Did anyone make the Pineapple Upside Down cake?
OK, I don’t mean to sound crazy, but everything I have tried in the Mini-cooker has come out perfect…except this cake. It says to use 1-1/4 cups yellow cake mix from a box. Do I make the whole box and then only use that amount? I tried to approximate it with the ingredients and it overflowed and was a complete disaster.

Oh, please don’t worry about sounding crazy! I’m the one who had to call Curtis Stone Customer Service for help about how to take the heat shield off, haha.
When you ask “Do I make the whole box and then only use that amount?” what does “make the whole box” mean, and what does “only use that amount” mean?
While I haven’t made the Pineapple Upside Down cake recipe, I understand the directions to mean that you open a box of yellow cake mix, and take out (measure) 1-1/4 cups of the mix that you will then use in the recipe; I’d treat the yellow cake mix as if were 1-1/4 cups of flour from a bag of flour. Then follow the recipe by adding the other ingredients listed in the recipe, whatever they are.
I hope that helps.-
did his customer service tell you how to get it off? I didn’t know that it comes off until I saw it in his booklet. I called hsn and asked that curtis stone show how to remove it on may 22 ,22,23 and 24 when he’s on all 4 days for his anniversary because he never mentioned it at all last month during his today special. plus his diagram is the wrong one, no ware even close to it being round.
