I created and started this thread nearly 14 years ago. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish a great Season to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎I have been shopping and posting on HSN since the late
90’s 😎I have wonderful memories from the HSN we all know and love.

Metastatic cancer is a stage IV cancer invading all areas of the body. It affects the liver, lungs, brain, lymph nodes, and more. Both men and women are diagnosed each year. Additionally, there are different types of metastatic breast cancer. Sadly metastatic breast cancer is a devastating diagnosis to receive. NATIONAL TRAIN YOUR BRAIN DAY
On October 13, National Train Your Brain Day challenges us to some puzzling games and riddles! Whether you play solo or go up against teams, the day improves our thinking power.Exercising the brain is important. Routine activities don’t keep the mind sharp. This day encourages us to expand and exercise our brain and use more of its potential capacity. To do that, we need to break out of our routines and try new activities or relearn old ones. We’ll work on our cognitive skills. To do this, try reading or word puzzles. Number games and brainteasers also improve cognition. Riddles and word games challenge areas of the brain we don’t use every day.

NATIONAL YORKSHIRE PUDDING DAY
National Yorkshire Pudding Day is celebrated on October 13 and honors a traditional English dish brought over by immigrants–Yorkshire pudding! Not to be confused with a dessert, Yorkshire Pudding is a traditional English dish similar to a popover.
Yorkshire is made from a batter and usually served with roast meat and gravy. Cooks in the north of England devised a means of using the fat that dropped into the dripping pans. They created a batter pudding while the meat roasted in the oven. In 1737, one such cook published a recipe for “A Dripping Pudding” in The Whole Duty of a Woman.
-

NATIONAL NO BRA DAY
National No Bra Day on October 13 encourages wearers to leave that bra at home to promote cancer awareness. No Bra Day also promotes breast cancer awareness to help raise money for research.
Many women who have survived breast cancer are unable to go without a bra as they need it to hold their prosthesis after surgery. Additionally, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and No Bra Day should serve as a reminder for all women to be screened for breast cancer. Most types of breast cancer can be treated if caught early.
As you become more familiar with the shape and texture of your breast, take note of any changes. Use the mirror to help you, too. Dimpling, swelling, and redness will be signs to look for.
When you schedule an annual appointment with your physician, make sure a breast exam is completed, too. Tell your doctor about any changes. If you or your doctor notices any signs, the doctor can order tests, including a sonogram or mammogram.
Finally, a preventative mammogram is the last line of defense. Today’s mammograms offer more vivid detail of the breast tissue. Baseline mammograms are provided around the age of 35 unless family history indicates sooner. The baseline mammogram provides a comparison view for your physician should something develop later down the line. Women age 40 and over are recommended to receive yearly preventative mammograms.
Screenings and breast exams are a part of the early detection process. The first line of defense is a monthly self-breast exam. The best time to do a breast exam is about ten days after the onset of your menstrual cycle. However, fickle as breasts can be, we do become familiar with them even if they are lumpy. We learn what’s healthy or not. For example, they change texture over the month. Sticking to the same time each month will provide a more accurate exam. For those who don’t menstruate, choose a day of the month always to perform the exam.

Good morning in S. California. 🎈😎 Taci that picture sounds very interesting if you
can do some research on it I think it would be worth it I am going by your husband liking
the frame this can be a fun project. I am a curious person by nature when it comes to
things I get. 🎈
One of the things I recall about your mother is she did have some interesting things. 💕
Enjoy the trails.
-
@Sheba, I have some info on the picture/print but it’s not valuable print dollar wise, however the frame may be the highlight. However, today I investigated another picture /print that is from my house growing up and dates back to the late 1800’s. It’s from a poet and the original drawing is drawn on the wall of a church in Europe from the 1500’s. It has an interesting note attached to it that may interest someone in the English Dept/Collegiate world. The note is paper and super dry. My Mother reframed the picture and possibly covered any info that was at the base of the drawing. I may end up donating to the college where it was gifted originally but we shall see what else I find.
Hope your niece and her hubs are having a wonderful time now that he is back home! -
Good day in the ‘burgh. 💕🎈😎 Miss you more each day. Be well my friend.

NATIONAL SAVINGS DAY
National Savings Day sets aside October 12 to recognize those who value the act of saving and to provide simple steps to show getting started isn’t as difficult as it may seem.
Many of us already save every day. We’ve been doing it for a long time. We collect sentimental items because they mean something to us and they evoke emotion. These objects come in all forms. For some, it might be a baseball glove that reminds you of playing catch with your dad. Another person may save an engagement ring passed down through generation. Others save boxes full of t-shirts representing years of concerts.
-

NATIONAL GUMBO DAY | OCTOBER 12

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Glad hubby is doing better. I think eating
is a good sign he is getting back on his feet. This is the season when colds and the flu will be showing up. I brought a box of masks
to wear when I go out in the large general public I am not taking any chances.Open market places and shopping are fine. The Grocery Store is where I caught the flu
for the first time and ended up in the ER.I would be very careful this season. All is well in family for now. 🎈💕

Here is to a cooler and comfortable week. 🎈OZ is a bit warm today I still have the windows
open. 😎 -
Good morning in S. California. 😎🎈Taci I read your post from last night. Very interesting
about the lovely not so lovely neighbor. SMH! Really complain about a pet give me a break!People will complain about the time of day good grief!
My Niece will move on the Base in their own house next week. 🎈😎💕
Hubby is deployed until next month and I pray everything goes well.
I will be getting her a house warming gift. I love the story about your mother’s picture. 💕
Taci you are right about one thing we have at least 5 celebrations every month in our
family which includes cousins and some that I have not counted it’s so many. 💕🎈 -
Sheba, Lucky you can text all those Happy Birthday’s to everyone! All your relatives could be their own City.
My parents friends were really lovely people. Once my parents were at their house and it was robbed! Everyone was ok and it made the papers! The picture was in their friend’s doorway as well. I was surprised and happy that my husband said to keep it as he likes the frame. I carried this picture all over the house up and down and back up 🙂
I wont ask what base but lots goes on here at the Thanksgiving/Christmas time with people volunteering to do for the military spouses and children. Btw, when I donate that’s where it all goes. They always like houseware type donations since the military moved around.
We cooled down today but later in the week we might be back to 90.
Have a good evening! -
Good day in the ‘burgh. 🎈😎Lady thinking of you please be well and your family too.

Carole King Lyrics
“Jazzman”Lift me, won’t you lift me above the old routine
Make it nice, play it clean, JazzmanWhen the Jazzman’s testifyin’
A faithless man believes
He can sing you into paradise
Or bring you to your knees
It’s a gospel kind of feelin’
A touch of Georgia slide
A song of pure revival
And a style that’s sanctifiedJazzman, take my blues away
Make my pain the same as yours
With every change you play
Jazzman, oh, JazzmanWhen the Jazzman’s signifyin’
And the band is windin’ low
It’s the late night side of morning
In the darkness of his soul
He can fill a room with sadness
As he fills his horn with tears
He can cry like a fallen angel
When risin’ time is nearJazzman, take my blues away
Make my pain the same as yours
With every change you playOh, lift me, won’t you lift me with every turnaround
Play it sweetly, take me down, oh, Jazzman -

Peace Out Peeps have a nice evening. 😎

Beyond the Sea
Song by Bobby DarinSomewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailin’
Somewhere beyond the sea
She’s there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms
I’d go sailing
It’s far beyond the stars
It’s near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
We’ll meet beyond the shore
We’ll kiss just as before
Happy we’ll be beyond the sea
And never again I’ll go sailing
I know beyond a doubt, ah
My heart will lead me there soon
We’ll meet (I know we’ll meet) beyond the shore
We’ll kiss just as before
Happy we’ll be beyond the sea
And never again I’ll go sailing
No more sailing
So long sailing
Bye bye sailing -

Uplifting and illuminating yellow can bring hope, happiness, fun and cheerfulness to your day! Yellow is the first color the eye notices and relates to intellect, mental clarity and is bolstering to self-confidence. This bright and charming color can help to motivate, enhance your clarity of thought, bring out the creative juices, encourage a positive use of your personal power and energize you!
Sunny yellow is also associated with good luck and a positive future!! This radiant color is associated with the Sun and can help you to manifest goals by shining a light on them. Yellow is the color of friendship and in Feng Shui tradition, it promotes sociability and security. Used in the center of your home, it is believed to enhance the earth energy. Use yellow for spells, rituals or charms centered around breaking mental blocks, when the energies of the Sun or Air is required.
Yellow is the great communicator and is the color of the networker, of the scientist who loves to analyze and look at all sides before making a decision. This bright, cheery color enhances our ability to focus, study and recall information. It is a color that comes from the head rather than the heart and promotes self-reliance. Yellow is also associated with good luck and a future filled with positive energy.
To benefit from the color yellow, you may choose to wear yellow gemstones including citrine, amber, topaz, yellow jade and yellow sapphire. These will give a boost to your sense of self, joy, strength, and inner harmony, especially when worn with intention. -

GENERAL PULASKI MEMORIAL DAY
On October 11, you might see General Pulaski Memorial Day on the calendar and ask yourself, “Who was he, and why do we honor him?” The answer is the incredible story of a Polish nobleman who crossed an ocean to fight for American independence, became a trusted general under George Washington, and is celebrated as the “Father of the American Cavalry.” This day honors a pivotal, foreign-born hero who gave his life for the cause of American freedom.
-

NATIONAL SAUSAGE PIZZA DAY
That irresistible aroma of sizzling sausage, melty cheese, and baked crust… is there anything better? On October 11th, we pay tribute to a true pizza legend on National Sausage Pizza Day! We all have days that ask something different of us.
Some days call for grit—the kind that helps us put one foot in front of the other when life feels heavy.
Other days call for grace—the kind that reminds us it’s okay to rest, breathe, and begin again tomorrow.
Grit & Grace has taught me that real strength isn’t always pushing harder.
Sometimes it’s knowing which one the moment requires.
The wisdom is found in learning the difference. 😎

Hey Sheba, Happy Sunday! I love a lot of your skin care brands.I especially love SKINN foundation.I used to have a lot of products on Autoship which they cancelled over time. And,of course they’re back so expensive now.So I’ve been keeping it simple these days. Thanks for your memories of me going to my sons in NC. I was there in April, and he was down in the summer for work and stayed here for 2 weeks. He’s expected here for the Holidays. Too bad for the Sox it was disappointing…sigh! Watching the Bears ..Yikes not good! I do love the Chiefs!
-
Good day on the Gulf of Florida. 🎈😎 I hope all is well with you and hubby.

Wishing you a nice Sunday.
-
I was with hubs on Saturday and he was under the weather. He could not get comfortable and I was concerned. Turns out that whatever he had kept me indoors on Sunday. It was a 24hr. bug. Today we are both OK. I picked up some Asian food and it was a delight. Hubs enjoyed it also. and when his dinner arrived, he ate everything on his plate. It was more food than I could handle.
We had some rain this morning and the sun finally made an appearance this afternoon. It is still quite muggy and warm. You would think that being October we would be enjoying the Fall season. Not likely. You would assume that the trees would change color just like your area and our other home in New England. Fall here is just falling oak leaves. Trees do not lose all their leaves, but enough to notice the branches. You can count on one hand how many maple trees are around. At least the UV index is down so people are again outside. And, hopefully, that is where I will be tomorrow. morning. I still have the oak trees growing in the middle of my croton. Finally found the right clippers to take them down.
Hope you three are OK. Happy Birthday to your brother. I hope you get a chance to visit with your sister while she is in Georgia. Have a wonderful evening and then some.
-
Good day in S. California. 😎🎈Today is one of my brother’s birthday. My niece is doing
alright she is tired and that is to be expected during Chemo. My niece in your area
have a house on the Base. 💕😎Niece hubby comes home from overseas next month.I have a lot going on in the family.

I am doing a little of this and that today with hubby. 💕🎈
Enjoy the trails and have a great day.
-
Sheba, Happy Birthday to Sheba’s Brother! You probably have lots of Birthdays every month with such a large family.
This morning I changed around the ledge on the stairs and added a huge picture. It was from my Mothers good friends from another State. When the wife passed her husband gave my Mother the picture ( 50 yrs ago maybe?) and she always had it in her entry way. I decided to put it up on the ledge. It’s quite large. It should work out ok for now.
We had some rain and it finally cooled down a bit. If I’m living in all this heat, humidity, and rain then I might as well live somewhere else that’s less crowded. 🙂
Hopefully your niece’s husband will be back to enjoy the Holidays.
Someone up the Street had an interesting story about her “lovely” not so lovely neighbor. While her son was deployed his wife moved in and their dog. Her Neighbor complained to the City that they were over the allowable pet limit. Sheeeeshhhh, can you believe it? They still have trouble with the next door neighbor….. it’s crazy here. LOL. Have a good evening. -
Good day in the ‘burgh. 🎈😎 Wish you were here.

Sending cool vibes to you and Jake as always. 😎🎈

When Life Becomes a Dance Life is a canvas that is never truly finished. Some colors we choose, others arrive without asking. So dance……not because life is always beautiful, but because every step, even the hardest one, can still become part of a beautiful painting.
