I love those cupcakes and I think hubby would definitely like one or two. I just may make the short drive to the Farmer’s Market where they make them homemade daily. I am positive he will love every tasty bite and best of all, they are soft.

I did manage to get the garbage and recycle out. So far neither one have been here for pickup.

There are many ways to get hubby home once everything falls into place. Florida does have busses for the handicapped if needed. So, there is a backup in case the van isn’t possible. Hubby was amazed when I mentioned this since our homes up North do not think of what they can do for people who cannot get around. I surmise their thinking is a convalescent home where the services come to you. All we need to do is to contact the company with the day, date and time for pickup and to contact them when the appointment is over for the return trip.

The bout with the ketchup took a lot out of me. I had tons to do and decided to take it easy and hopefully will play catch up tomorrow. Guess this will teach me to read every label even if there were no problems previously.

Read about the snowfall in Colorado. Hope your Mom and the rest of the family are OK. Not good when you lose utilities. I was concerned with your overnight. Prediction were for tornadoes. Happy to see you three are OK. Take care and stay safe. I’m going to put my feet up for a bit.

I hope the storms for the these couple of days aren’t as potent as the weather people make it out to be. Be safe.

I was at the Rehab before noon only to find out that the phone call from the urologist came at 10:30 this morning. According to the Head Nurse, hubby did well and there will be another follow up in three months also via phone. There were some questions from the Head Nurse and it seems hubby will be OK and that it will take another three months for the bladder to respond better.

Hubby was having lunch in the dining room when I arrived. He was all smiles. He is so afraid about being a burden to me. I just hope I was able to knock that issue out of the park. There is still a lot that we can do together with or without walking. After two orthopedists felt he would never walk again, though the good leg he may be able to use with therapy. Whatever the outcome we will work together to do the things we enjoy. I also mentioned that the first few days back home will be difficult until we can work out whatever comes our way. I just want him home where I think he will be better off.

I am really concerned with xango and I hope she and her hubby are OK. It’s a month since her last posting. Not like her not to say HI.

Well, it’s getting late. Think I will call it a night and get to bed instead of falling asleep at the computer. Please be safe.

You are absolutely right. That cake is too good to eat. So cute. And yes, I am smiling.

I am feeling much better and will visit hubby in a little while. Missed seeing him yesterday, but decided to stay home and really act on the swelling that reached one side of the tongue. The swelling is gone. It’s the after affects that are bothersome and will take another day or two to heal. This is one of the worse bouts I have had. Forgot what this part was like since it has been years since this happened. Normally, it is just swelling on one side of the mouth and nothing major. This was the whole mouth, cheeks and one side of the tongue. My fault for assuming that the ketchup was OK. Who ever thought that it contained vinegar, corn syrup and corn starch. The top three ingredients that do a number on me. All three are sulfites. Together they made one big mess. Thank goodness it is not a killer. Never assume that the ingredients stay the same. They do not. Especially with Aldi’s. By the way, I no longer add cinnamon to hot chocolate. The list goes on and on. However, if the ingredients contain one no no, I still purchase. Just won’t use more than a teaspoon.

Hubby has an appointment tomorrow. Will be with him . I do not expect any problems or concerns. I will update that adventure when I am home.

Weather has been in the mid 70s to low 80s, Night temps in the mid 60s. Low dew points. I think I read that we will have a cool down next week. I hope it includes a rain event. We still have a drought situation.

Oh my!!!!!!!! I was wrong. Hubby did notice and commented as soon as I was in the room. He was extremely angry that I didn’t call him the day prior. I replied, “Why call when you do not answer.” Case closed.

I am feeling better, though still swollen in one area. This one taught me a good lesson that I need to read all labels even if I bought the product before. Labels do change. Honestly, I was surprised to find that Heinz uses corn starch and corn syrup . These are definitely a sulfite along with vinegar. However, for people who may be diabetic, these two are a no no also. I’m still taking the antihistamines.

Hubby was in good spirits. Wants to know when he can return home. I had to remind him that he would need to be able to get in and out of bed on his own and to use the bathroom. I’m not concerned with the shower. since I will make it a “walk-in.” I also purchased a three shelved cart to hold items we use the most that will remain by the shower. This will enable hubby to grab what he needs. Not sure at this point if he will be able to walk, so will be making things easier to reach from a wheelchair and scooter.

Today is garbage day. I need to get the “bag” outside for pick-up. It is partly sunny today with temps going into the low 80s. There is a chance for a shower, well, maybe. Have a great day.

I am getting ready to visit hubby. It didn’t take much digging to find the culprit. The first thing I checked was Heinz Ketchup. I didn’t go any further. Suffice to say one side of mouth is still swollen, however, hubby will not be able to tell. Will write more later.

I awoke this morning with jaw and mouth pain. Thinking it was nothing, started the day. But, when I reached the mirror from our medicine cabinet, noticed my mouth and cheeks were swollen. This is my condition of an allergy reaction, but to what??? I immediately started on a regimen of chlortabs, benedryl and my 24 hr. sinus meds. Then the headache started that drew me back to bed and under covers. Could not for the life of me figure out what I ate that caused such main and anguish. Everything I munched on contained no preservatives or sulfite ingredients. Then it dawned on me. You do not need to list an ingredient if it is less of a certain amount in mgs set by the FDA. The only culprit meeting this were potato chips. They are now part of Monday’s garbage.

Guess you had a similar situation. Well Dr. Oodie is here. Next time you get those itches from whatever, you can take Benedryl. It is a tiny red/pink pill that is sold at Costco and most pharmacies and is effective against that awful itch. You take 1 pill every 4 hours. It does work. Also, your sinus meds, if it contains an antihistamine, should also be used. The only drawback is that the Benedryl may make you drowsy. Actually the first pill felt OK. It was the second one that made me fall sound asleep and when I awoke, it was too late to see hubby. Thankfully, I can tell him the whole story tomorrow and he will not need to worry, though he will anyway. I should have known better. Allergy season is upon us and I should have taken more precautions At least now there is no additional swelling and the hives have started to pop. When I wake up tomorrow morning it will be as it nothing happened. .

I am laughing as I type. Your comment about wearing large necklaces… I am a person who loves simplicity in jewelry. Wearing huge necklaces was something my mom did. She loved being outlandish. And, if she was alive today she would love Heidi Daus. However, I do buy some of Heidi’s larger pieces. Some I have worn when visiting hubby and people do stop me when I wear them and asking where I found it. Hubby loves the Dazzling Duchess which looks huge, but is actually a simple display around the neck with flashes of color as it dances under the sunlight or a lamp that does the same thing. I admire Heidi’s artistry. Sometimes I just purchase a piece because of the artwork. Her rendition of Atlantic City brought back some of my memories when we used to visit the area in the middle of winter. One of my fondest memories was a return during the winter break and walking the boardwalk and being so cold, but kept on trekking and looking in the windows of the shops that were opened. We walked into one of those shops where I spotted a bear that was about 25-30″ tall and beautifully made. Fell in love with him, but thought it was rather expensive for that time of year, so walked out and decided it would be just a memory. Totally surprised the next morning when I found it next to me. I kept him up to a few years ago when I found someone in the family that loved him as much as I did. And now you know why I purchased that necklace. So, Taci, don’t be afraid to try something a little more outlandish. You might be surprised on how beautiful it looks on you. I never expected anyone to say anything. Totally surprised when they did.

Hi and a good afternoon. Hmm….I see it’s still morning where you are. First, I like to thank you for the belated wishes. You really are not belated since I didn’t type anything until after. Our anniversary was real quiet. When hubby returns home it will be a complete opposite celebration. Getting ready for the visit. Oh, you all will be happy to know that as of yesterday I no longer can bring any food. Seems hubby has gained too much weight and needs to cut down. The only thing I can bring are soft veggies and fruit, and those need to be cut into bite size pieces. Hubby has a habit of putting everything in his mouth and then choking. He forgets that his esophagus is small. I have been told to feed him one piece at a time. It will be fun just to watch what he does or says.

On your amber. They do have a tendency to scratch because it is a resin made from trees that has become fossilized. The beauty of this is that the inside has many colors within that jumps out at you. Scratch marks on the inside and outside are quite common and actually, I believe, enhances the piece. I sometimes use those velvet bags that come with our jewelry from HSN comes in handy for jewelry pieces such as amber. I also purchase the Prestige Jewelry boxes that keep everything looking brand new. When I am on a trip whether by car or ship, I use bags that have pouches on the inside and two cords on the outside so you can easily bring those cords together so that nothing falls out. The center can be used for necklaces and bracelets, though some necklaces can fit into the pouches. HSN used to sell these . But in the last few years have not seen any, so have resorted to Amazon. These bags fit nicely in a carry on and will keep your pieces from getting pushed around. I hope this helps.
