Circling blue lines on rice setting Curtis Stone mini multi cooker

I pressed the rice setting on my new Curtis Stone mini multi cooker and these circling blue lines came on. Does anyone know what these mean? Is this unit defective?

The issue is interesting, by coincidence today I heated up something in a cup and it leached out brown lines all over. Tossed it all.

I am having the same issue. All the other functions work but when I select the RICE function, I get the blue circles that. you described. Very frustrating.

  I got around the RICE setting issue by selecting the MULTICOOKER option and stopping it after 30 minutes. It came out great!

I too had problems with the rice option. I bought it for cooking rice but this never did. I sent it back to get a replacement, hopefully the new one will cook rice for me. You should send it back for a replacement or a refund. Good luck. I do hope my new one will work
