I have never used an oven in all my 63 years. I keep it clean as a whistle and store shoes in it. (In cloth bags). It’s just that broiling or baking is not my thing. I prefer to grill or use my gas stove to cook. So I too might look bewildered in the kitchen, but I would be interested and open to learning. Maybe Miss Brooks could try to be more curious and open, this way she might engage herself as well as the audience.

To support your sentiment, the hosts should be relatable: a host who doesn’t cook at home could position themselves as loving certain items that help them (us) when you’re a cook with limited skills… or if you’re an expert, the host can embody the way in which the item is an asset in your busy kitchen.

These days the hosts are not very relatable, just desperate for the camera to be on them.
