

The one thing is I am good at creating and doing my own thing. I had never played in the
Arcade or any arcade online I have been to real Arcades and they are fun.

One day I could not keep up with the Arcade so I decided to do something that I enjoyed
I was part of a Jewel Thread that was wonderful and when that was gone. I just said I will
do what I like. This was the beginning of how Conversation came to be Loaf was the very first
to post on it and then it just because routine and fun with Loaf then others came and went.

Xango this was all nearly ten years ago before cancer and so many deaths in my family.
I am busy creating things I don’t have to think of how painful some things has been all these
years.

I will leave it at that for now. I am just glad you are moving around please not too much. 😘😎

I so wish I could drop in for some of your homemade bread when you are feeling better. 💕

Hi and good afternoon. I am doing a happy dance knowing that you and xango are feeling better. Right now I am about ready to jump into a shower and get dressed to go to the Farmer’s Market to pick up something for hubby and myself. Hubby asked for the clam chowder and I must admit it was the best I have ever tasted and that includes top places on the Cape. I also will pick up fruit for the both of us.

Last night was a night I hope to forget soon. I caught another whatchamacallit, but this one had a funny looking tail. It was braided and I decided to see what it was when I reached the rehab. What I found was quite frightening. It said it was a poisonous snake. I immediately put a call into Terminix and they do notdeal with this. My next call was to the Wildlife people who we have done business with [prior only to be told they do not work in our county.Finally contacted 911 and apologized for tying up their phone. They were helpful and gave me a phone number to call. Which I did. Again explained the situation and they put me with the people that I was told were no longer working in our area. They met me at home and thank goodness it was not a reptile. So all things are somewhat back to normal. These people have friends on the outside that may also give me a helping hand as to moving furniture and reaching the higher shelving to bring down the items that are up there so they can get a thorough cleaning. So now you have my updat e. Thankful the way this has turned out.

Every thought we think and every action we take has an impact on the world around us.

Every thought we think and every action we take has an impact on the world around us. To be aware of this is to be conscious of our impact on the people in our lives. Sometimes we just want to do what we want to do, but considering the full ramifications of our actions can be an important part of our spiritual growth and awareness. At first, being more conscious requires effort, but once we have made it a habit, it becomes second nature. The more we practice this awareness of others, the more we find ourselves in easy alignment with our integrity.

Our thoughts are an important place to begin this practice because our thoughts are the seeds of our actions. It is not necessary or beneficial to obsessively monitor all our thoughts, but we can perhaps choose one thought or action per day and simply notice if we are in alignment with this experience of integrity. For example, we may find ourselves replaying a negative encounter with someone in our minds. We may think that this doesn’t affect the person about whom we are thinking, but the laws of energy tell us that it does. When we hold someone negatively in our minds, we risk trapping them in negativity. If we were this person, we might wish for forgiveness and release. We can offer this by simply letting go of the negative thought and replacing it with a wish for healing on that person’s behalf.

With regard to our actions, we may have something difficult to express to someone. Taking the time to consider how we would feel if we were in his or her shoes will enable us to communicate more sensitively than we would if we just expressed ourselves from our own perspective. When we modify our approach by taking someone else’s feelings into account, we bring benefit to that person and ourselves equally. The more we do this, the more we reaffirm our integrity and the integrity of our relationship to the world. AMEN! 🎈🎈

Hello and WOW. I wasn’t aware you had gone through such an ordeal. I started reading and following your thread after I couldn’t get any news from Oodiebom when she last went North and had to stay in Georgia with her hubby in rehab.
You certainly have been through so much Sheba, my heart goes out for you.

All the food I had in the freezer prior to my fall is gone, with the exception of a little tomato sauce and some chicken broth.
So hubby is becoming quite a cook for me and the way I eat😊.

Hi in Oz. Seems like we’ve been having a lot of fattening national days lately, dessert, pasta, chocolate cupcakes, yikes!🍰🍝🧁 Guess we need a national vegetable or salad day after all that, lol!🥦🥗

Ran some errands this morning, hubs ran to Sam’s so we are stocked for a little while. Still working on leaves and still have a lot to fall.🍂🍁 One job that seems to take forever.

You Never Know Until You Try

It is often said that at the end of our lives, we are more likely to regret the things we did not do than the things we did.

When contemplating whether to do something or not, a plucky voice in our heads may say, “You never know until you try.” This is time-honored wisdom that encourages us to be game rather than to hold back. It reminds us that it is only through experience that we learn about this world and ourselves. Even if we regret the outcome, we have learned something, and the newfound knowledge is almost always worth it.

This wisdom can be applied to situations both large and small. From crossing the Atlantic on a boat to trying Ethiopian food, there’s only one way to find out what it’s like. We have all had experiences where we tried something we didn’t think we’d like and fell in love. We may have found ourselves stuck with nothing to read but a “boring” book, only to kick-start a lifelong passion for Victorian literature. We may have decided that sailing was not for us until we fell in love with someone with a boat. On the other hand, we may try tofu only to learn that it is truly not for us. In this case, we gain greater self-knowledge from the experience. And yet, we might still remain open to trying it prepared in a different way. The right marinade might make you a convert — you’ll never know if you don’t try it.

As an exercise to test your own willingness to discover through doing, try making a list of things you regret not having done. You may begin to notice patterns such as a failure to say what you really think at key moments or closed-mindedness to certain types of activities.
