Put up a message about all the ENCORE programming
HSN management-you should have put a message on last night’s programming that all your programming for 8/29 will be ENCORE, why, and when you anticipate regular programming to resume.
We understand the hurricane years ago caused scary situations for your employees.
But shortly after that experience, you made decisions regarding how you will address these type situations in future.
There is absolutely no reason to keep your viewing audience in limbo trying figure when regular programming will resume.
Just run a message instead of just “ENCORE” so we know approximately when to tune back in. Otherwise we’ll be watching other programming thinking you’re still repeating yours when, in fact, you may have already resumed regular programming.
And update your website/app to reflect accurately programming changes too please.

I have no problem complaining about something that doesn’t sit right with me, but this is not one of them. Common sense needs to prevail. We know about the hurricane. We know they are in a dangerous area. We see the word ENCORE in the presentations. I think we can figure out there is a state of emergency. I don’t need a special header for that information.

OMG!!! Lives are in danger and people are worried about whether the programming is live? You have got to be kidding me. Everyone in Florida, please be safe and many thanks to HSN for caring about all of their employees.

There is a hurricane folks. Its name is Idalia. The safety of everyone in its path is paramount to selling stuff on the air. The website is still up. Let’s hope everyone in its path is evacuated (if need be) and safe. That is the priority. Not when HSN will or will be on the air. That will also be up to Idalia.

I find it utterly bizarre that they didn’t put up a simple one-sentence statement on the website about the encore programming. I understand there was something on Facebook, but not all customers are on Facebook.

Years ago under Barry Diller, HSN moved their programming to another area that was not impacted by hurricanes. Bill. Green took an entourage to Texas to continue the broadcast. As of right now I am seeing bands of showers. Then, again, I am not near Tampa.

UPDATE: 8/29/2023: As Hurricane Idalia makes its way to Florida, we are supporting our team members and St. Petersburg, Florida campus to stay safe during the storm. HSN live broadcasts are currently paused and taped programming is broadcasting across HSN TV, HSN2, and digital platforms until the storm has passed and the area is cleared for our team members to return to. Our Customer Service Team, located in safe locations across the country, remains open via phone, online, and social.

I completely understand and support HSNs decision . People need the time to take care of their love ones and themselves !
CHEERS for HSN (: -
NO ONE is discussing HSN management protecting their employees’ safety. Of course we want them to protect their employees. There are also OSHA, wage & hour, and other laws requiring them to protect their employees.
The discussion is that HSN’s plan to protect their employees, equipment, and property in these types of events has been established since the last significanr hurricane YEARS AGO.
Given that is true, why NOT then have ACCURATE an accurate statement regarding the “state of their TV programming and other services” running as a banner along the top or bottom of the screen?
Do they think that viewers do not want to know?

jingertx you are 100% right! Also what they REALLY could do is close down their station and just show the STATEMENT OF EMERGENCY! But no, they still want to do business! Still take orders. So go the extra mile and make a Statement.
