Manufactured in China
I am really tired of celebrity chef products being manufactured in China rather than the USA. In my experience, with few exceptions, their products are no match for the higher priced well known brands. They rarely perform as seen on TV on shopping channels because those are specialized condition. As another poster mentioned, some chefs don’t even use their own cookware in their live demonstrations! I would pay more for kitchen products manufactured here in the USA, how about you?

dvard: With all due respect, I don’t think you addressed my desire to have celebrity chef cookware manufactured in the USA instead of other countries. That being said, I agree with you completely concerning the outstanding quality of knives made in Germany and Japan. However, many shoppers could not afford to purchase one of the superior knives you mentioned.
As long as celebrity chefs are concerned about $$, I believe the comparative trade deficit between other countries and the USA will unfortunately prevail. -
. HSN has German knives and they are not cheap. Zwilling J.A. Henckels and Wustoff are the only ones they sell made in Germany. I do not think they have Japanese knives which are made by swordmakers and have a different angle to the knife edge

Bext knives are made in two places – Germany and Japan. Good knives are not cheap. You get what you pay for. Only quality US knives made in Orleans. NY is Cutco which while not cheap have a life time guarantee. They want you to send it to them to sharpen and if it will not sharpen, they will replace it. Direct sales mostly with road shows at Costco. HSN has German knives and they are not cheap. Zwilling J.A. Henckels and Wustoff are the only ones they sell made in Germany. I ddo not think they have Japanese knives which are made by swordmakers and have a different angle to the knife edge.
