Moving is asking a lot A LOT from moving from paradise (despite the hurricanes that may blow through!) up north. Seems like the north is the financial hub of everything and finally what I find most upsetting, July IS HSN’s Bday month, what a way to celebrate – closing down the forever studio location and having everyone head to the north if they want to keep their jobs, you know there are lots of jobs involved, not just the hosts! Best of luck – please don’t change the vibe – that is unique to HSN, but must say I’ve already seen a bit of a different vibe,
Glad Adam and Callie have made the move, they are true “keepables!” -
Angry? I am not angry of the move, i have to assume since they (QVC/HSN) are under the same umbrella that the folks in charge felt this a good change and with the hurricane challenges this past year that likely sealed the deal. I do however think “hosts” are what makes the shopper happy, which means they spend $$$$ !!! The loss of many of the hosts as they choose to stay in FLA is harsh on us that enjoyed them so much. Now granted some might say well so and so has been forever bur for example, Rebecca and Natasha, newer hosts but sure have a following because they just have that “IT” factor. Remember when Lisa Robertson left QVC, they tried to recreate her in so many ways starting with Sandra Bennet who I adore but she was not a clone of Lisa, it has taken them time to fill that void, it did not happen overnight. I am sad for all the folks in St. Pete that are losing their jobs/positions. For those that say just move, when you build a life – a Family and live in a place for a good bit, maybe change is good but it is stepping far out of a comfort zone and let me tell ya – there is a huge different in FLA life and PA life. I applaud those that choose to move, I see an overconfident attitude emerging in some of the “newer” ones which is not appealing to me, but this is a world of change and obviously we as the customers didn’t get a weigh in on this one!
Best of luck to HSN, if the products are good and the designers and guests continue to be appealing I imagine I’ll be buying…from both! -
I almost breathe a sigh of relief seeing others comments! . I am sure she is a lovely person and she certainly is beautiful, I do not wish to be critical because honestly I would love to do what she does (be a host!) and I cannot imagine how difficult it is, plus now this new adventure of having to move up north – difficult to say the least! do find that she is on overdrive constantly, almost like nervous chatter, therefore I typically do not choose to watch her. She seems to be a “fit” for the new PA vibe I’m seeing but I would love to see her step back, tone down the dramatic constant laugh and gestures and just be the real deal! good luck HSN on this huge shifting!

I wish HSN luck as they relocate. I know the hosts moving there are good, obviously some have way more following than others. Many of them staying in FLA have that true likeability factor and could sell a telephone poll quite frankly – even some of the guests – they have a following as well and they have a “real” factor about them. As it’s been said before, north does have a different vibe. I will say that typically if it is a host I enjoy regardless of what they are selling I will watch (and buy!) but some that have shifted up north I applaud them for following career dreams, however simply said those are not ones that I will be adapting to, it is easy to see when someone is not really invested in a “product” and just rambling on and on, not ditzing anyone but you can tell when someone is real and when someone is not. Selling on tv is convincing people they need something, that is what got me hooked a good many years ago, all the best to everyone, i know you all are trying very hard and realize this was a corporate decision.

Seems like some are having their last show in FLA and then some scheduling in PA in July and August or even having another show at the FLA studios. I will say this as well as the hosts that are just treasures that are not moving, Lynn, Valerie, Guy, Michelle, Natasha, Rebecca and I know I’m missing some but those are the ones that have the “infectious” ability to sell, sell sell…eve when we don’t need it! And the guests, the guest who present the product I see where some are choosing not to relocate and well, they sure will be missed. I am glad Callie and Adam are going with the change and Bobbie Ray at least until the end of year when she will retire. I only wish they could crack the code and still broadcast with our favs (hosts and guest) from FLA!

Best of Luck Guy! Sure hate to see you go but certainly understand – can’t imagine relocating to a cold north climate!!! All the best, you are the best! Fun to watch and I think I would purchase about anything you sell, you do a fantastic job of presenting and connecting with your customers and guests, you sure will be missed!

I applaud the hosts that apparently are being “farewelled”. Everyone has been so positive and continue to be pushing the optimism of the new bright studios in PA. Many of the hosts will sure be missed and hesitant to say but some of the ones that are making the move were or are less well received. Their lack of commitment or knowledge as to what they are “selling” shines through, but I like the hosts to be the real deal and I do think the network suffers cos let’s face it, most of our shopping experience is based on the hosts, a good hosts can sell ya anything. Best to the ones shifting and thank you to them for trying to make the experience positive. Gonna miss Helen, Amy, Guy, Rebecca, Valerie and I’m sure I’m forgetting a couple but they are what has made the class of the HSN shopping experience such a pleasure!

The vibe in PA IS different, the hairstyles have even changed a bit as well as wearing different colors of lipstick, ok to each his own! I watch both channels, i shop both channels, i enjoyed the more relaxed vibe of HSN but apparently the nail in the coffin was the hurricane (I’m sure that wasn’t really it but let’s just go with it) and then today the tornado required a “blackout” re-showing last nights Todays Special preview. If this is what works for them I applaud trying to stay in business and shuffle them both. I think it terribly hard on the Hosts that have to relocate or loose their Host job, perhaps they will use them in some way as it has already been proven that candids and presentations CAN be made from locations other than the actual studio. But to point, there is for sure a different “feel” to it all …..

Sure hate to see Guy “go” as he is for sure a draw to the HSN brand. I have to say from everything I am seeing they are transitioning HSN to be or be more like QVC. Even the scroll that comes across now states that my cable provider is dropping or moving the HSN channel. I am all for streaming who knows maybe I’ll even drop cable (and save $$). I do hope that HSN doesn’t try to clone themselves as the QVC brand but then again they are owned by the same. they call this progress and sure gonna miss a lot of the hosts.

Congrats Callie if you jumped the broom! I am so very glad you all are heading north, i was just thinking this morning how you are one of the few hosts with legacy status to carry on the passion. The new ones, well for the most part they don’t appeal at all, but that is just my thoughts. You were glowing today during host picks so hoping you are happy and married or not, happy life!

I understand change and wish both QVC and those remaining to carry on HSN. It does disturb me that many of the “hosts” with HSN will no longer be on as through the years there are relationships that develop between us the customers and the host personality. I understand why many would not wish to move north, their “home” is in Florida. I wish that the new leadership would figure out (shouldn’t be so hard they did it during covid) how to still use many of the hosts that are stepping back. Seems like the “newer” hosts which many I do not find even watchable as they just laugh, giggle and it’s clear they have no idea of the product and don’t have that connectivity to the base I feel that HSN appeals too. Sorry, my thoughts only. HSN sure is loosing some good ones.

I have no idea who is leaving, i did hear Debbie D mention she and her hubby had been house hunting in PA. I would like to hope that long time hosts, Guy, Callie, Suzanne, Bobbie and so on would be part of this new vision of business but I’m sure they likely won’t, have roots in FLA and let’s face it, moving north as a starter is one thing, for someone who has established roots whole different ballgame as with any business. So sad to see all this happen, Many hosts they have brought on as of late don’t have the same passion, more like reciting a script over and over. Just like you go to a restaurant where the service is great, and they act as if they know your name, the shopping experience will suffer cutting the anchors out. Not being negative, just a fact. If the “younger” market is the game here, let’s face it their shopping habits are ruled by tiktok!

The HSN north was a comment regarding Joy Mangano’s set up. She calls it HSN North. I assume she had a contract that she would not have to travel to FLA to present and as she is a money maker for the brand and company assumed they agreed. Andrew Lessman appears to be the same, rarely have I seen him make a personal appearance in studio lately. I will say this, while COVID hit and defined our work space it is clear that they did with success be able to “remotely” present so I personally see no issue with not being there on site. It is costly to bring people in for a short presentation, including hotel stays, etc. Hopefully they will use some of their legacy hosts that I think most of us enjoy watching to operate this way.

Maybe if they were not branching out to QVC2 3 and HSN etc. to all the streaming platforms they could focus their regular programming!!! Just my thoughts, I can’t fathom that a Floridian would have excitement about moving to where winter months can be brutal – well unless they are from the north originally – 🙂
