Emily Lampa is driving people away from HSN
I’m not thrilled with the recent move and putting hundreds out of work. I’ll write about that more later.
The biggest problem is Emily Lampa with her “look at me” attitude while being completely disingenuous when talking about anything. She always came off poorly but now with higher caliber hosts leaving she comes off as so fake that it’s unwatchable.
I wanted to know if it was just me so I went through the big four social media sites and there are a lot of people sharing the same sentiment.
The last few months at HSN have given viewers an opportunity to see a more candid side of the hosts and the people behind the camera. Emily Lampa is the only one that became more unlikable during that time.
I don’t think she’s right for HSN. Even this new iteration.

I hate to say it but the “I love this or I do this” is off putting; reminds me of Amy at the Q. The constant “friends” saying is obnoxious. Unwatchable, I just mute. I’ve been a customer since the 90’s, the new crop is very self involved

I like her too, she seems very genuine and happy. I guess if you don’t like her you don’t have to watch her.

And therein lies the issue. For most of us, we turn off the channel when she is on. That is our right. It’s also the fact that we LIKE shopping with HSN and we know the REASON we are turning off the channel and telling them (HSN) WHY they are losing money when a certain host comes on. One thing I learned, working for a vendor on the Q, is that when the sales aren’t performing in real time, that vendor gets manic or hard sell to try to get people to buy. They use the “we are running out” or “this is the last of the quantity”, or “it won’t be here by morning so buy now”, etc. They will try to pull tricks out of their sales arsenal to make the numbers jump. If the salesperson is not well liked, the numbers will jump a little, then plateau. That reads “unsuccessful but sort of worked”. Salespeople (like Amy, Callie, Suzanne, Lynn, Bobbi, Adam, Michelle, and even Debbie) who are well liked or opinions are respected, don’t have to resort to those tactics and they are known to “be able to sell anything”. Lou Caputo is a vendor who is known to be able to sell ice to an eskimo in a snowstorm. You might see him and a few other vendors (Liz Folce, the Danielson ladies from Benefit, Skip Borghese, etc) sell more with the “low-performing” hosts to keep sales up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
With Emily and Sarah in particular, the three or four people on this board who are saying we don’t watch them for reasons X, Y, or Z, are only three or four people who are actually posting it on the board. There are literally thousands who are turning off because the hosts turn THEM off. They just don’t post on socials. The numbers don’t lie. HSN will keep the low-performing hosts on but won’t give them many prime spots (unless there is a scheduling problem, illness, etc.) Eventually, their numbers will dwindle and their contracts don’t get renewed.
Make no mistake – and I am ASSUMING to speak for most when I say that we WANT Emily and Sarah to GET BETTER. That’s why we are being so adamant about why we are turning them off.
I didn’t like Debbie at all when she started. She was a little abrasive – but she’s a BIG personality and she HAS toned the yelling down a tad. So the feedback either worked or she realized things and adjusted. I now can watch her without yelling at the TV (kidding) and I don’t mind watching. Sometimes, I actually enjoy her and find myself giggling at some of her comments.
Just my personal insight into what I know to be true in television retail and my own reasons. Just because we don’t say everything’s grand and we like so and so, she’s so pretty, etc doesn’t mean we hate the host. It just means there could be things that could make them better if their numbers are down. Bottom line: it’s NOT personal. We want HSN to succeed. We don’t want them to become QVC and turn into the laughing stock of TV retail.
You are very welcome to disagree with me, but it’s not okay for ANYONE to not allow anyone else to have an opinion. Ultimately, this is HSN’s board and it’s about SALES.

I don’t see nothing bad about Emily, trying her Best, she is doing great job good

On yesterday, I was trying to watch a presentation with Marla Wynne and Emily being the host. It was very difficult. Emily made a comment referencing how the outfit she was wearing would look good with the Filipino woman. It always bothers me when this type of reference is made regarding one’s coloring to clothes. I feel this host is not a good fit for HSN. I definitely am not watching as I used to.

I think Emily is excellent. She gives all the pertinent information and presents herself well. She is a beautiful girl and has a wonderful personality. Some of the comments above are certainly petty and catty.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and its not petty or catty. Most of the hosts that are in PA. are disingenuous (fake) and hard to watch. I’ve been with HSN for over 20 yrs and seen alot of hosts come and go and these last few are not right for TV. The best host they have is Callie and the way she presents items is awesome. She’s classy and gives you information and let’s the vendors speak. She’s genuine and relatable. Also the set is too bright and I honestly turn it on and see the host and change channels. There’s a common theme in the thread and it would be nice to have Management acknowledge that we’re being heard. This is constructive criticism and meant for change for something that we all love (shopping), but this isn’t working the way it is.

I agree 1000%. The only host left that I enjoy is Callie. Emily is awful – if I hear “my friends” one more time, I am going to throw something at my tv…….she is the worst of the new ones that were hired. Truthfully, I find most of the hosts who moved to PA my least favorite to watch. Emily is an instant turn off – she’s gonna save me a lot of money

I’m sorry to hear this. I really like Sarah alot. I have always liked her. I like Emily as well. I don’t see the problem with her. She is excited about what she presents and I like that.
-
You are 100 correct. I’m seeing it on tic tok, insta and Facebook as well ad here and even hidden on the q boards. No one likes her or Sarah for pretty much the reasons that have been brought up here.

Wow I’m very sad to hear that! I really don’t watch much, when I do I really like her,so I’m quite sad to hear this about her.Maybe she’ll please more ppl over time with more experience. Wishing her all the best!
