Where Is Jennifer Juan from Chaco Canyon Jewelry?
There’s a new rep for the brand on air today, with no mention of Jennifer Juan, who has represented this brand for decades. In Lynn’s introduction, she spoke as if the new rep has been presenting the brand for years. Perhaps she has worked behind the scenes. However, I’ve never seen her on air. I miss Jennifer and hope she’s doing well. If anyone knows anything, please share.

Apparently, Chaco Canyon Trading Post was started by the new reps great grandfather. He was a trader that bought wholesale native American artisan items and sold them., allowing the artists to work from home and focus on craft, not sales. Jennifer Juan was an employee of the company and a wonderful spokesperson for the native American artisans who created the products. The new on air rep is a family member of the original trading company, she is 5th generation of the ownership and is also GIA certified so involved in the jewelry side of Chaco Trading Co. Hope Jennifer is doing well in her new pursuits. Miss her but will continue to support the artisans and buy their products

Hello, my name is Tishannon Johnson. I am Jennifer Juan’s daughter. I was online tonight and decided to google my mother’s name, because I was was missing her and wanted to see what pieces were out there or updated information on her. I came across this. I actually helped my mother with a huge order 2004-2005 for Overstock and HSN. She was an art/Silversmith instructor for a facility in Chaco Canyon, NM. Anywho, I thought since someone took time to inquire about her, I can take the time to update. My mother passed away 08/02/2017. Her legacy personality, and talent definitely deserve to be remembered. They do make their own presence. She was a beautiful person inside and out.

Tishannon—So sorry for the loss of your mother. Obviously, there are two different Jennifer’s in this post. The one that was on air on HSN was still doing presentations in late 2023. That is why folks replying here are confused when you replied about the news of your mother passing in 2017. Either way, God bless you and your family

A comment that will add more to the mystery. Jennifer Juan was a presenter on HSN until a year ago. She was on air for many years .

Oodie, good job. I didn’t see an obit. either.

There is a Chaco Canyon Trading website, and Jennifer’s picture is on one of the pages, along with the Native American artists who make the jewelry.
My guess is that HSN changed vendors for their southwestern jewelry, but kept the name. HSN should clarify. -
Jennifer, no regrets, please! You educated, informed and inspired so many HSN viewers and highlighted the craftspeople of your community. You have a lot to be proud of. Know that people you never met appreciated you and wish you well always.

I agree that HSN needs to respond to this question. I know that I am reluctant to purchase anything else from this line until I hear something about Jennifer Juan.
-
HSN needs to respond to all the questions about the whereabouts of Jennifer Juan of Chaco Canyon. What happened to her?
-
I have never purchased Chaco Canyon. I saw that it said Southwestern. It didn’t say Native American by description. There is a difference between Southwestern, Southwestern Style etc. some even come from China. Does anyone know for sure that this jewelry was made by Native Americans?
-
Chaco Canyon is described on the website as “inspired by Native American culture.” During the days that Jennifer Juan represented the line, she would speak about the Native American artists who designed the jewelry during her presentations. I don’t know if this is still the case.

I have shopped Chaco Canyon with Jennifer for years. I also would like to know what happened to her because nothing was mentioned on air.
-
I also was wondering the same thing. She wasn’t on last month either.
-
My response was relative to zhenshocks77 who explained what happened to Jennifer Juan. I see now that her/his original post has been deleted. I wish I could give you more info, but since it is no longer here, I cannot attest to its truthfulness.

Oodie, what is the reply about Jennifer? I don’t see it.

Thank you for the update. I think many of the customers wanted and needed to know, including myself, on what happened to Jennifer Juan. For some reason I do not find Courtney to be authentic. I happened to catch the first day that Jennifer was on air and though shy, was able to give a great description of the artistry pertaining to each piece of jewelry and the length of time to produce it. Jay King helped her from day one and became her mentor. I looked forward to each visit and though I may not have purchased that day, her presentation made me watch continuously and wait impatiently for the next time she would be on air. In all those years I never returned one item. You could tell she was proud of her heritage.
I will miss Jennifer’s stories pertaining to the reservation. I deeply regret that this happened to such a lovely person. I appreciate the time she spent with us as a teacher and as a vendor. I wish her good health and many smiles as she travels a new route to a better future. Hopefully, we will meet again, someday.
