The big move for HSN…
I wanted to add also about HSN that if im not mistaken they were the very first shopping channel on tv. I think they started on the radio and sold a can opener as their very first item. So disappointing.

@Everyone
It is amazing for how long you have been shopping with us! We truly appreciate your business and loyalty! <3

I have been a member since 1989. I understand the frustration of long time buyers. It is a different culture and, speaking for myself, my tastes are quite different from that which is being presented today. In 1989 shopping modes were quite limited. Today, we can pretty much shop anywhere for the best prices and styles. To each his/her own, I guess.

I started with HSC Labor Day weekend, 1988. Besides Bobbi Ray and Hans Burt, I remember Tina Berry, Larry Muzzy, Chuck Spieser, and many others. HSC was wonderful back then! They had Bargathons, Jewelrythons, and other low, low price shows. The only downside was you had to order while an item was onscreen.

Summer of 1979 – almost positive we got “HSC” on TV for a few hours on Sunday mornings. we lived in NY then. maybe it was a deal they had with CableVision. They just showed the items and talked about them off-camera. can’t recall the items. can openers maybe? Later I remember HSC with Bobbi Ray and Hans Burt, that was around 1982? would love to know if anyone else saw them on TV in ’79?

CVN was a few years after HSN/HSC started with Bob Circosta and his can openers!

I’d have to check but CVN was also one of the first, later absorbed by QVC.
