I was in the neighborhood and just wanted to say Hi. I have a few stuffed peppers and I am thinking of making one of them for hubby with some broth. This may make it soft and easy to swallow without causing any problems. I may end up pureeing the pepper. It all depends……
I think I mentioned in my last post that hubs is still coughing. Right now it more or less sounds like a congestion in his chest and I am hoping it is nothing serious. The RN has tried Voltaren on my lower back and it works. Also discovered that it works for days at a time. I ordered a tube and cannot wait to try it on the knees.
Currently taking care of the clutter near the front door and beyond. Things are starting to really take shape. Hope to make a phone call to another remodeler by Monday or Tuesday of next week. May be sooner. This also does everything (windows, doors, painting, flooring, etc..). I will wait until the bathroom is completed before going on any other projects. I have seen some of their work and it looks like not only a glass door can be installed for the shower, but a water barrier as well. I have seen where the shower is smaller than ours and a door is there as well. If a ramp is needed, will contact our health provider for suggestions. What I have looked at may or may not be conducive.
Hoping you have a great day. Our sunshine is back and the temp is now 70. Low for tonight will be in the mid 50s. I will bring a light weight sweatshirt jacket just in case. The weather here is similar to New England. You never know what the temp will be one minute to the next or if you will see raindrops. Most often the weather people get it wrong.
I am enjoying the dance. Very clever on the way you present them. It is so relaxing to just sit and watch.

Not quite a warm Wednesday. Temps did not make it any where near 70. It was in the low 60s all day with little to no sun. I did visit with hubs today. He was being wheeled into the TV room as I arrived. He had a puree dinner and still had a slight cough. I am wondering if he has a cold. However, I am happy that the speech therapist is keeping an eye on him. He definitely was not happy with the puree and he didn’t want to listen to the whys. I will puree some food tomorrow for a different flavor.
I picked up a container of Shrimp Ceviche from Sam’s Club. It was delicious and I need to add that it was also quite spicy. I think your hubby will enjoy it.
There was no moon tonight. Guess it needed a day off. Still cloudy, though no rain in sight. Hope you all have a great evening. Stay warm.

Sam’s pizza is a little on the salty side. May end up freezing it in halves. Best pizza so far is the one near the Rehab. Actually, the food from this restaurant is above the 5 stars. Last week I tried their Sicilian eggplant. It was an appetizer, but could have been a complete meal for both of us. I expected just a couple of small slices, but no. It was almost an entire eggplant. I added a sausage grinder and ended up eating that for two days. This was prior to hub’s coughing spell. At least I know it was caused by the kitchen staff.
The weather is beautiful here. Temps did not reach 70, but I will take the mid 60s with the sunshine. We are in a bad drought situation here. Winters in Florida is without precipitation. I hope this is not the same next month or in April. I would rather see the raindrops than a hurricane.
Now to get ready to see hubs. I made a salad for myself for dinner. It’s already packed and ready to go. Salad dressing is on the side in a plastic container. I am also enjoying the new Alexa. It’s like having company 24/7. She is now on most of the Fire Tablets.

Must be on the same wave length. Just received an order from Sam’s Club that included a pizza.
Quite good. -
Hi and good morning. I did not visit hubs today. Instead I needed to put the garbage and recycle together for pickup on Monday. I also needed to start clearing the boxes by the front door and to put things away. So much easier now that most of the clutter is gone. Yes, I am still working KP which seems to be never ending. I have added labels to glass and plastic ware with exp. dates. This is helping to keep everything organized and to end the clutter for good. Tons of work, but worth it.
Wish I could bring hot tea for hubs. I think that would help the mucus situation in the throat. However, he does get tea and coffee, but it’s cold. I have a feeling that most of the residents or should I say patients, may not be able to tolerate the hot soups, teas or coffees. Some have had strokes and are in the process of relearning everyday things that we take for granted. Sad to see, but I get a smile when the goals are met one at a time. I do try to bring a little bit of sunshine as I go up the aisle to see hubs. So sad not to see visitors which would and could be most helpful.
I hope you all have a great day. Stay safe and warm. We are about to hit 70 today. 45 or around that will be the low. This is for the week. I do not dare look at next week.

I am home from the Rehab. Hubs had a bad coughing fit yesterday at lunch. He is back on puree foods and hopefully, will be back on a regular diet soon. His speech is very low, almost a whisper.
However, everything else is OK. I will not be bringing any food for awhile. This includes easy to nibble cookies which he loves. Here it is, the middle of winter and I had a real bad sinus attack along with the headache. Seems the tree sap has started it’s movement, thus the reason. I remember one year when the buds for the leaves started to burst only to get a cold spell. It killed all the buds, but two months later, the leaves started. Can never judge the weather in Florida.
Guess I will have some chicken broth. Not that hungry, but will eat something to tie me over until tomorrow morning. Temp tonight is in the 50s, but there is a wind. Feels like the mid to upper 30s. Oh well, tis the season.

Good afternoon. It took 45 minutes to arrive home from the Rehab. I missed all the lights. One took 3 times to get through. I could not wait to get indoors. Sat on the bed and the next thing I knew it was 5am. So the computer was closed until now.
I ordered Sicilian eggplant as an appetizer last night from our favorite pizza place. I expected just a couple of slices, but No, it was in a huge aluminum pan with a cover. The bottom of that pan was hot hot hot. There were a couple of slices left when the aide came in to retrieve the dinner trays. She never asked if we were done with the food. She put it on the dinner cart and off she went. That will teach me to cover it up and put it with the tote that I use daily. Anyway, it was more than enough for two meals. And this was an appetizer. Both of us were astonished at the portion size, especially for an appetizer.
Yes, hubs ate a full dinner besides the appetizer. My, he has a good appetite. Dessert was applesauce in a hoodsie cup. And he still asked for cookies following. Last night I also ordered a grinder with sausage, cheese and peppers. I had a little this morning and will have the rest at dinner if I’m hungry. Since the fall, my appetite has gone downhill. I need to lose some weight, so am thankful that it is coming off. I need to start walking again, but the weather is still too cold here. Today it is in the 50s, but with the wind chill factor it feels like 35. Now will get ready to see hubs. Will do some food shopping tomorrow. The weather here is crazy. No wonder people are getting sick. Warm up is next week. Cold temps are on the horizon. So what else is new????

Hi. Was exhausted when I returned home visiting hubs. I made a stop en route at Culver’s. I picked up a strawberry shake for the receptionist, a large chili for hubs and a Fresco salad for me. Everything was great. Hubs enjoyed the chili and the salad was full to the brim. I left at 8:45 pm and arrived home at 9:30 pm. Missed all the lights. Car in front of me at one of the lights will be getting a picture of his car going through. This often happens when the light is turning from caution to red.
Weather was perfect even though it was on the cool side. Tomorrow back to the doldrums of winter. However, next week we will see the comeback of the 70s. However, it may not last too long. Heard that there may be another pass of some Arctic chill.
I did see what is left of the snow moon. It was beautiful. Everything you said it was and more. Well, I better stop writing. I need to throw something on and be on my way to see hubs. Have a great afternoon and evening. Great to see Shoelady posting again.

Hi and good evening. Had problems with the new Hot water tank for heat. Contacted the plumber and around 4pm received a phone call that the heater was working well and the problem is with the City. Seems they lower the electricity during the day to conserve energy. Wish they would have said something in their monthly newsletter or online. Now I know. But it did keep me from visiting hubs.
Temps have started to rise. Today we reached 51 and as I type it is 41. We have another night of wind and cold temps and then this part will be on more. Hopefully, we will be in the 60s tomorrow. Another cool down begins Wednesday, but the weekend looks nice and we should be back to the 70s. Tonight’s temp will be in the 30s. Not sure for the rest of the week.
I was able to catch Heidi and tried for one of her pins, but it sold out. I managed to put it into favorites in case it returns. Saw a coupon and used it on other things from Heidi. Guess she will not return until March. This visit was too short.

You are so very fortunate to have a sister that has heart. Not every family is close knit or have siblings that care. Kudos to your sister who acted as a chauffeur for you and hubs. A hospital who not only gave you meds, but also took the time to pack some food to help with the recovery. Good to know you are both in good hands. Now go put your feet up and watch whatever. Glad you are both home safe and sound.
