Joy's "My Little Steamer" recall
I just saw a tweet (Twitter) from HSN regarding a recall of the steamers. There are various levels of settlements, depending on when you purchased, going back to 2002. The recall was caused by people getting second and third degree burns from water leaking.
“HSN voluntarily recalls My Little Steamer handheld clothing steamers. For information visit cpsc.gov/Recalls/2021/HSN-Recalls-5-4-Million-Handheld-Clothing-Steamers-Due-to-Serious-Burn-Hazard or call 855-654-0942. To register for a recall remedy visit “Steamer Recall Settlement” (turn this into a web address with the end being com).

Thank you, @pipman. Thoughtful of you to post this.

Thank you, so good to see you are posting. Miss you on Friday night Trivia.

Thank you for the info, but the problem is who would still have documentation on this steamer that was bought many years ago.
-
Depending on how old it is, you don’t necessarily need proof of purchase. But you do have to submit a photo showing that you’ve cut the electric cord and it’s no longer useable.

I received notice today. Couple things came to mind
1 – I don’t have the receipt. Order status on the HSN site does not go back far enough to find my order and re-print a receipt.
2 – The most cash/credit I could receive is $8. Why only $8? Does the steamer have that limited of a life expectancy? I can’t purchase a replacement for $8.Disappointed but not surprised.

So now what? Bought the steamer in 2017 for my grandson’s school uniforms. The steamer would spit scalding water on my arms and chest when using it so rather than continually burn myself or my grandson burning himself, I threw it out…. Other than the having the printout of the receipt, I can’t take a picture of the defective unit because it’s long gone. I’m sure there are thousands in the same situation. Where do I go from here?

I actually received an email directly today, highlighting my purchase from a few years ago.
My Little Steamer was an HSN, exclusive. Hang tight, hopefully all who purchased, will receive an email as well.
Thanks @pipman for bringing this to our attention. It appears HSN, is doing their due diligence as well.

I ordered it as well. Does anyone know what the item Title was? Was it My Little Steamer? I was going to try to find it in my order history.

I got the email too with a unique ID #. I still have my unit so I will take the picture BUT it still asks how much I paid and when I purchased it. I can’t find that information as I don’t see that far back on my account but they say to guess if I don’t know. If we don’t get a full refund then I guess it doesn’t matter what I say. Obviously HSN does have records that goes back and they know who purchased it and how much they paid. Wish they could have taken the steps to make it simpler.
