Do we really need these hosts
I hate when the host cutts off the person presenting thier designs. Let Jay King finish ONE sentence. He has been on for years, much longer than this host. He knows how to sell his jewlery. I want to know the story where it came from how rare it is etc. HSN can save money by not having as many hosts especily the ones like this one – just run a scroll at the bottom of the screen with how many are sold, how many are left, time left, sold out etc. Keep the few good ones you have and jetson the others in favor of the designers themselves.

I really don’t want to be this guy. some of you may agree and some of you may disagree but i feel like maybe some of the hosts who behave in this manner need to take an education on how the guys present. they present like they’re having an educational conversation rather than trying to railroad over each other. the producers need to take note of these comments and let the hosts know that they need to just relax.

@ludwig1 you are right to a point, I think. The guys you are talking about are Adam and Ty. If you go to QVC, ALMOST ALL the guys there are very guilty of the railroading, sometimes way worse than the worst female offender. Alberti and David Venable are horrible interruptors- they oftentimes think they know more than the vendor.
You are spot on about having an educational conversation with a friend. We do it all the time! “Hey Sally, I found this really great tire inflator that also charges my battery! It’s blah, blah, blah…” Granted, we don’t have people in our ears telling us camera angles. product facts, sales info, etc. But it’s pretty easy to stay on track if you think of it that way.

settled! from top to bottom, QVC and HSN, everybody just needs to relax. (i knew I’d get a quick response).

I buy else where all the time without seeing a video of someone trying to sell it. I either want it or need it or I don’t. So no I don’t think hosts are necessary and can even be annoying at times. Listening to the vendor is much more informative or just having no human trying to sell it.

Lesley is my favorite host, but she talked and talked while poor Cathy( Prai) just stood there. The host should never talk more than the vendor . I wonder if this is what HSN wants. I turned it off. Hope Lesley won’t be doing that with all vendors. She is one of the few hosts that I watch.

I think the HSN folks are still getting used to the PA producers/directors. Different people, different styles, different pace talking into your ear piece. Even Colleen tonight said, I think my old crew must have been afraid of me, they never got in this close to me holding the jewelry. May be they were afraid I would fumble and drop things but these guys are fearless,! The guest said, well, you are trembling a bit. And they just laughed. Even a veteran like Colleen has to adjust to new equipment and new crew in the PA studios.

Sometimes it works in reverse. I saw a host begin her presentation. Doris Dalton kept talking over her. I felt bad for the host. Maybe they do just need the vendor. HSN would save money.

I think the producers are talking to the hosts in their earpiece.

Oh, definitely.

I think the hosts are trying to create a sense of urgency. Hurry! Hurry! HURRY! BUY IT BEFORE IT SELLS OUT!
We’re not fooled. -
I get so annoyed when the presenter is explaining something and mid sentence the host cuts him/her off only to tell how many are left or this color sold out etc etc. I mean it looks so rude and such info can wait. Let the presenter at least finish their sentence and not let them lose their train of thought. I could care less about the sales. Besides everyone can find that out upon ordering as to what is left and what is not.
