Really HSN! Farewell Celebration
That was pitiful! I don’t blame Helen for not staying with HSN. All they did was show pictures and gave her a small bouquet of flowers.
Good bye HSN
Good bye and good luck, Helen! You deserve better!

I think the hurricanes last summer when they had to close really hurt them and the prospect of another situation like that was overwhelming. I don’t blame them for having to make a business decision. I am sure they hate having to do it.
-
I don’t think one summer of hurricanes are to blame. HSN was in Florida for decades. I think it’s purely financial. Did anyone here see what happened to ShopHQ?
-
You are partly correct ennui. However, the hurricanes are a huge reason as to why we have lost many insurance companies. In some cases only one insurance company is covering many of the homes on the East and West Coasts. In my case, I have lost our den roof twice and an entire lanai also twice. Regular thunderstorms can knock out power for days or weeks at a time. Tampa and St. Pete are sometimes the hardest hit. Each time there is a loss of power HSN has to determine whether to fly the hosts to another State with models, scenery, merchandise, etc.. I remember the time when Bill Green was a host and flew to Texas with everything he could for a week or more. This was the time prior to knowing anything about “Climate Change.” The last two hurricanes were the last straw. Where I live in Florida, Milton did not give us a rain event, it brought on tornadoes. Going home from a shelter was like seeing an aftermath from a bomb. The path of destruction was devastating. The shelter to my home was only three miles. No where near the ocean. Every home on my street sustained damages. The repairs were costly. Homeowners insurance didn’t cover half of the repairs. We are a tiny community compared to the HSN campus. If we found the insurance didn’t cover everything, can you imagine the cost to repair HSN’s facilities. On top of that, losing quite a few of your customers at the same time. This is a devastating time for shoppers online. Shop HQ closed in April. Most likely due to higher costs to the consumer. But, most likely loss of customers to Amazon, Walmart, Target, EBAY, to name a few. With the aid of a computer, shoppers can now go to other sources to find the same items at less cost and with free shipping. Remember, when both HSN and QVC started there were no other places to shop that gave us the deals they could. Today there is strong competition no matter which retail venue you use. And these also include restaurants, fast food chains, etc.. The lists goes on and on.

I applaud the hosts that apparently are being “farewelled”. Everyone has been so positive and continue to be pushing the optimism of the new bright studios in PA. Many of the hosts will sure be missed and hesitant to say but some of the ones that are making the move were or are less well received. Their lack of commitment or knowledge as to what they are “selling” shines through, but I like the hosts to be the real deal and I do think the network suffers cos let’s face it, most of our shopping experience is based on the hosts, a good hosts can sell ya anything. Best to the ones shifting and thank you to them for trying to make the experience positive. Gonna miss Helen, Amy, Guy, Rebecca, Valerie and I’m sure I’m forgetting a couple but they are what has made the class of the HSN shopping experience such a pleasure!

An Update on Our Growth Strategy
Corporate News
March 27, 2025: QVC Group today reorganized teams across our company as part of our strategy to grow by becoming a live social shopping company. Through our WIN growth strategy, we intend to increase revenue while maintaining adjusted OIDBA margin. We are pursuing three priorities:Wherever She Shops: Drive live shopping content to everywhere she spends her time
Inspiring People and Products: Create the world’s leading live social shopping content engine, inspiring human connection with incredible finds
New Ways of Working: Lean into technology and continuous improvement to fund expansion onto new platforms and into new audiences
As a result of this reorganization, we made the very difficult decision to eliminate a number of roles. In the U.S., this impacts approximately 900 team members across HSN, QVC US and our Global Shared Services. For many of these individuals, today will be their last day with QVC Group. Some will continue working with us for several months, mainly to support the transition of the HSN broadcast and the St. Petersburg campus. In our international markets, we are proposing several organizational changes. We will be sharing the detail with potentially affected individuals and, where applicable, engaging in negotiations with relevant employee representation bodies, in accordance with local laws. If consultation processes are required in a QI market, no changes in that market will be effective until those processes are completed.
We are committed to supporting impacted team members through this transition with separation benefits and outplacement services. Our immediate focus is supporting those directly affected by these changes.

I respectfully disagree. Going through a reorganization is not easy. Whether people losing their jobs, moving to PA, or whatever. Everyone at HSN have been very professional during this difficult change. The people behind the camera are just as valuable as those we see every day on T.V.
I will still watch HSN and wish all the best to everyone! -
What happened to Adam Freeman?
-
@klait Adam, Chelsea, and the boys took an extended vacation to Leeds and side trips to Europe. He’s back in West Chester now. Did his first Friday Night Finds.
-
Adam is on the list of hosts moving to PA, so he’ll be around.
-
Adam is still scheduled to work, according to the Program Guide.

I felt bad that I missed the Helen farewell, now I realize i didn’t miss much. Doesn’t look like they’ll do much for Guy Yovan either. It was nice to see Shannon Smith repping some peanuts on his Tasty show. Seeing Shannon reminded me of the brush off she got, too, and she didn’t go out on her own terms. You can tell Guy and Shannon like and respect each other, so that was nice to see. Well, the only thing constant in life is change. 🙏

I agree, the move to join QVC was never a good idea. To close HSN and ruin the careers of hundreds is just unacceptable. Looks like shopping at Thrift stores will be my new hobby. For my favorite brands like Skinn, I will go directly to their web site.
-
I like Helen Keaney too. I don’t think I’ll be watching any more after everything moves to PA. We live in Florida and it’s like HSN can’t wait to get out of here. Message received.
-
Hello you don’t know what they did after the show or behind the scene with helen
-
It’s true, HSN could have and should have done better especially for hosts that have been there for a very long time. I was so sad last night I cried. Helen is one of my favorite hosts as well as Amy and Michelle which are also not making the move. I have to say I love them all. I believe this was an unnecessary move which has affected not only most of the hosts but the models as well. I wish all the best to Helen and hope to see her soon somehow.
-
I agree. The only thing “farewell” was the sign on the wall. Best wishes, Helen!
