Temperature Question re Curtis Stone Mini Multicooker
Just used my C.S. mini multicooker for the first time. I have a question. Once you set the feature, in this case, I used the Multicooker feature since I wanted to boil my pasta (I am not a big fan of the add the dry pasta in with the ingredients as it tastes to starchy). I noted that the pasta had reached Al dente before the beeper went off (manual says 30 minutes). Does this machine have a way to change the cooking feature, midstream, or am I stuck until the feature completes its cycle? So far it seems that I would have to unplug to change the cooking feature.

@singingbelle, you are right. You do have to unplug the Curtis Stone Mini Multicooker to “stop” it or to switch to another mode. There is not an “Off” switch. To me, it’s the same as turning off or lowering the heat under a pot on the stove. (I am in the habit of constantly watching something that’s cooking or baking.) So, you are not trapped, having to wait for it to complete a cycle.
What I prefer about the CS multicooker versus the stovetop is the small cooking pot for one or two, how lightweight it is, and the easy cleanup.. I’m experimenting with each setting and, like you, would like to know how each setting differs in heat intensity and cooking time. (It would be very helpful if that information were included in the presentations.)
Also, how long pasta needs to cook depends on its shape, thickness, if you prefer al dente, etc. Lots of variables when cooking, so I think there’s a definite learning curve, but I’m personally enjoying this “downsized” cooking experience.

i found out the same thing. i had to unplug ot. there is no feather to hit stop. the reviews have a lot who are very desipointed with the pot way too small, cant fill it up, i made his posta and just about made enough for a bread dish but not quite. the whole thing needs desperate remaking as too many things wrong. if you have wolfgang puck rice cooker, use it. it’s much better, you can fill it and you can make everything the same as curtis stone multi coocker but even better. if you dont have one, you can get one in red and black for $24.95. i recommend wolfgang puck.
