Guess it’s a good Celtic name. Have to write it without the space between 1st and last names.

Baking with Julia is my all time favorite baking cookbook. The Danish is fantastic, better than ANY bakery product. Easy too, esp. if you make the fillings (which keep for a while) in advance.
Here’s my money saving tip: Goodwillbooks.com is a subsidiary of Goodwill Industries, and they have a gazillion books there. No shipping charges. I had bought my Julia book years ago when it first came out ( at full price) and also watched her shows on PBS, but now, whenever I see it is available, I buy them and give them away to new bakers.

Do you remember the talk show host Jenny Jones?? Well, she has a number of recipes on YouTube called Jenny can cook. She has a recipe for crusty bread, that requires about FIVE (yep!)
minutes of hands-on work. You must have a cast iron or really heavy pot with a cover for it to work properly. It’s surprisingly good, and when I first saw this recipe, I thought it was a mistake. Try it. I have it on my WhatsApp, but am too computer illiterate to transfer it. -
Dinner tonight was scampi with linguine. But that was 3 hours ago, and your winter melon soup recipe makes me want a second go.

can u use ANY type of rice for Congee? I routinely stock basmati, jasmine, Uncle Ben’s and Arborio, depending what type of food I’m going to cook. As an aside, small world, in the Southern part of India, (where my sister lives) they eat the same thing, albeit with different toppings, and it’s called Cunyee.!!

Doing just fine, especially now that winter’s almost done. How about you?

Salivating! Do you do the ribs first, and for how long before you add the veggies?
