Hi Sanibelsheller, hubby and I had a good Thanksgiving. Just the two of us. Family is out of state, North Carolina, Maryland, Texas, Minnesota. And the rest are an ocean away.

Hi Oodie, yes I cooked and cleaned up….late at night could hardly walk to the bedroom. Hubby used a cane while getting back to normal after his operation. And had it in the TV room all this time. Actually it’s mine but hadn’t the need for it. But I did last night, had to use it to stable myself so I could walk. Today just some pain, no cane needed.

I remember eating orange sweet potatoes here in the US for the first time. In Brazil we eat purple or white sweet potatoes.
I remember eating sweet potatoes and green beans for the first time back in 1967. In the home of my first friend I made here, Leslie Williams in Washington, DC. We would walk to school together and walk home together.
Now I must have green beans and sweet potatoes together. I also make my own kind of dressing or stuffing that I just developed to my taste. I chop lots of celery, onions garlic sautéed in olive oil. Blanche carrots cut into sticks. Bring chicken stock and butter to a boil pour into the bread, add the chopped veggies, add the carrots (I add lots of carrots) and add lots of chopped Italian parsley, Sage, Thyme, and Oregano.
