In the Washington D.C met. area, we have a magazine called Consumers Checkbook. It’s like Consumer Reports, but for a variety of services, not goods. You get a checkmark for quality and another for prices, and hopefully, one is able to pick someone who gets them both. It’s ABS. invaluable, and I’ve got some terrific plumbers/electricians etc. from them. The Libraries here carry this mag. in the reference section. You’d be surprised at the range of prices, and what’s really surprising is that sometimes the best often beat others’ prices by 30 % or so. Ask your librarian if Florida has something like this.
