What happened to Andrew Lessman's Essential-1 vitamin?

I have been taking the Essential-1 vitamins for years. This last order has a terrible rancid smell and has dark specks, like pepper, in them. I looked on the comments on this vitamin. There were numerous complaints about the smell. I’ve never wanted to be without his products and I ordered these when on special in May. We have been taking them from this batch for about two months and I can tell you that both my husband and I feel tired all the time since taking them. We do not have the same energy level as before. Apparently something has changed in the formula. I hope that Andrew will read this and the other reviews and undo any changes he may have made.

I hope you somehow let ProCaps/Andrew know. He’ll then be able to address it.

I haven’t noticed it, but I’m still taking from an older version. It is still within exp date.

Thank you for bringing this issue up. My husband and I have also taken Essential One for many years. It was a wonderful addition to Andrew’s other supplement we take. But after he changed the formula, it has definitely had a horrible odor and has also upset my stomach. Never have we had this issue. I was irritated after checking our previous supply of Essential One to see what had changed. Apparently the new formula had less Vit A (beta carotene), less calcium, less magnesium, but more biotin. There may have been other changes, but those come to mind because I am still perplexed about the change. No 1, the change was not mentioned in any format we listened to. I would have stocked up on the older version, as it was still available on Amazon at that time. No. 2 , why change something that was obviously better received by your clients? This is by far the worst formula and odor of any of his products. We kept it because we rely on it for the other 2000iu of Vit D we need daily, in addition to the CoQ10 2000iu of Vit D. We are not happy with the new formulation at all, and not happy with the lack of explanation prior to getting stuck with a year’s supply. We try never to run out of the products we use, and finished our previous bottle before opening the new one. By that time it was too late to return as well. I’m relieved to know we are not alone in our opinions about it. Such a disappointment.

  Canaan10, Thanks for your post. I didn’t think about a formula change but now, hmm…..
  I am not interested in supplementing biotin, Not sure if its true or not, but heard it may effect certain labs. I will pay more attention to the formula before purchasing again.

Gabbie and Xango, pulled my container of Essential 1 1000D, it expires 01/30/23.
I take one per day. It does not have a unusual or bad smell. The capsule does contain a slight multi colored mix, that is similar to sand.
Best to call pro caps 800 number to ask about it. They have wonderful Service Reps and may be able to address the issue.

  The bottle that I have is, Essential 1, 2000 IU Vitamin D3, 250 MCG Methyl B12, 500 MCG Biotin, 200 MCG Methyl Folate. Lutein. Lycopene. Zeaxanthin. 400 Capsules Best by mail 8-30-2022
  They have a bad smell and as soon as it hits my stomach, it hurts.

  The bottle I have is the Essential 1, 2000 iu Vitamin D3. 100 mcg Methyl B12. 1200 mcg Biotin. 400 mcg biotin. 400 mcg Methyl Folate. Lutein, Lycopene & Zeaxanthin. Best by 04-30-2023. They really smell bad! I have stopped taking them. I hope Andrew will give answers to all the consumers who are concerned about this problem.

I have a bottle, it has an expiration date of Best by 08-30-2022. It does have an odorous smell. It has dark specks, and every time I take it makes my stomach hurt. I would take it with food, a full meal and still my stomach hurts. So I stopped taking it. I have a full bottle, and can’t return it now. I had ordered 4 bottles of Vitamin D3, long while ago. So that is what I still take, it doesn’t hurt my stomach.
