What has happened to HSN?
I use to love HSN and watched all day every day. Thought they were so much
better than QVC. Thought they had classier hosts and products. All of a
sudden it seems all they sell is junk AND the same junk over and over.
Just noticed they are doing Christmas in July and everything seems so cheap
and junky. The prices for what they are selling are ridiculous. I wouldn’t
even buy them if they were half the price because they look so cheap.
Anything, I guess to make a dollar!

Hi kramer2011, all products on HSN and QVC are from China – maybe with very few exceptions.
We can’t financially support anything coming from China – at least at this time. Not just because the quality is shamefully poor, but for the health risks.
Take a look back at the viruses that came from there, it’s been consistent, and now the world is forced to cope with the killing Coronavirus Pandemic.
Only a few days ago reports were officially confirmed of a Bubonic plague outbreak in inner Mongolia China !
I pray for the good people of China who can’t get out from under the extremely cruel and oppressive rule. What they do to children and animal is completely unGodly, abhorrent.
When a country(s) trades bullets and bombs for killing virus pandemics, it’s time for all of us to take action, and that’s ending financial support – don’t buy ANYTHING from China.
Voicing our demands where possible, and writing letters for reform seems a small ineffectual thing to do, but it can and does make a difference – and of course prayer. We can’t let the deranged power obsessed ruin Earth and kills the people.

I don’t think anything is going to stop all of the manufacturing being done in China short of making it illegal for companies outside China to have their manufacturing done there. It’s got so big and out of control. If all of the deaths caused by the coronavirus weren’t enough to do anything more than temporarily halt production for products by Anna Griffin and Crafter’s Companion, for example, what is going to stop them – will bubonic plague be enough? It’s all about spending the least amount of money and making the most money possible for those companies. If they cared about anything more than that, they would be more responsible to the people in their own countries and provide them the jobs for fair pay. I am disgusted with my fellow Brits who started out manufacturing in the UK and then moved that to China, Crafter’s Companion being one of the worst offenders, but they are worth at least £35 million, and that was a few years ago.
-
You’re right it wont. The big corporations turned their backs on the American worker since the digital age. They can pay China to make cheap goods for us and pocket the rest which is why their are so many billionaires now. We are seeing the effects of it as China has built up its military which now gives us another superpower to threaten peace. They woke a sleeping giant in the name of greed. No country in its right mind hands its economic power to a Communist country. We dont have clothes on our backs or medicine as was proven in the pandemic. China never had to pay for a thing for what they caused.

Hi Cynthialbbw, thank you for your post, it’s spot on, I completely agree with you. Please keep voicing your opinions.
Have a lovely day, stay safe, and God Bless.-
Thank you. It’s just the truth and pretty obvious by itself, but I have also watched Dragons Den, a very long running tv programme in the UK, where investors with loads of money listen to pitches by people wanting investments for their own products and businesses. Sara Davies of Crafter’s Companion is the newest and youngest dragon. It’s not just her, though, it is all of the dragons telling people they have to get their manufacturing costs down, and the Far East as they like to call it is the recommended place to go for their manufacturing. I have watched it a lot, and I have never heard them ever at any time mention anything but the Far East. I remember the earlier days of CC before I came to the US and before CC had even started making dies. They are now mostly a die company, but back then they were selling rubber stamps, not clear stamps, unmounted rubber stamps, and Sara Davies would be on create and craft tv saying that she’d phoned her company to turn on the equipment and make more rubber stamps. It was all done in the UK back then and so was everything else they were making. How sad that things have changed so much, and I just heard her say a couple of days ago that they have been taking on more and more staff, illustrators, engineers, everyone they need to make more and more products. Doing the manufacturing in the UK again would be a real help to the people in northeast England where they are based. I wonder if any of the many people with companies manufacturing their products in China have ever stopped to think about what a difference it could make to local employment, or if all they ever think about is their own profit margin.

One big reason so many are flooding in from south of the border is the factories have been shut down as manufacturing was shifted to Asia. I much prefer the Mexican and Central America for clothes and goods. It was quality. They are far more talented craftsman. China is only good for computer assembly or digital boards.

I am SO SICK of nothing being manufactured in the USA. If HSN & QVC (under the same umbrella corporation ), they are selling THOUSANDS & THOUSANDS of orders from all over the country. With such a high order why can’t these shopping networks make these clothes and other items in a USA manufacturing plant. Do they realize how many people are out of work??? And don’t tell me that there are not enough AMERICANS who can sew, mass produce, etc. It’s ALL ABOUT THE GREED & THE ALMIGHTY $$$.
One more thing, why doesn’t HSN have FREE EXCHANGES like QVC???
I’m going to stop buying until they both get their greedy prices down & start making in the USA!
Peace to all, stay safe!-
I hate, loathe Amazon. He has so many companies from China on their now and they’re mostly fake rip offs. Definitely not watching his site. I dont know why these people with the means dont fire back up our factories. We just dont make anything anymore and its scary.

I have never been a fan of HSN,, I was always buying from QVc , but Qvc dropped the ball on quite a few expensive orders,, and thankfully they refunded all my money, so I ordered all my computers and fitness equip. from , better priced also. Since then I have noticed some of the stuff they are pushing is as seen on TV garbage, or things I have seen at the dollar stores, In addition the clothes are horrible. No class,, (except for Iman) and the the clothing looks no better than some of the close out stores,, tacky, and expensive,, they seem to be trying to appeal to a different demograph as opposed to the dedicated client base.

curate killed hsn.

It would be helpful to their customers if, when presenting a product, the hosts would let us know where the products were manufactured. We have a right to know, and make a decision whether to buy the item or not. Maybe this would encourage HSN to focus on made in America products?
-
It is amazing how cheap the products seem to be over the last couple of years. The clothes are dated and cheap—and often they make a special value but if you look at the product, the reviews are scathing!!! But HSN makes a todays special value and advertises as though its “gold”.
I just received a letter regarding a Bioscience product that I could return based on false claims made—and it was 150 days after I bought it.I dont buy as much which is a shame. And speaking of “what happened tp HSN”—I sent a few items back and HSN still hasnt processed the refund and they have been in possession of the return since 6/23/2021 according to USPS tracking.
-
I learned my lesson about returning items and waiting for a refund! Unless I really hate, or can’t wear the clothing due to sizing, I’ll make due with whatever I purchased. Even if you carefully check the sizing on HSN charts, sometimes the fit is horrible. And I don’t think most of the hosts give us enough info that we need. The sizing on the models doesn’t help either. Most of what they wear is ill fitting, and much too small.
-
…and on top of that no coupons, no “fun” (spin to win coupons, coupons on your dashboard, participation with “codes” on TV for coupons like customer appreciation month or HSN Birthday month), S/H prices are outrageous, no more buy more save more and it takes FOREVER to get items… and now HSN just raised their prices (again) on their clearance items (they did it a few times over the past couple years but never by this much!) I’ve heard of clearance prices going down but UP? Ridiculous!!! (ex: Heidi Daus “Fancy Lady, Fancy That” Simulated Pearl Beaded Necklace 732-981 — I bought it on clearance June 9th (2021) for $75.74 – now the “clearance” price is $78.39 and still $5.50 shipping! While I’m sad about all these problems with HSN, mu husband is ELATED! Take care everyone and please read this stuff HSN and try to make some changes. for you loyal customers and hopefully new customers.

I sometimes wonder if HSN is trying to go out of business. Last night I was bored and thought I would watch Diane Gilman. I was amazed at the cost of her products. The ugliest looking tied dyed jeans were $88.00. When you figure in the tax and shipping that is over $100.00. Well, I think that is ridiculous. Then, Amy and Diane go on and on about what an amazing deal it is. By the way I noticed that Iman’s clearance items have also gone up. I sure miss the old HSN that would bring reasonably priced, high quality items. This girl is taking her business elsewhere.
-
I have stopped buying DG2 clothing. The sizes are not consistant & the material is not the same as a few years ago. Thankfully I have too many of her jeans in many colors. Until I find out the quality is back to normal I will not purchase anymore. I have never had good luck with her tops or jackets.

Hardly ever watch HSN anymore. Nothing on there I really want or care for anymore & the hosts drone on & on before they get to the details you want. I used to love Signature Club A. You don’t see Adrienne on there much anymore & her prices have become outrageous & the products you want are very limited. I will not pay the ridiculous prices for things I used to like that now are all sold out or you have to buy a kit of some sort to get 1 item you want.
Oh well, no loss on my part, Many items & brands they used to carry have been replaced by similar, lesser quality items.
That’s ok by me…I don’t need to spend any money on HSN w/inflation & gas prices out of control & shipping costs through the roof.

Used to watch regularly but now I’m bored to tears! They talk about the same item ad nauseum and the prices are ridiculous. I’m weary of the remote guests and the hosts that are over the top emoting or the ones that come across like they’re half- !
