HSN CARD TRANSFERING TO SYNCHRONY BANK
Just went into my HSN charge account. There it was, what going to Synchrony Bank will mean to you. They are horrible to deal with so I am sure I will be through with HSN. QVC has really changed HSN 🙁
-
if you have another mager credit card use that one.
-
I may be mistaken, but I think the TJX Companies uses the same bank.
-
@oodiebom, you are absolutely correct. @shunshine, I totally agree! I called to check balance and amount owe. Was told $25 (just using a number), paid that amount the same day as quote. I don’t like to carry any balance. I get a notice stating late charge, due to amount was higher. I call credit card company, the c.s. got real rude. I didn’t pay over phone this one time. But I’m sure they would have given me the same amount. They will try to get late payments charges on You as much as possible. Which means they can charge with taxes on top. I called back 2 days later, talked to someone who understood what I was saying. Said she would have to discuss with manager. Except manager was in meeting. Said would call back. So, guess where and what I’m doing tomorrow 😐…. Time to cancelled this CC, and find one with low interest, and better customer service

You are right- Synchrony bank is also used by TJX

Synchrony is totally annoying. I chose e-statements and again I didn’t receive email notification. The first time this happened they had the nerve to tack on a late fee on my TJX account. I told them it was their fault and expected them to waive the fee. I won the argument. Keep a close watch on your statement balance due date. And if it happens again I plan on closing any card they hold even HSN/QVC.
-
Same here, never received a notice that my payment was due even though it was always set up that way. I got a notice through snail mail though, along with a late fee. Paid my bill in full now and as soon as it posts, I’m closing my account with HSN. Don’t need this b.s. after years of shopping with them.

-
I wanted to add this thought……If they keep trying to add late fees to my account I plan on closing the credit card and that will include HSN/QVC if need be. Commenity is way better to deal with and the change should not have happened.
-
I could not agree with you more! I hate this whole HSN/QVC merger and I hate Synchrony Bank. I miss Commenity Bank so much 😥

if you have a master card with say’ citi bank or visa card with chase or bank of America’ use that one. dont use manly. hsn sends you to commetity where qvc will send you to collections because qvc have always been there own bank. hsn doesn’t know what you pay commetity capital bank, they dont know what your account is with them but i’ will you this”, qvc surley knows, qvc have been doing srnce with GE money bank back befor commetity and synchorny so dont use your hsn card, instead use another mager csrd from another bank so this way qvc and synchorny will never have an account hysteroy from your own personal privet bank, bogus late charges. when hsn stsrts getting high amounts of complaints pouring in’ against synchrony and qvc, hopefully hsn will listen to us customer’s and switch back to commetity.
-
I would use the Hsn/Qvc card for the extra payments or no shipping etc.. but then transfer the balance to a different card. But… check your apr FIRST!!..
Unless you’re going to pay in full every month. Then I wouldn’t worry.

Evine also uses Synchrony Bank.

Amazon is with this bank. I haven’t had a problem with that account. It may be how each company is set up with them. I even get a reminder from Amazon that it’s due. From what I can recall JCP uses them also and I had the same thing. A courtesy email a few days ahead as a reminder. You may be able to set that up with HSN.
Or you can go old school and have a written calendar with bill due dates on it as a reminder. Some habits are hard to die (thank goodness). 😉 -
Since they started changing over my credit limit keeps dropping each time i make a payment. I have always been a loyal customer and paid on time everytime never late and now Synchrony drops my credit limit after i make a payment So much for the HSN loyalty to its customers. I am going to be done shopping with them, a shame i liked shopping there. oh well I guess HSN doesn’t need the little guy.
-
Yes same here!!! My cl was $2200 has been for 2 years I always use my hsn card have never went over owing $400 they dropped my cl to $500 ! I’m furious! Now it looks like I’ve maxed out my hsn card when I have not I have been very careful not to ever go over $400!
-
I agree with you 100 percent I have been with HSN for years and since the change my credit limit went from 1500 to 100 because I was told they did a random credit check and do to my credit score they had to lower my amount I have never been late with a payment nor have I ever missed a payment always paid early.. so I owe them 65 as of today once I pay them I will just go elsewhere. and shop. thou I like there deals I don’t feel I was treated fairly.

keep watch over your acct if you keep it. Synchrony Bank is terrible in alerting for fraud.
Walmart Cards are moving form Synchrony Bank to Capital One.

AGREE…what a mess

How will I know if my account is switched over ? don’t want any late payment charges
-
Weirdly enough, I believe that we have been told that after the 22nd we can not use the old address to make our payments, but we don’t have a new address. The old one is on the statement that was sent.

Readytoshop, there is a link on HSN home page today directing you to FAQ. The online acct is available until tomorrow. It may be best to make a payment before tomorrow to ensure your account is up to date in payments during the transformation.
The instructions says to go to http://www.hsn.syf.com after Aug 26th to set up an account.
You also may want to take today to download all of your online statements if you have the paper copies as they are not available after tomorrow. -
Tried the link and I get a “Page cannot be displayed” message
-
Shulkie, I think it said the like will be available after Agust 26th when the transfer has completed.

Is anyone else having issues using the HSN card after the transition? I know the accounts won’t be accessible to Synchrony until Monday. However, I’m not able to use my card and no one can tell me anything other than I have full available credit I paid my small balance before this transition.

Hello Everyone,
Oh no, I’ll have to totally disagree. My experience with Comenity was a workout. I’ve been with them for years, and while I had no problem other than paying the bill – lol. I believe they set cardholders up for failure, and I’ll tell you how. First, they did not have a “Monthly Recurring Payment” option. Comenity is my only card that requires you manually pay it each month. To add insult to injury, their system will only allow one (1) payment at a time. It would ruffle my feathers every single one of the 200+ times I had to visit their website over the last ten plus (10+) years. It’s too easy to forget a payment and hurt your credit score.I suggested the change and complained about it each and every month, to no avail. Why wouldn’t they want their payments?
It’s funny, I have to refer to my password book if I want to check on a Synchrony account. You set it up and NEVER have to worry about it again! I’m looking forward to setting up my HSN account with Synchrony. Good luck to everyone out their and GOD bless.

This is exactly the way it is with two of my sisters. Once they had their few items paid off, they discontinued use with that bank. You were right when you stated that they ‘set their customers up for failure”. Definitely NOT a good business model. Thank you for your post. It verified my sisters’ experience. They thought it may be just a ‘fluke’. Seemingly, it’s not. It’s the way they do business. VERY disappointing.

I just spent over 40 minutes on the line with both banks and NOBODY including their managers on both sides can give me my account number in order to register. I was told there is NO WAY I can register because I do not have the HSN number that was with Comenity Bank and I do not have a statement because I get online statement, paperless statements. and I do not have my actual card as this account was opened a while ago. Now, I have to wait for September or October to get a new card and in the mid-time, I will not be able to access my account online or pay my bill online.
This is totally ridiculous. None of those genius that decided to switch bank did not think that some people do not know their account number? any just one way of registering is so not forward thinking and very ancient way of doing things in this century when technology is so advanced. Again, why am I surprised? HSN has gone downhill since the QVC executives took over. We should just wait for the day that it will be announce that HSN is closing entirely.
So frustrating!-
I hope you were able to register your account by now. I had to wait to receive my information in the mail from Synchrony before I could register. The account number was on my statement and it began with a 6.
