The Empire State Building has a long habit of lighting up for the moment, from holidays to championships to the occasional pop-culture wink.
To be clear about who did what here: this was the building’s own gesture. The Empire State Building lit itself blue and posted the “Her something blue” line as a playful public nod. It was not arranged by Taylor Swift, and it is not part of any actual ceremony. The tower simply saw the moment and decided to play along.
The wedding itself is heavily reported but not couple-confirmed. Swift and Kelce got engaged in August 2025, with Swift joking that “your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Multiple outlets have reported the festivities are happening in New York this week, connected to Madison Square Garden, with July 3 as the big day. But the two of them have kept every detail private and personally confirmed nothing.
So the “something blue” belongs to New York, not to the guest list. And a skyline choosing to celebrate a wedding it wasn’t invited to might be the most New York thing that’s happened all year.

We have a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:00 tonight.⛈️ Right now it is sunny and hot. Next week we will be in the upper 80s.

Taking it easy today, cooking hamburgers with macaroni salad for dinner.🍔 Glad all went well at MSG yesterday. I had to Google to see if Pat and Brittany were there because I didn’t see their names mentioned once but a lot of other football players names were listed. I think everybody they ever met was there, LOL!

Will be getting on my broom and hitail it to NYC;. I know how to get to MSG. It will be the quickest way to get there. Have gown will travel. I’m wearing blue.

Was in the shower when everything hit all at once. Pounding headache then lower back. Still going to try to get to the Farmer’s Market. I need something to take the edge off. Been raining on and off most of the afternoon. Even had a thunder storm. Temp is almost 90 with very high humidity. Feels like it is over 100.

Take care. Please try to rest while the temp is not cooperating. We will be getting a cool down sometime next week. I will not be holding my breath.

Just walked through the door. Beautiful sunset in coral. However, too cloudy to see the stars or the moonlit sky. More rain expected within an hour or so. Some streets are flooded. I didn’t think we had that much rain. Oh well.

I did stop at the Farmer’s Market. They had crab legs on sale. I was afraid to take a chance since they were frozen. However, the people behind the counter offered to give me some ice to keep them from thawong free/ I had to turn them down. My ice thing would have been too heavy to make it to the house or through the front door. They will be on sale next week. I managed to pick up fruit that was already cubed. These included pink pineapple, papaya, dragon fruit and watermelon. Hubs will have a good time tomorrow. I also brought him an Italian agrinder which he absolutely loved. I have some extra for tomorrow. The lobster salad roll was exquisite. The lobster was sweet and fresh. I also included the dark cherries. What a feast for tomorrow.

Yes, I am feeling much better. Just hope it stays this way through the heat, humidity and the rain tomorrow. Because of the extreme heat, the rehab telephone line and their wifi went down yesterday afternoon. I did try to reach them to no avail. Found out this morning what had happened. I recommended a backup plan even though the nurses and aides all have cells. However, family members do not have access to them.

Guess I better put the food away. Have a great evening. Cannot wait to see the pictures of the new bride and groom.

Hi. I was all set to hit the shower and then go to the Farmer’s Market when all h-ll broke loose. Got a nasty headache and took my meds and slept for 3 hrs. Woke up with still a pounding head and this time took the sinus meds with more meds and finally the pain subsided. It’s now too late to visit hubs, so will try again tomorrow. Rain is expected in a half hour or so. We did not get the severe weather that was expected yesterday. Very humid and cloudy night with temps in the mid 90s. Hubs hasn’t had his favorite grinder in some time from the Farmer’s Market. I will try to get there tomorrow. His big misses are the hotdogs from Costco and the Italian grinder from the Farmer’s Market. They also have one of my favorites on sale and that is the Lobster roll.

Please give us all; the highlights on the big wedding tomorrow. Who wore what and the venue. Wish I could be a fly on the wall or ceiling. Should be a beautiful affaiar. Have a wonderful evening. Glad your headache is gone. Finally…..

Glad to see uou up and about. Please limit your time outside until the headache is gone completely. I am about to take a shower and go to see hubs. The Farmer’s Market started a day early on their ad and it is a huge hit for me. I will try to get there tomorrow before any storms hit. They are still predicting severe thunderstorms. So far no tornado warnings. I need to be with hubs before they hit. So far just lower back pain. Shower should do wonders for that. Maybe let Poppy have a run to his tree and wait until later for that walk. Temp right now is equivalent to 106 and still climbing. UV is high also. Guess hubs will need to stay indoors. Actually, all doors are locked. Guess those who still smoke will need to find another place. Definitely will not be in the building.

Hope you are feeling better. I am positive that the weather has tons to do with our headaches. I did not see hubs today. Headache started just prior to the sky losing the sun. It rained on and off most of the day. Severe thunderstorms for tomorrow. I am hoping to leave here late morning to make a stop at the Farmer’s Market and then on to the Rehab. Hubs was at the reception desk on and off today. He is more than concerned. I have my meds all set to go with me and will hand them to hubs.

It is mostly cloudy again tonight. Guess I will be missing the June moon. /The heat index is high here also. We never saw spring. Rain chances tomorrow is over 80$. Stay safe.

Two nights ago I slept like a baby.👶 Last night was the complete opposite – couldn’t get comfortable, too warm, coughing and downright miserable. Had to move to the other bedroom. I may have slept about two hours. I have to do a couple bills, then I am sitting down and watching Wimbledon. I hope Serena does well, at least win the first round match.👍

Getting tired of saying this but I hope we both feel better soon. Cool hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

Try putting some ice cubes in a glass or cup. It sort of helps with the cough. Seems the coughing is worse when you are trying to sleep. Maybe try sitting up. That usually helps me and keeps me sane. Take care and hope you and hubs feel better soon.

When not feeling well, I always have a bottle of water on my nightstand so I don’t have to get out of bed to get a drink. I’m one step ahead of you on sleeping upright. When I had my heart surgery years ago, I wasn’t allowed to sleep on my side and sleeping flat on my back was not comfortable. So I started sitting partially upright with my pillow behind me. To this day, that is how I sleep. Thanks for the well wishes, sending them back to you.😊

Oops….bottled water is OK. Try sucking on an ice cube to stifle the on going coughing. Sometimes this is better than cough syrup. It gets rid of that tickle or whatever is causing those muscles to make you cough incessantly. Even a cool or cold compress against the throat is sometimes helpful. The coughing spells usually mean that it may be on it’s way out. Just be careful what you eat and drink.This, too, shall pass.
