This is number 33 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread going on 12 years. 😎🎈

I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎I have been shopping and posting on HSN since the late
90’s 😎I have wonderful memories from the HSN we all know and love.

    Spirits (Having Flown)
    Song by Bee Gees

I never fell in love so easily
Where the four winds blow I carry on
I’d like to take you where my spirit flys
    Through the empty skys
We go alone never before having flown
Faster than lightning is this heart of mine
In the face of time I carry on
I’d like to take you where my rainbow ends
    Be my lover friend
We go alone never before having flown
    I am your hurricane
    Your fire in the sun
How long must I live in the air
    You are my paradise
    My angel on the run
    How long must I wait
It’s the dawn of the feeling
That starts from the moment you’re there
You’ll never know what you have done for me
You broke all those rules I live upon
I’d like to take you to my shangrila
Neither here or far away from home
    Never before having flown
There I’d like to take you where my spirit flys
Through the empty skys we go alone
    Never before having flown

Red is the dance of the soul upon the stage of life…it moves not to be seen, but to burn away the cold within the heart. Every motion is a spark born from sorrow, every turn a prayer seeking meaning. And within that flame, we learn … that love, like the red dance, is not always gentle, but always true.

      @sheba2011

I contacted our dentist in Ct. and was told that he would need an appointment for new implants. After explaining our predicament found that any dentist in Florida would be able to assist with this problem providing that they had a reputation and history for implants. I again reached out to the social service unit and they said that if the implants were left on the food tray and were wrapped in tissue, it would have been discarded. Another scenario is that they were left on the bed and when the aides changed the linens they could have been wrapped up for laundry. The supervisor in Social Services will check both departments. I have a dentist here and will check on the implants in case these are not found.

Hubby slept through my visit. This is not like him and will try to see him earlier today. I need to stop at the farmer’s market for some of their sale items.

Speaking of gas prices and heating our home. Wow, even electric is through the roof. This is the main reason why I cut the A/C when I get up in the AM. Even the rehab has gone up in price. And they still skimp on the meals. Hubby’s roommate constantly complains However, if he eats in his room, he will end up in the dining room and invariably he gets another meal.

Our temps will drop this week. Mid 70s will be the high and the lows will be 50s. However, don’t blink. This only lasts a few days and then it’s back to reality with temps in the mid 80s and low 70s.

Milton Hershey knew what it felt like to fail.
Before he became the “Chocolate King,” he’d failed spectacularly—twice. His first candy business in Philadelphia went bankrupt. His second attempt in New York collapsed too. At 30 years old, he was broke, in debt, and living back with his parents in rural Pennsylvania.
Most people would have quit. Milton tried again.
By 1900, he’d finally succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. The Hershey Chocolate Company was making him millions. He’d built an entire town—Hershey, Pennsylvania—around his factory, complete with homes, parks, and trolley lines for his workers. He married Catherine “Kitty” Sweeney, the love of his life, and they built a mansion overlooking his chocolate empire.
They had everything. Except the one thing they wanted most: children.
Kitty couldn’t have biological children. In an era before adoption was common among wealthy families, the Hersheys faced a choice: they could live out their lives in comfort, or they could do something radical.
      In 1909, they chose radical.
Milton and Kitty founded the Hershey Industrial School—a boarding school for orphaned boys who had nowhere else to go. Not a charity that sent monthly checks. Not a foundation with their names on a building. A real home where children without families could live, learn, and build futures.
The school started with just four boys. Milton and Kitty personally interviewed each one, making sure they felt wanted, not pitied. The boys lived in homesteads with house parents, attended classes, learned trades, and—crucially—were treated with dignity and love.
Kitty poured herself into the school, visiting constantly, learning the boys’ names, asking about their dreams. She saw them not as charity cases but as the children she’d never have.
When Kitty died suddenly in 1915 at just 42 years old, Milton was devastated. Friends assumed he’d abandon the school project—it had been their dream together, and now she was gone.
      Instead, he doubled down.
In 1918, Milton Hershey made a decision that shocked the business world: he transferred the majority ownership of the Hershey Chocolate Company—valued at $60 million at the time—into a trust for the school.
Not a portion of his wealth. Not his personal fortune. The entire company.
Every Hershey bar sold would now fund the education of orphaned children. Every Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, every Hershey’s Kiss—all of it feeding into a trust that would care for children long after Milton was gone.
Business associates thought he’d lost his mind. “What if the school fails?” they asked. “What if the company struggles?”
Milton’s response was simple: “If I wanted to build monuments to myself, I would have done it already. I want to build futures for kids who have none.”
He expanded the school, building more homesteads, hiring more teachers, admitting more students. Boys who’d been living in orphanages or on the streets now had warm beds, three meals a day, education, healthcare, and a genuine chance at life.
When Milton Hershey died in 1945 at age 88, he’d given away virtually his entire fortune. He died modestly, in a small apartment in the Hershey Hotel, surrounded by photos of the children his school had helped.
But here’s what makes this story extraordinary: it didn’t end with his death. It got bigger.
Today—79 years after Milton died—the Milton Hershey School serves over 2,000 students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Every single one attends completely free. No tuition. No fees.
      The school provides:
Housing in family-style homes with house parents
All meals, clothing, and school supplies
      Medical and dental care
      College prep and vocational training
      Extracurricular activities and athletics
      Career counseling and college scholarships
And the Hershey Trust? It now manages over $17 billion in assets, making it one of the wealthiest educational institutions in America. Every year, millions of chocolate bars fund thousands of childhoods.
The school has evolved too. It’s no longer just for orphaned boys—it serves students from low-income families, single-parent homes, and challenging circumstances. Boys and girls. All races and backgrounds. Any child who needs a chance gets one.
Over 11,000 alumni have graduated since 1909. Doctors, teachers, business owners, military officers, artists, engineers—children who started with nothing, given everything they needed to build something.
Because one man remembered what it felt like to fail. And when he succeeded, he didn’t ask, “How much can I keep?” He asked, “How many lives can I change?”
Milton Hershey never had biological children. But he’s a father to thousands. And every time someone opens a Hershey bar, they’re participating in a century-long act of generosity that shows no signs of stopping.
There’s a statue of Milton Hershey on the school campus. He’s not depicted as a wealthy industrialist in a suit. He’s shown kneeling beside a young boy, eye to eye, hand on the child’s shoulder.
That’s how he saw them. Not as charity cases or tax deductions or PR opportunities. As his children. The ones he and Kitty never had biologically, but loved just the same.
The chocolate empire is still massive. The Hershey’s brand is known worldwide. But Milton Hershey’s real legacy isn’t candy—it’s the thousands of children who grew up knowing that someone they never met believed they deserved a chance.
Most billionaires leave their money to children who’ll inherit comfort. Milton Hershey left his entire company to children who’d inherit nothing—and gave them everything instead.
That’s not just philanthropy. That’s love turned into institution. That’s grief transformed into hope. That’s one couple’s dream of parenthood becoming thousands of childhoods worth living.
Every Hershey bar is sweet. But the story behind it? That’s even sweeter.

      Michael Jackson Lyrics
      “This Is It”

      Ready?
      One, two, three, four

This is it, here I stand
I’m the light of the world, I feel grand
Got this love, I can feel
And I know yes for sure, it is real

And it feels as though I’ve seen your face a thousand times
And you said you really know me too yourself
And I know that you have got addicted with your eyes
But you say you gonna live it for yourself, oh

I never heard a single word about you
Falling in love wasn’t my plan (My plan)
I never thought that I would be your lover
      Come on, baby, just understand

This is it, I can say
I’m the light of the world, runaway
We can feel, this is real
Every time I’m in love, that I feel

And I feel as though I’ve known you since a thousand years
And you tell me that you’ve seen my face before
And you said to me you don’t want me hanging ’round
Many times wanna do it here before, oh yeah

I never heard a single word about you
Falling in love wasn’t my plan (My plan)
I never thought that I would be your lover
      Come on, baby, just understand

This is it (This is it), I can feel (I can feel)
I’m the light of the world, this is real
Feel my song, we can say
And I tell you I feel that way

And I feel as though I’ve known you for a thousand years
And you said you want some of this yourself
And you said you wanna go with me all the while
And I know that it’s really true myself, oh yeah

I never heard a single word about you
Falling in love wasn’t my plan (My plan)
I never thought that I would be your lover
Come on, please dear, understand (Understand)
      Ah-ayy
I never heard a single word about you
Falling in love wasn’t my plan (My plan)
I never thought that I would be your lover

Mizrahi presented his first collection in 1987 at a trunk show held by New York department store Bergdorf Goodman. The line immediately earned praise from fashion editors, prompting several top retailers to place orders. In 1989, he discussed his designs in an interview with Elizabeth Cannon. He described them as “controlled and glamorous”, “elegant”, “distilled, refined”, inspired by decadence, and by the diversity of New York City. He also expressed his interest in appealing to a refined and exclusive clientele. In 1992, the French fashion house Chanel bought a stake in the company and began to bankroll its operations.Despite continued critical acclaim, sales were inconsistent; Bloomingdale’s executive Kal Ruttenstein stated that Mizrahi had “good years and bad years.”This volatility is mainly attributed[by whom?] to the designer’s failure to establish a defined aesthetic or “Mizrahi look”, as the frenetic designer was famed for changing gears each season. Though the company grossed $10–20 million a year, it never made a profit, and lost substantial amounts[clarification needed] in its final four years of operation. Chanel eventually tired of the mounting losses and pulled financing in October 1998, forcing the closure of the company after the Fall 1998 collection.Among Mizrahi’s fans and clients were Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman, Selma Blair, Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker, Debra Messing and Natalie Portman.

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Oodie wishing you a nice Sunday.
I hope you are able to find your husband’s things.

Oz is cool and rainy and I am fine with that. I am making a meat loaf with gravy
and all the trimmings hubby will love it. 😎💕😘

One of the things going on in my family is my brother had to put down his pet dog.
The poor baby had cancer the family is very upset about this as we all loved her.
I am keeping busy so I don’t have to think about. The pet is at Rainbow Bridge now. 💕

Oodie good luck with all your projects and be careful. 🎈

      @sheba2011

So sorry to hear about your brother’s best pal. Never easy to make that decision and we always hope for the best. Time will heal and the memories will always bring a smile. My heart goes out to your family. Years later I still miss Mensch (my stray) and Ziggy who adopted us, though lived next door. Both were tigers and the best of friends. I also had another kitty, Felix, who had tongue cancer. We were able to keep him a bit longer than the vet thought. We changed his diet and that seemed to give him a bit longer. Still it was heartbreaking at the end. Never easy to lose a member of the immediate family.

Hubby’s eyeglasses have been found and they are in their cases in his nightstand. I just hope and pray that the aids do not take them. What I am thinking of doing is to bring them home with me and bring them with me on a daily basis. The teeth are my biggest concern. If they were left on the tray, the kitchen staff will discard them. And the same thing could occur if they were left on the bed. This is extremely disconcerting for me. He is not getting the help he needs and I do not care for the help’s attitude. I will be contacting our dentist Monday to see if there is anything they can do or make a suggestion. Going through the process was terrifying for both of us. The anesthesia wore off before all the posts were put in. For some reason the Periodontist refused to add more Novocain. The other problem was that he also forgot to contact the pharmacy for pain killers. The office staff could not do it without his permission and though I made several phone calls they could not reach the dentist. I had to contact our regular dentist to get the meds. He was up all night and I was worried sick that he may have a stroke. When he started to feel a bit better, we made the decision to head to the Cape and on route we stopped at our favorite supermarket and Trader Joe’s to pick up food that he could swallow and not have any adverse reactions. We had the meds which helped. This was the beginning of me making puree foods, though Trader Joe had numerous items that just needed to be warmed. I think if anything can be done at this point, I will make them permanent. At the time he was going through the decision, the price was cost prohibitive. And of course, the aides are not helping him to brush his teeth and the posts. Because of this, the implants become loose and fall out. His short term memory is not good, though there are many days when he is fine. There are new prescriptions out there that would help him, but my complaining goes on deaf ears. I cannot wait to get him home. I just hope that the people I chose this time around will be able to make the improvements necessary to bring him home.
I will update as we go along on these new adventures.

      @oodiebom,

Good Evening very chilly and rainy in Oz well Fall is here. I have one fireplace on
I refuse to turn on the heat that will come sooner rather than later. 😎💕

I have several beautiful throws I use in the bedroom and the living room these are really warm.
Let me say Gas is not cheap in OZ to heat the home and this is huge house. So only when
the temps are in the 30’s. This has been a dark rainy day. 😎

I see your list is still been worked on. I am glad you found his glasses at least he can
read. The dental is important too and I hope you are able to work that out. I don’t think
they will ever be found. I agree with you about taking certain things home for personal
      concerns. Good idea. 😎

Oodie good luck with everything you are working on. Thank you for your thoughts on the
family pet. My phone is silent everyone is in their thoughts and feelings. 💕

If you blink you will miss the beautiful black cat in this pic. 💕😎I have a black cat I have
feeding and taking care of for years. I wish he would come in by the fireplace just like
      this pic. 😎😘🎈

Oodie wishing you a nice calm and peaceful night as tomorrow is another day.

Thank you again for your thoughts on our family pet. 💕

As you know, I understand how you feel, the one and only drawback of having a pet. They never live long enough.😢So hard…..

Meatloaf is one of my hub’s favorite meals. Just read in the food section of the newspaper today that someone had engraved on their mother’s headstone “she made the best meatloaf.”🤣

Hubs going to the hockey game tomorrow night so I’ll be all into the Chiefs game. Good luck!🤞 Lots of hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

      tomorrow.

Thank you for the shout out on the Game tomorrow. Well here we go again. 😎

Thank you for your thoughts on the family Pet it hurts every time this happens.
My brother is not answering his phone so I will give him some space.

I am still up feeding the cats and Poppy keeps looking at me. Hmm. I think I better
take him out for moment. I am going to take hot Korres Shower and just rest for
      the evening.

    Thriller
    Song by Michael Jackson

    It’s close to midnight
Something evil’s lurking in the dark
    Under the moonlight
You see a sight that almost stops your heart
    You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
    You start to freeze
As horror looks you right between the eyes
    You’re paralyzed
‘Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one’s gonna save you
From the beast about to strike
You know it’s thriller, thriller night
You’re fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller, ow
    I’m gonna thrill you tonight
    Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y’all’s neighborhood (I’m gonna thrill you tonight)
    And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of
And rot inside a corpse’s shell
I’m gonna thrill you tonight (thriller night, babe)
The foulest stench’s in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb (I’m gonna thrill you tonight)
Are closing in to seal your doom (oh, yeah)
And though you fight to stay alive
    Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
    The evil of the thriller
‘Cause this is thriller, thriller night
There ain’t no second chance against the thing with 40 eyes, girl
    Thriller, thriller night
You’re fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller
‘Cause this is thriller, thriller night
‘Cause I can thrill you more than any ghoul would ever dare try
    Thriller (ooh-ooh), thriller night
So let me hold you tight and share a
Killer, thriller, killer, thriller here tonight

      Jackson 5 Lyrics
      “Never Can Say Goodbye”

Never can say goodbye (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      No, no, no, no, I
Never can say goodbye (Never can say goodbye, girl)

Even though the pain and heartache
Seems to follow me wherever I go
Though I try and try to hide my feelings
      They always seem to show
Then you try to say you’re leaving me
And I always have to say no
Tell me why (Tell me why)
Is it so (Is it so)

That I never can say goodbye (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      No, no, no, no, I
Never can say goodbye (Never can say goodbye, girl)

Every time I think I’ve had enough
I start heading for the door
      There’s a very strange vibration
Piercing me right to the core
It says, “Turn around, you fool
You know you love her more and more.”
Tell me why (Tell me why)
Is it so (Is it so)
      Don’t wanna let you go

I never can say goodbye, girl (Never can say goodbye, girl)
Ooh, ooh, baby (Don’t wanna let you go, girl)
      I never can say goodbye
      No-no-no, no-no-no (No-no-no)
      Ooh, oh
I never can say goodbye, girl (Never can say goodbye, girl)
Ooh-ooh (Don’t wanna let you go, girl)
      I never can say goodbye
      No-no-no, no-no-no (No-no-no)
      Ooh
Never can say goodbye (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      No, no, no, no, I
Never can say goodbye (Never can say goodbye, girl)

I keep thinking that our problems
Soon are all gonna work out
But there’s that same unhappy feeling
And there’s that anguish, there’s that doubt
It’s the same old dizzy hang up
Can’t do with you or without
Tell me why (Tell me why)
Is it so (Is it so)
      Don’t wanna let you go

I never can say goodbye, girl (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      Ooh-ooh, baby (Baby)
      I never can say goodbye
      No-no-no, no-no-no (No-no-no)
      Ooh, oh
I never can say goodbye, girl (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      Ooh, oh (Hey, baby)
      I never can say goodbye
      No-no-no, no-no-no (No-no-no)
      Ooh, ow, girl
I never can say goodbye, girl (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      Ooh-ooh, baby (Hey, baby)
      I never can say goodbye
      No-no-no, no-no-no (No-no-no)
      Ooh-ooh
I never can say goodbye, girl (Never can say goodbye, girl)
      Ooh, now, ha (Hey, baby)

To be still is not to surrender …. sometimes it is how the soul calms the storm. Yet time never halts; it grinds down the hesitant and leaves behind the resigned. Then comes the moment to move, not to chase, but to accept. To accept that every wound holds meaning, and every step is part of healing.

The carport is flooded, but the cars and tires are fine. The plants are happy. It was very windy with temps in the mid 80s. Though the computer said high humidity, I could not feel it. The wind really helped to keep it cool. Sitting outside for the first time in months was awesome. I probably will have a sinus attack later due to the wind which may have been 36-40mph when you factor in the gusts.

I did the homework on the next business to contact for the remodel. This one has an A+ rating as well. From what I have read, they will look at the entire house and the bathrooms (not just the one I feel would do the job). This company also has a showroom where you get to see everything including the flooring and vanity. I’m hedging towards a tiled floor and walls. My neighbor next door mentioned that I should also look at the acrylic. She thinks the acrylic stands out more. We shall see. I will make that call next week.

Hubby is doing OK. Last Sunday I found that his upper implants were loose. He mentioned that they were in his mouth. I should have taken it at that time but he said he can still use them. I had skipped seeing him on Monday thru Wednesday so I could spend the time doing the research on other remodelers. I was with him both Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, I could not find his new glasses. There were two pair. Both were missing. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she had two pairs of prescription glasses on her desk. It turned out to be hubby’s. I hunted for the implants in his room. Friday I left a message with the Social Worker. As of now, nothing. I will be contacting our family dentist in Ct. to see what I can do. I’m sure they have a record and picture. These are not cheap. I surmise he took them out of his mouth and either put them on the bed or on his tray with a meal. No, the aides do not look. They just grab the tray and leave. I must admit that some are better than others. Still no word on our favorite aide. I assume he quit due to his back injury.

Greetings this Saturday afternoon. Yes, it is Fall here also with leaves and temps.🍂🍁

I was able to get mom a pair of kid’s slippers yesterday – Squishmallows – she loves them! I hope she can walk okay in them at the party.

I haven’t started the large Skinn bottle yet as I have an open smaller bottle I’ve been using. But I do really like the lip oil, I have used that a couple times.

Games all over the place this evening, take your pick.🏈🏒⚾ I’m sure hubs will be flipping around. Relax, sending big hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

Good evening Oz is still raining and will be very chilly tonight. So extra blankets on the
bed. I am looking out of the security camera and I have one more cat to feed. 😎

I have had a busy day going from one place to another with hubby. I am still keeping
an eye on my neighbor’s house

who is in Barcelona, Spain having a very good time. 😎😎

We have a luncheon date when she gets back. 😎🎈

Lady June Locket has passed she was 100 years old. June had a life well lived.
I do see re-runs of Lassie and she has been in a great deal of movies. May she RIP!

Lady I am also staying in touch with my older neighbor who has the Shingles. I mean
it’s pretty bad. I knew his wife for years and she passed a few years ago they have a grown
daughter and she has been over every single taking of him. 💕

There is Ice Skating on and I am trying to catch up so you are right there is a lot to pick
      from. 😎

Enjoy your evening and keep warm. 💕😎 I hope the same for all my cats out there.
