Effective Oct. 10, 2024 you will not be able to use Chase Credit Cards…
In case you use a Chase Credit Card, you will not be able to use it to pay for third party Buy Now Pay Later installment plans. Payments to these installment plans will be declined. The info should be at the bottom of your bill under YOUR ACCOUNT MESSAGES. You can check the discussions about this problem on the QVC Forums. I called in all of my outstanding easy pays with QVC and HSN and told them to bill me. I called Chase and told them that I have been with Visa since 1982, and they told me I could sign up with Chase and they could put me on a payment plan which I would have to pay a fee for. They were also quite nasty. I was at my Bank today and they are arranging for me to get a new credit card. Bye Bye Chase. I hope this will be helpful to some of you, I don’t know how QVC and HSN are going to handle it. There is very little information about this, and I am sure it is going to cause a lot of confusion.

Thank you pookie123 for giving us a heads-up on this issue. I did not see the notification on my Chase statement. Now I will plan to use a different credit card for easy-pays in the future.

I just called Chase customer service. They said they will honor all HSN easy-pays established prior to Oct 10th. New easy-payment plans will not be accepted after Oct 10th for those vendors on the no-easy-pay list. Chase CS did clarify that automatic bill-pay with your insurance company or utility bills, for example, will continue as normal. I did not get a complete list of vendors who will be excluded from easy-pay. HTH

Hi RBLOVED, it’s good to know that they will continue to pay the auto pays on utilities. I had completely forgotten that I pay for my phone on my credit card. Thanks for the info. 🙂

Thanks for the warning! I appreciate you taking the time to inform us! I personally refuse to pay fees for that sort of thing and always pay off everything before it incurs interest. Luckily, I can do that (plus I try not to purchase things that I cannot pay for immediately should I have to).

Hi Renegade007, I am also fortunate to be able to pay my Credit Card in full each month, I won’t pay interest either. It was convenient though being able to use easy pay every now and then to purchase something I wanted without even noticing the charge. Oh well, everything is changing in our World, or maybe it’s just because I’m getting old and tired. I’m just going to keep my Chase Card and wait to see how the Election goes next month and see what the banks are going to do.

It’s not just QVC and HSN, there are several third-party payment plan providers. I can’t keep track of them all or I would list some names. I see the options when I check out online.

Thank you for this update. Banks make it harder for consumers yet reap incredible benefits.

You are welcome SuzyQ. I don’t think it’s the Banks fault this time, it seems to be the Credit Card Companies, I heard on the news this morning that the Dept. of Justice is investigating Visa and Mastercard for illegal practices, seems they are operating as Monopolies.

Hi just wondering where did you get that information from?

Hi vgaits, I got the information from the bottom of my credit card statement. Then I checked out the QVC Blog because there was nothing being mentioned about it here. They have quite a few comments on their blog. Then I called my credit card company and they verified the information. I thought that I wrote it all above, but I was confused too at first.

HSN and QVC should let us know what to do with any Easy Pays that come due next month and the rest of this year. It could affect your credit score if Chase Visa won’t accept the charges.
