This week has totally flown by. To think that in a few days we will see the longest day and then the moonlight will start a bit earlier. I am enjoying the longer days which means I get to be with hubs until after 8:15 pm..
Today I awoke to a long weather alert. UV index was over 12. We had a rip current statement, though my partner was 5 miles away. But lastly, the end statement made my hair stand up. We had a heat warning. With the temps in the mid 90z (unheard of in June) and the humidity being what it is, the temp outside would be equivalent to 110 degrees. YIKES!!! This is the way it will be until sometime next week. No rain in sight, though some predicted 55% each day through the weekend. I did not venture out, nor did I see hubs. I do need a few things from the Frmer’s Market. That means getting up very early tomorrow. I need to be home before noon. I will venture out as soon as the food is put away. I will make a stop at Culver’s for the frozen custard and a salad for me.
Other than having a sunus problem along with the migraines, I am fine. Just too tired to turn the computer on.

You brought many memories of NYC yesterday. Times Square is where we would pick up either the R or the N train for Chinatown and Little Italy. Hardest part was deciding which stairwell to use for the exit. Left or right. Sometimes used a coin for the answer. One Exit led to Broadway, the other Canal St. No road map. No street signs. Take your pick. However, the events following the Knicks win put a damper on the entire evening. So sad.
I saw hubs yesterday. Arrived early. He was in his room with two feet on the floor, the rest of the body in bed. He did the same the night prior. I suspect it had something to do with the A/C that was not working. It was very warm throughout the rehab. I left before 8 pm wihch is ver y unusal for me. These are new units. I think it’s time for them to find another business to see if they can do better. I will leave it at that.
No rain in sight. Hot but not as humid. Breathable air felt good. Hope your evening is going good. Leaving water out for the baby otter is a good idea. Evidently there isn’t anything in his area. By the way, just be careful. They tend to be a bit friendly.

1Today I worked on the master bathroom toilet. Thank goodness for videos and explanations, although it took me 4 hours to repair. Thankfully, I didn’t need to run to either Lowes or Home Depot. It took two hands and gusto to complete the repair. I do think a new toilet for the master is in order and will start looking next week.
Yesterday I made a stop at Costco and picked up the ribs for the receptionist along with cookies for the nurses station. They also had the southwest wrap which looked interesting and my favorite shrimp salad. The shrimp saladthis time had mayo and did not have the usual taste. From Costco went directly to the rehab and found hubs leaving the TV room. He decided to return and we had a great conversation. One of the aides entered and since he had started to doze off, decided it was time to make him comfy for the night. I stayed and about 15 minutes later wandered to his room. He thought I had left and was totally surprised to see me.
By this piint I was hungry and decided to try the wrap. Cut a little piece off and it was delicious. Inside were black peas, corn, chicken, and some greens. Hubs asked to try it and he gave it a thumbs up. He actually ate half the package. On route to Costco the clouds darkened in the East. There were some scary moments. Streaks of lightning and a thunderous roar greeted me while in the car. The streaks of lightning were three and four on a match. Never have seen anything like it. We received some much needed rain. Puddles were all around on the way to the rehab and hours later on route home. The skies were clearing as I left the rehab around 8:30pm.. I was home before dark. Enough adventures for the last two days.
The humidity here you can cut with a knife. Not doable to sit outside. A slim chance for the droplets on Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday’s thunderstorm was not expected. Barometer was moving upeard. However, the lower back was causing me some problems. I’m OK today. Actually happy to not need to contact our plumber. When I am able to restart the renno I will have them replace the toilet in the master. I know my hubs would have had that repaired in 15 minutes. This was my first try on my own. It works and that is all that matters.

I am home today. For some reason I couldn’t fall asleep until after 4am. So worked on a jigsaw puzzle and doing the skyline was so boring, I finally was able to close my eyes.
After hemming and hawing, visited Heidi’s website and ended up purchasing a couple of items. I wear a staw hat when I work outside and I also use it for the beach pins The two bicycle pins from HSN were stolen when I had to leave the van for repairs. I remembered the hat once I returned home and made a phone call immediately. Only problem I was no longer permitted to return and to retrieve that hat. The vehicle was in their garage and too dangerous to go in. However, they could not find the hat, so it was already gone. I still hope that someday Heidi will again design those bikes. As far as purchasing a vehicle or having work done on a vehicle at this dealer’s place, never again. I learned a very important lesson. The hard way.
Expecting some rain here soon. Still not holding my breath. Tomorrow, a better chance. Hope so. The ground is very dry and I cannot water anything until Friday.
Thank you for the lovely bouquet. Love the idea of a pitcher for a vase. I purchased one not too long ago to use for hubby. Not to worry. I will bring it back and forth.

Goes to what I know about lizards. I think the small ones are either salamanders or geckos (LOL). I do not know that much about reptiles, but can honestly say that the snake I saw between a rug and the bottled water was either a python or boa. Similar markings to what I saw. Now I use a lantern after visiting hubs and of course the cell is handy.
By the way, any news from your friends visiting Florida? The one thing I can honestly say is that they have many amenities to induce the seniors and for those who are handicapped. Some ideas and things I never knew existed.

How is your SIL in Georgia doing?

Thanks for trying to send some rain our way. Unfortunately, it is too dry to take advantage even though it is a cloudy day with temps over 90. We expect some droplets tomorrown through Friday, but I am not holding my breath.
I checked the ad for the Rarmer’s Market and today and tomorrow they have a deal on Georgia corn. 13 for 2.00. I have not seen corn this low in years.
Well, finally. Checked Heidi’s area in HSN and found some new items and a few are in my favorites. I will be out and about tommorow and will miss her 1pm show. Looking forward to the evening spotlight.
Hope you have a quiet day without the nasty storms. Stay safe.

I did some laundry and decided to sit down and the next thing I knew it was 5pm. Too late to see hubs, but did get the garbage, recycle and some weeds out for tomorrow’s pickup. At least that’s done for another week. The truck can arrive as learly as 6am. Since I’m not an early riser, need to get things done the night prior.
Hubs really enjoyed the cake. He was grinning from one end to the other. I gave him a second helping and after that said tomorrow. He never heard of this cake and I will gtive it a try on my own. It seems easy enough and it just melts in your mouth. Never had anything like it. I’t was on sale last week and that gave me an opportunity to give it a try. So moist. Delicious.
Yes, we can really use those raindrops. We can only water our plants on Fridays. Would love nothing better then to see cloudy skies and some pleasant drops. Today we had ths sun. Not sure about tomorrow. ” Whatever will be will be.”

Could the small lizards be geckos? They are everywhere in Florida. Thankfully, they love the bugs and other small insects.
As for my plants. I do the same as Sheba. I also use Miracle Gro soil for most of my plants and they are thriving. Check your plants and write down what they are so you can purchase the right soil and feed. Miracle Gro makes different soil for each type of plant. This includes orchids, cactus, succulents, Christmas cactus (which is not a cactus plant), etc.. Check out Lowes, Walmart or Amazon.

Hi and a good Sunday afternoon to you. I arrived home just before 9pm after visiting hubs and was just too spent to sit at the computer.
Hubs was in his wheellchair when I arrived. I had made a stop at the Farmer’s Market and found a Tres Leche cake for hubs to try. I also picked up an apple fritter for the receptionist. Hubs has a new roommate who coughs a lot. I was forewarned by the receptionist and also told not to feed him. I do not feed hubs roommates since each one has had special diets. I also picked up cut up watermelon. We both enjoyed this one. Very sweet. I saw some homemade soup and chili and picked up one of each. The chili was for hubs which he enjoyed. The other was a homemade chicken noodle which filled me to the brim. Not as good as mine, but it was OK while visiting.
Tomorrow is garbage, plant clippings and weeds and recycle. I’m all set. Just need to get it out before leaving to see hubs. It is cloudy with some sun and I suspedt the UV factor will be added in an hour or two. No rain in sight until Tuesday or Wednesday. Then again, Florida’s weather is so unpredictable. You never know what’s in store. I suspect whatever it is will be a good surprise. Our hurricane watch has begun.
Hope you three and then some have a wonderful, quiet day. Enjoy the raindrops.

Finally feeling better. I had to phone the doctor’s office today since it hit the stomach along with a slight fever and chills. They phoned me a few hours ago to say “Please do not come in. This is a virus thing that seems to be making the rounds.” That made me feel a bit better about not being with hubs. I did manage to do this and that and to put things in the Recycle bin for Monday. I will do the garbage part Sunday and both will be at the curb as I leave to see hubs.
Sort of surprised that the new items have not been posted to Heidi’s thread on HSN. I hope she is still planning on returning in August, though that could be questionable. I have no idea how things are going with QVC and HSN. July is the birthday month for HSN. I think this year will be their 49th birthda if all is well.
We have had some rain and wind. The wind was something else. This was one time I was thankful for having both feet on the ground rather than swaying on a cruise. Still too cloudy for the stars or moon. Take care and enjoy the walk with Poppy later. I know the animals are all fed and happy.
