WHY AREN'T POST OFFICE BOXES CONSIDERED LEGITIMATE DELIVERY ADDRESS.
U.S.P.O. stated ANY PACKAGE IS ACCEPTABLE & DELIVERABLE BY ANY SENDER. THEY SIMPLY NOTIFY RECIPIENTS BY POSTCARD IN BOX & ONLINE NOW. NO EXCUSE FOR IGNORANT RETAILERS TO NOT ACCEPT POSTAL BOX AS A LEGITIMATE ADDRESS. IT’S STILL MOST ASSURED, MOST AFFORDABLE AND MOST DOWNRIGHT COMMON SENSE METHOD OF DELIVERY. HI TECH WILL NEVER REPLACE ALL THINGS. comments welcomed

The reason is because not all items are shipped through the USPS and those that are not, unless contracted through them, cannot be delivered to a PO box address. Or simply put… the Post Office is not a holding facility for packages not shipped through them. FedEx cannot walk in and say that they have a pkg. for box 29 ,here it is, see ya later. There are situations where the Post Office has contracts with other carriers to deliver their mail so you may see a UPS or other truck back up to your local office. The USPS doesn’t own planes and they contract with other carriers that do to fly their packages. Requiring a physical street address is also a security measure to insure things like credit card fraud and such are not being perpetrated.

That makes sense. Vendors don’t want constraints on their shipping method. 👍
