National Frankenstein Friday, on the last Friday in October, recognizes Frankenstein as one of the best-known horror characters of all time. It’s a day to also honor the author Mary Shelley, the characters she created in the novel.

I saw hubs last night. He loved the strawberry cheesecake. However, in getting the plastic top off some of the strawberries ended up near my thumb. Within seconds that area swelled and more so as I made a dash to their bathroom. Returning to hubby I took the sinus meds but had to forgo the Benadryl because it makes me sleepy. Could not wait to return home. Prior to the dessert I gave him some of the Acorn Squash soup with Apples. He devoured it. I will bring more the next time since I also purchased a large container. I actually left for home within seconds of my thumb area swelling. As I drove onto our street, I was able to take the Benadryl. I am fine. No after effects.

I have notified the rehab receptionist that I will he home this evening. I actually do not wish to be out and about on Halloween.

It is 69 degrees as I type and partly sunny. The humidity is 68%. No rain for the next seven days. I will need to water periodically. Have a great afternoon and evening.

Oodie I did not know just by touching certain foods you can break out I knew eating
some would cause annoying problems. Please take it easy. I am sure hubby enjoyed
your treats you brought him. 💕

I too would have waited to take the Benadryl. This will make you sleepy and you don’t
want that when driving. Learn something new everyday.

Oz is chilly tonight and tomorrow we have a frost freeze warning. I have covered my
plants and flowers. 💕I would just rest for evening and do nothing and keep an eye
on that hand.

Oodie I managed to get all the animals fed before the crowd came I was very concerned
because people like to mess with cats. Well not on my watch. We made it through another

Going to hop into a shower shortly and then put things together for hubs. I tried the apple and squash soup. It was different and delicious. However, since I had no idea what ingredients were used, I tried just a couple of teaspoons and there were no meds needed. I will also include the strawberry cheesecake which is pureed and a few cookies. These should help with the hunger pangs.

I rested today and it was a welcome relief. I should have waited an extra day on the adventure with the Farmer’s Market. Their ad for this week is real good. Guess I will return either tomorrow or sometime next week. Like everyone else I am watching the prices in food shopping. It’s crazy. But, it’s not only food. Clothing, linens, furniture, etc. are also part of this list.

It just dawned on me that Mount Dora, was also hit with street flooding and wind gusts. If I remember correctly, xango doesn’t live too far from this area. It is close to Plant City which hosts the yearly Strawberry Festival in February. I hope and pray that she and her husband are OK along with the wildlife she feeds.

My hair salon closed the business October 1st and the person I used decided to retire. However she did recommend someone who was very good. I met her a few weeks prior to the closing. They moved and the directions were a bit garbled and even Google was no help. It kept coming up with another Salon in the area. Anyway, after trying to contact the new person I finally reached her this morning. Her directions were awesome. What a cute place. Alot smaller than the one previously, but the same people and the same name. The atmosphere so much warmer and so cute. They also had a table set up with choice of soda, tea and coffee. I actually could have gone for the coffee, but since I had other plans decided to wait until next time. Starting with Thanksgiving they have a buffet table with tons of goodies. The building they are in has an outdoor terrace with a settee and a couple of chairs. The warmth is spread all over. Best of all, I am happy with her results.

On the way home, I stopped at the Farmer’s Market. They had a new homemade soup wihich I purchased. It was a squash soup with apples. I took a few spoonful’s when I arrived home. Will bring the rest for hubby tomorrow. I was afraid of sulfites and needless to say, I had no reaction.
I was so exhausted from the day, decided to stay home. Oh, found a puree strawberry cheesecake. I know hubby will devour it in one swoop. Also homemade tapioca pudding without sugar. They had tons of apples. All sorts. It’s hubs favorite fruit. But I will wait a bit. I want to be sure he will be able to swallow it without having a coughing fit. I spent over two hours at the Farmer’s Market. Then had to unload the trunk. Over 20 bags of groceries. My frig is very happy.

Weather was hot and humid with temps in the mid 80s. Humidity was 80%, No rain expected. Tonight we will be in the 70s. Tomorrow through Saturday we will have a taste of fall with temps in the low to mid 70s during the day and 50-55 degrees at night. The sweaters are out and so are the sweatshirts.

Hope you have electricity and all is well. The storm that hit the Panhandle and the East Coast was totally unexpected until almost the last minute. Where it hit is part of our route North. Not to worry, we will not be heading that way until the spring. Take care and have a wonderful evening.

National Internal Medicine Day recognizes the impact of approximately 300,000 Internal Medicine Physicians on October 28. Let’s take time to acknowledge a group of individuals who provide patients specialized care.

WILD FOODS DAY

Wild Foods Day on October 28th is the annual celebration to encourage people to explore foraging for food found the wild. This day inspires us to learn about the traditional gathering of food, how to identify wild edibles, and how to safely prepare food for consumption.

NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY

October 28th sets aside National First Responders Day to honor the men and women who act quickly when an emergency is at hand.

Erté, The Father of Art Deco
No other fashion designer had greater influence in the 20th century than Erté. His flamboyant designs defined one of the most opulent and iconic decades in history: the 1920s. Spanning many areas of visual culture, including illustrations for fashion magazines, costumes for opera and ballet, and sculpture and set design for theater, Erté’s signature style set the tone for the modern era.
Erté was born as Romain de Tirtoff in 1892 to a wealthy family in St. Petersburg, Russia. When he was five, he stunned his parents by creating his first beautiful fashion design. It was a passion that took over his life. His father expected him follow in the family footsteps and become a naval officer, but Romain had other plans.
At 18, he changed his name to Erté (to avoid disgracing the family name) and became the apprentice for famed designer Paul Poiret in Paris. In 1915, he scored an enviable contract with Harper’s Bazaar to design more than 200 covers. In the 1920s, Erté introduced the world to “art-deco,” a style illustrating the elegance, sophistication, and playfulness of the jazz age.
Erté would go on to designs sets and costumes for a staggering roster of stars including Josephine Baker, Anna Pavlova and Mary Garden. He pieced together glitzy, sexy little showgirl costumes for the Ziegfeld Follies, spending hours inspecting every detail of the glamorous, extravagant gowns created for films. His gowns were painstakingly hand-made with beads, fur trim, lace, sheer draperies, leather, and glittering embroidery.
By World War II, however, the lust for his extravagance diminished, as society grew more practical. But his career revived in the 1960s.
The famous fashion designer died in 1990, at the age of 97. His elegant, intricate works continue to inspire artists and designers worldwide. His work remains a cornerstone of Art Deco fashion.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I can see why you watch the Tropics the news is
full of reports on Melissa in the Caribbean. I pray this does not do a lot of damage it
does not look good.

I did read your post from last night and still your plate is full. I do hope you can get
your husband’s dental worked out. I feel better yet they actually find it in the laundry.

The implants have been found. I was able to wash them before handing them to hubs. Tomorrow I will bring toothbrush and cleaner with me. They are packed in the tote. I will also make hubs clean the posts and to floss. For now, I will not need to make a dental appointment for him.

Have my hair appointment tomorrow. She is in a new building and I was hoping to make a dry run this afternoon. But I didn’t make it out of the house until I saw hubs. By the way, he was up and very alert when I arrived and it stayed that way until the winter chill set in from the A/C.

These hurricanes are brutal. I am praying for Kingston, Jamaica. They have had rain since Sunday. People on vacation and honeymooning were not able to leave the island. All services were stopped before the weekend. Beaches on the East Coast of Florida are now closed due to high seas and rip currents. Florida’s panhandle was hit with a vicious storm yesterday. I never saw that coming. That area is now flooded and many homes were lost due to winds and maybe a tornado. Not sure if there was any warning prior to the storm. Knock on wood, we are OK.

Good Evening our power was off and on this evening. We are holding study so far.
We are having high winds and it’s affecting a lot of areas.

I feel for Jamaica I have seen the devastation on all the news media stations.
So sad and this is the worst they have had ever. I am surprised your State had
some ripple yesterday. Mother Nature is very busy.

We have had rain since Saturday the leaves are still falling. This is Fall. 💕

Oodie I knew you would find your husband’s implants and I am so glad he does
not have to go through all the loopholes to get them replaced.

I would get a goodnights sleep and think about everything tomorrow. I am glad your
area did not get hit as there has been enough damage over the years.

Very breezy day here, it looked like it was snowing leaves. So many down, so many yet to fall. I did some grocery shopping for mom. Hubs trapped another coon overnight so he was on release duty this morning.🦝

Good Evening I know it is late but our power is going on and off and I hope it stays on
long enough for me to finish the thread for tonight. We have high winds tonight so
different areas in our City is being affected. I got a text letting me know the power company
is on it.😎I am thankful hubby was home and had eaten his dinner. 💕

I have fed all the cats and we will have more rain tomorrow.
