Qurate Layoffs affect QVC and HSN Hosts

i will miss carolyn gracie and shannon smith..wish i could say the same about jane treacy, kersten lindquist, shawn killinger and coutney kohndabi..i can’t stand to listen to their inane bantering..it’s insulting.

I can’t believe that Shannon is gone…she was my favorite; she could always make me laugh. Have they ever watched Alyce? I see she’s on and I turn the channel. Looks like I’ll be saving some money and won’t be shopping here or QVC anymore. Sorry to see you go Shannon, you’ll be missed.

It was a big mistake to let Dan Hughes, Carolyn Gracie, & Shannon Smith go. The problem is not your hosts but your over priced cheaply made horrible products & the ridiculous return shipping costs. Another issue is the same products over & over. QVCs quality & value of most of your products now is awful & inconvenience rather than convenience & ridiculous costs to return your inferior products. This is your problem not your hosts! You have also hired these new hosts who are awful. Get a clue people & listen to your customers. We make or break you1

Quarte definitely made a big big mistake especially with Shannon. She knew her products and was truthful when presenting them. Guess my shopping days online with HSN & QVC are pretty much over.

Wow. Shannon Smith has been with Hsn for 27 years. Dan Hughes, 33 years.
What irks me about these online shopping channels is the high prices for clothing. Much of more expensive clothing has a famous person slapping their label on the garments and selling it for prohibitive prices. Be like Target, or Kohls, price accordingly.

They forgot to include Jane Treacy, Shawn Killinger and Amy Stran who are all annoying and silly. Clean house and get rid of more dead wood. Everything on QVC is so repetitive and prices have gone through the roof. Shipping costs and return fees are a disgrace. Don’t blame poor sales. I believe management is the cause. Wake up QVC.

Attracting a younger audience at the cost of those of us who have been with you for decades. Your losses have nothing to do with the hosts you let go. You are losing money because your prices have increased exponentially. Who pays $50+ for a poor quality tshirt? We can see right through the fabric while presenting on air…let alone when we get the product home. Obviously your revenue has decreased painfully for you to have to let go hosts. With all the jeans, for example, available on both channels, and I still cannot find a good fit, at a fair price, with good quality. You should be listening to those of us who have made your company a success. You’ve lost the recipe. Hope you get it back. But, I’m done. I can get everything elsewhere.

Do we know “released’ means these people were fired? Sounds to me like released refers to “released from contract.” Maybe these hosts quit, wanted to leave, or wanted to retire and negotiated termination of their contracts.

I will miss Shannon, Dan and Carolyn. BAD DECISION! Only watch their shows and David. Turn off some of the other hosts they kept that I find obnoxious. Can’t stand to watch some of them! Have to admit I am one of the customers shopping less. More about disappointing products, cost of shipping to return their disappointing products and some the hosts I can’t stand. But not Shannon, Dan or Carolyn! They were the best! It was like Carolyn could read my mind and answer what I wondering about a product. I am horrified!

I am NOT upset by any of the layoffs of any of the program hosts. A company’s decision to release people from their employment, especially in this type of industry, is their decision and for whatever reason. For some of them, quite frankly, it was probably time for them to go. A new CFO has been hired; we’ll just see how things go. Again, it was probably time for some of them to go, and I agree with a few who were let go.

Both Hsn and QVC nave changed and not for the better! prices are inflated and now Hsn with their increased shipping rates. There are so many other shopping resources now that can offer more incentive.

Surprised at Carolyn firing. I won’t miss her, tho. Dan was no great loss as he was lazy and arrogant. The rest no loss either. I think Jane Treacy awful but I guess she is well liked. Her mistakes are legendary and why they keep Shawn is beyond me. HSN is better watching as more affordable and more variety of products. HSN hosts are younger and more fun like Tina and Ty. QVC needed to b shake things up as HSN is better viewing but of course same company.

I’m very upset with the layoffs of these good hosts. I loved Shannon smith watched her for years she’s was funny, goodly and quirky but man did she have mad sales skills, very informative. I also adored Lesley I don’t think they ever gave her a chance to shine. And Shannon fox seemed nice although I never saw her often.
