What Things Make You Change the Channel?
I’m a long time QVC and HSN Watcher. The following makes me change the channel, what are your Channel Turners? And usually I forget to come back to what I was watching!
1.I can be enjoying a presentation then they start with the hard sell Limited…Hurry….Now….Price Going Up…Heres the Thing, this price is going away… 5000 sold….Like I care how many are sold! Even with the first presentation at mid night they start with the Limited warnings.
2. Thirdly: Vacuum Cleaners and Mops/Cleaning products showing disgusting strange messes. I can’t press the remote fast enough, sometimes I feel sick.
3. When Food Shows are interrupted with non Food products because they have a captive audience, Like QVC David Venable ITKWD show, I hate when they distrub the flow of the show with that: e.g. The Bose Radio/CD presentation that always last 30 to 45 minutes.

when they say there giving us a lid to the pot, frying pan, when the lid is already packaged in with the pot and pan so there not giving us the lid. they think were .
-
I get tired of some of the hosts and the commens. The guy selling orgamie today is a good example. He wants us to buy this storage shelf because we may misplace a screwdriver and have to go to big big box slore and buy 3 more. He always comes up with things treating HSN customers as idiots. Turnes me off to HSN

Drooling hosts during food presentations. Do these people never eat at any other time? Then the cameras go in for a close up so we can see them chew each bite. Just makes me gag!!!
One thing I will say is QVC & HSN may have broken me of any shopping habit I thought I had. Their oversell & hyper sales pitches makes me question everything now, even when buying local.
Oh almost forgot, the clearance item that was decreased in price magically basically the same amount as the shipping charge, i.e.. before clearance $22 with free shipping but clearance price now is $18.50 plus $3,50 shipping. Do they think we can’t add?
Also have they cut down on the number of products offered per hour? It seems to be always the same things.
Could someone please give josie marin a towel to wipe her arms off? She may be a very nice person but that’s just downright creepy.
Why do all the hosts have to hug & give those silly kisses like these are long lost friends. We know they just saw each other back stage in makeup?
Lori Goldstein… her creations look like they’re from someone’s rag box from the 70’s. Please stop with the silly hems.
Kim Gravel & Mary DeAnglis… they may be from the south but they’re both trying to hard. They seem to be trying out for a Designing Women episode. That series was canceled in the 80s. I thought Mary was trying to imitate David but she’s just so harsh I can’t watch her.
Andrew Lessman’s reading the reviews on his products. I can read.
Ok. These are mainly QVC hosts but it’s because I tuned out the HSN hosts long ago.
Also I agree I really don’t like the 4 hour re-run that both networks have adopted thru the night. Sure it is cost saving measure but that means even less products.
We just need the description, colors, prices..stop the hyper sell.
Sorry once I started I got wound up.

I bought a pair of earrings for 24.95 with free shipping. Within the same brand, earrings were 19.99 plus shipping.
So, I didn’t really get free shipping.

Hilarious responses. Lately I seem to be focused on insincere David Venable. So robotic. New guest with food product—Camera on David’s face–Makes a goofy “in love” face—–he crosses his eyes and –cue silly Happy Dance “Git It Git It” . Pul–leese!!!. We know exactly when you are going to happy dance!
For non food items, how he looks into the camara and gives his insincere story and shpeil about how you need the product. Then the silly counting of how many sold…..review colors….provide another update of how many colors sold, Get yours now…lets review colors again,,,,,,We have sold how many producer? Aghhhhhhhh!!!!
-
I ag r ee about David. Robotic is a good description. He is too old to be acting so silly. Like all the hosts, they are there to sell. It seems like a game to him.

As of today, I will add a lying customer service representative and computer glitches (supposedly). I had two orders canceled today because HSN messed up. I was told that “HSN reserves the right to cancel orders.”
Thanks for the reminder of your lack of ethics, HSN. I reserve the right from which company I want to buy.
Since I love Joan Boyce, I recently ordered 9 pairs of her earrings, and I also got some face creams.
After my experience today, I need to chill my buying from HSN. They don’t care about customers.
Vote with your dollars!

What makes me roll my eyes and want to leave a presentation –
When a show host gasps for air like they never seen the product. ***** OOOOOHHHHH!! She GASPS FOR AIR as she brings her hand to her heart. ****** If you are feeling that bad, somebody call 911. STAT! I will now disappoint these show hosts by saying, they will make more shoes, clothes, tvs, computers, jewelry, blankets, etc.
I don’t need anymore clothing or shoes for walking the dog, going to the mailbox, going to the farmer’s market, going on vacation, meeting the girlfriends after work, or going on a cruise.
I also do not need anymore items for my vacation home, my second car, or the RV.
I am not racking my brain with what to give my coworkers, hair stylist, teacher, etc.
Tell me the size/dimensions from all angles, the true color away from the camera, show the product from ALL angles, the warranty, and show TRUE garment measurements! Bang it on the table a few times, but STOP with the gasping for air routine! UGH!

I came across Kathy Wolf’s Facebook page and it is Kathy Wolf on TV. How long has she been gone from HSN? What happened? I realize now I haven’t seen her, but I don’t watch HSN near as much as I used to.
-
Oh, forgot to mention Wolfgang Puck (definitely needs to wash his hands), and Jackie-The-Voice-of-Slinky (LOL)
-
Every time Amy Stran says: “I’m 5′ 2″ and I’m wearing an Extra-Extra Small”
-
Geez, where does one begin. I hesitated to comment here because on certain other social media threads your are blasted for having an opinion that may not be popular.
Jackie from Slinky. Come on,corporate, this is your front person? That voice, give her some voice training ,let the host speak, or replace her. I will not ever watch.
Shannon Smith, over the top with animation overload. Fix her hair and give her a muzzle. I cannot watch.
Adam Freeman. Pretends that it’s his choices for what’s on air. He shouldn’t be selling jewelry, makeup or fashion can’t watch him do it.
Sarah Anderson. Ends every sentence with an upwards lilt. Put her is the Slinky category…voice training please. Hard to watch her, she doesn’t seem genuine.
Shannon Fox and Valerie. Way too cutsie for my taste. Can’t watch them either.
I will watch most shows with Helen, Lynn, Callie, Alyce, Suzanne, or maybe Amy hosting. The rest are just mediocre in my book.
Models, seriously, how many of us are 6′ and wear a small? More real life examples please. Let’s see more Yaz, Emily, and Annette sizes please. Throw in a petite as wellI. I cringe if none of these girls represent. While most of us would like to be a Sonia, it ain’t happening in your demographic. Make the hosts ask every model their size and what size they are wearing EVERY TIME.
Stop forcing these hosts to constantly shout out on Facebook. Seriously, people need to hear their name on air?
Please stop with the coins, crafts, NFL, foods, underwear, throw away electronics, and fake doctors
A…m..zon is starting to provide videos for each of their products, which is currently your strength, and it is why I shop here, product demo. Listen to your customers, or you too will be shuttered. -
Shannon Smith. She must live in a warehouse….she owns EVERYTHING that has ever been presented. I actually called HSN with a complaint about her after one presentation. It was just coming on at the top of the hour. She was going to be presenting a tablet. She went on and on about how wonderful it was. How easy it was to operate. It was the one she loved to travel with. She said her big “i” tablet was great for at home, but this new tablet (another brand) was the way to go when travelling. She had recently taken it with her on some trip. I kid you not….when the vendor came out, she looked at him all wide-eyed with her mouth open and said, “This tablet looks AWESOME. I am going to HAVE to get this!”
Wait…what??? You JUST said you had it and traveled with it recently. She tells so many fibs she can’t remember what she said five minutes ago. UGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Here recently, it is so frustrating that when you turn to HSN the same show is repeated for sometimes 4 hours. And now QVC is doing it as well.
One of my main pet peeves is when Shawn and Issac are together, and they talk so much and clown around that you can’t get heads or tails about what the product is all about. I think sometimes that the hosts get too familiar with the vendor. But, I like Issac’s clothes.
Leah, continues to be one of my favorites, because she knows her stuff, does her homework and is professional. On HSN, my goodness where does one begin. Shannon with her constant silliness, and Bobbi who claims to have every item in every color being presented. Really??
And lastly, the hosts needs to stop saying this is the lowest amount this item has ever been.
Do they really think the customer is that ? Please give your viewers more credit. -
First of all I need to say THANK YOU for this thread. Each post caused me to laugh which I badly needed. For sure, none of us are perfect. Yet, each life touches every other life. When there are things pointed out to me by family members or friends…I listen. Most times, when I see the validity to what’s being said, I try and correct.
The #1 thing that stands out so clearly is when folks interrupt each other. When you listen to the interruptions it’s easily understood if the one doing the interrupting would have LISTENED… their question/comment had already been answered. The other thing that makes me laugh is when a host says they “can’t do without”, or it’s their FAVORITE (particular brand) product, piece of clothing, shoe, boot etc. It makes one feel as if customers are not able to follow what’s said, or are not able to remember what was just said when presenting the prior product etc.
It was my sister that pointed out to me that when presenting jeans, skirts, jackets etc, it’s referred to as “these LITTLE jeans, this LITTLE jacket, this LITTLE skirt, etc. etc. Being that I wear a size 2 petite, I wouldn’t have caught this until she pointed it out. I can understand why this would be irritating. My sister is gorgeous. Yet, she said that it gives the impression (due to the way things are described) that unless one is “little” it is inferred it won’t look as good on a curvy girl. It’s helps having model’s that are various sizes representing real women.
It seems there are those that are competing with one another to talk. This often leads to talking over one another. Now, I understand enthusiasm. That’s not to which I’m referring. Yet, when folks talk over one another it’s hard to follow what’s what. Watching them has also caused me to check myself many times (and make corrections).. Yes, I do use the remote when necessary..
You ladies rock!!
Regards,
Peace4lady2

There are so many things that irritate me LOL, but since you asked here are a few:
QVC:
– Shawn Killinger and her goofy glasses, she takes them off & on, off & on, off & on GRRR!
– Kim Gravel, fake as all get out…cannot stand that woman
– Julia Cearley–New host on QVC, OMG I’m not sure WHY they thought she’d be a good host, but I honestly think she’s the worst host I’ve ever seen. Laughs inappropriately, cannot stand up straight, etc…I could go on and on LOLHSN:
– Sarah: she has to know that her hair looks HORRIBLE parted down the middle like that, it’s
thinning something terrible and is just awful looking—it would look so much better parted off to the side, with a swoop effect so to speak…just anything other than that!!As you can see, most of my issues are with QVC…I honestly don’t mind the hosts at HSN, my favorite HSN host is Tamara and my favorite QVC host is Kristine Zell.

What’s with the string-straight middle parted hair on some of the hosts on QVC & HSN. You can’t tell me they think it looks good. I think I am watching “Morticia”. Halloween hair. I have to turn the channel cause I can’t stand to look at them. ICK! They have hair products for sale, use them.
