This is number 33 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread going on 12 years. 😎🎈

I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎I have been shopping and posting on HSN since the late
90’s 😎I have wonderful memories from the HSN we all know and love.

    Dreams
    Song by Fleetwood Mac

    Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well, who am I to keep you down?
It’s only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
    But listen carefully
To the sound of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
    And what you lost
    And what you had
    And what you lost
Oh, thunder only happens when it’s rainin’
Players only love you when they’re playin’
Say women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know
    You’ll know
    Now here I go again
    I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
It’s only me who wants to wrap around your dreams
And have you any dreams you’d like to sell?
    Dreams of loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
    And what you lost
    And what you had
    Ooh, what you lost
Thunder only happens when it’s rainin’
Players only love you when they’re playin’
Women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know
Oh, thunder only happens when it’s rainin’
Players only love you when they’re playin’
Say women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know
    You’ll know
    You will know
    Oh, you’ll know

🌕✨ LOOK UP — THE FINAL FIRST SUPERMOON OF THE YEARS!
The sky puts on one last grand performance of 2025 — the Full Beaver Supermoon has arrived!
Tonight and tomorrow, the Moon will shine larger, closer, and brighter than usual, glowing in deep gold as it rises through the autumn clouds.
This radiant “Beaver Moon” marks the last Supermoon of the year — a moment where Earth’s satellite reaches its perigee, appearing nearly 14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical full moon.
      🔭 How to Watch:
Look east just after sunset — you’ll see the golden orb lifting above the horizon.
The best view comes around moonrise and moonset, when the atmosphere gives it that warm amber glow.
Capture it against landscapes, reflections, or clouds — this one deserves a photo.
🌕 Why It’s Called the Beaver Moon:
Native American and early colonial calendars named it for the season when beavers worked tirelessly to build their dams before winter’s freeze — a symbol of readiness, rhythm, and nature’s flow.
✨ Let this Supermoon remind you to slow down, reflect, and admire how bright the Earth’s silent companion can be.

      NATIONAL STRESS AWARENESS DAY

National Stress Awareness Day on the first Wednesday in November aims to identify and reduce the stress factors in your life.

Everyone has stress. Some stress is good for us. It helps us to respond to changes in life. Stress is our body’s way of protecting itself from harm. However, too much stress causes harm to our health and relationships.

Identifying the stressors impacting our physical and mental health is important. Sometimes, health problems are the cause. But our health can also be affected by external stressors such as physical abuse, stressful work environments, financial stress, or other family health issues.

Once we identify the causes of stress in our lives, we can begin to eliminate or reduce stress. Some tools that help with stress include:

      Develop coping skills for anxiety.
Identify and let go of the things you cannot change.
Exercise to help us to let go of built-up anxiety.
Eating a balanced diet fuels our bodies so we’re able to better cope with the stress.

      @sheba2011

Today was not a good day for me. I have been trying to get someone else in here to redo the bathroom. However, when I asked the former contractor why I had not received a refund it was because something had been ordered and now there will be a restocking fee. This is not the way to do business and that is because there is no supervision between management and the workforce. So for two days it has been an email back and forth kind of thing. I may need to contact an attorney on this thing. Luckily, I have tons of emails.

I never made it to the Farmer’s Market yesterday or today. They had a two day sale, but a market that is closer has a weekly sale with the same items as the Farmer’s with a lower price. This market also has turkey breasts on sale with the bones. This means turkey soup for hubs. I also need to make a stop at Costco. They usually carry “Something Special Red Chili Peppers” in one of their refrigerated areas. I did contact the company and Costco is good to go. This jar is like jelly. However, it has a good spike to it and can be used for other things. I sometimes marinate chicken, beef, fish or lamb with this jelly. It makes everything taste good. No other spices are really needed with it, but I do add a few. And of course I need a couple of cases of water.

Hope you three have a great evening. I will miss seeing the moon.

      @oodiebom,

Good evening I am so sorry about your day and yes someone taking your monies is no
fun. I think you were in process they had no right to order something without your
permission. Very annoying and time consuming when you have so much on your
      plate.

Oodie I have a perfect view of the moon me and the animals. 😎💕This is what it looks
like and it’s beautiful. I am going in and out on my front porch all I do is stand there.
      Very calming and serene. 💕😘

Well I am enjoying it now because after the weekend OZ will be in the 20’s. YIKES!

Oodie I hope everything works out for you and you don’t need legal help but if you do
I would go for it. Rest well my friend.

      ⏰ Daylight saving time ends.
But here’s something most people don’t think about — your evening drive now lines up with peak deer movement. 🦌
A few things to remember as the clocks roll back:
🦌 Deer can be totally unpredictable — they might dart into the road out of nowhere.
🦌 If you see one, there are probably more close behind.
🦌 They’re most active around dawn and dusk.
🦌 It’s breeding season, so deer are moving more than usual.
🦌 And if you can’t avoid one — slow down, don’t swerve.

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Oodie wishing you a nice day.
Do be careful around those strawberries.

Oz weather is very nice we will be in the low 70’s and we have the sun. 😎💕

Poppy and I had a nice walk around the way and then it’s back to my projects.

I was surprised to see my neighbor who had shingles drive by as I was walking and
honked his horn at me. Good to see him getting back to himself. 🎈 The neighbor
told me once he heals he will be getting a shingle shot.

I hope you have a nice visit with your husband and no issues. 🎈Enjoy your shopping
if that is on your list for today. I think Florida has some good food bargains and I love
the Amish Food. We have a Amish Community and we have a nice open market. I love
their food and have been buying their goodies for years. 💕😎

Let me know how things go for you today.

I am hoping she is a fast healer. 🎈😎

Lady it will not be long now sis is a day away. 😎🎈😘

Please take care and sending your mom get well wishes. 😘💕

Thank you very much for the get well wishes for mom.❤️ It has been a tough five days. Mom has a lot of pain in her arm and she is trying to pull the cast off. Me, hubs and sis never had a broken bone so we don’t know how it feels. I have been velcro daughter because she needs help with everything – walking, bathing, dressing, etc. Having one hand to use is hard. And her balance right now is very unsteady.

Sis will be here tomorrow evening and I will need about a week doing nothing to recover. I always admired nurses and right now I have the utmost respect for them all.❤️👍

      @shoelady60,

Good Evening I know you are tired and I can’t wait for your sister to get home.
Lady your mom pain is real. I was in bed one summer night all the windows open
and the kids sleep. I feel out of bed and broke my ankle in three places and my ankle
      was dislocated from my feet.

I scream for about an hour and my kids were so scared. I have told this before on these
boards. I almost did not make it because our house was two story and I had neighbors
on both sides come to bring me down in a wheelchair provided by the ENT. I will never
forget their words if we drop her that is it. No one said a word as my kids and neighbors
and ENT carried me down a flight of stairs and into the ambulance.

The doctor I knew and he picked my foot up and it back in I woke the whole
hospital and then the doctor gave me a shot of pain medicine to shut me up. I had surgery
within hours and two plates was put in my ankle you cannot tell the difference today. 😎💕

I went on to wear my three inch heels and continue my belly dancing classes. 💕
My husband was on his way to a business trip and had to come back home.

Lady I hope you and your mom are resting. I am sending prayers for her to rest well.

This is for you stay warm and calm this too shall pass. 💕😎😘

Goodnight and rest well. Lady have your sister look into getting a nurse for your mom if needed. I would sleep for a week
      too. 😎

I didn’t break a bone, but did crack the ankle bone when I was about 8 or 9 years old. At that time I was riding a horse who got spooked and galloped around the ring. I could not keep up with him and as I fell, my ankle got stuck in the stirrup. That pain was unbelievable. Years later I discovered that though the bone wasn’t broken, part of it cracked and never healed the way it should. The only way to repair it is to break it and redo. No thank you. All I can say is that the pain is awful. I remember when my mom broke her wrist. The first week and a half were awful. Moving the fingers, torment. Then three weeks later, the itches. So intense she took the edge of a hanger to rub the inside of the cast. She, also, tried to remove the cast. Dad, being a pharmacist, contacted the orthopedist , and she took something for the pain. At least in those days there was something to take the edge off. You should do the same. When her fingers start changing to pink from purple, that you will tell you she is beginning to heal. The cast is on for a purrpose and it may be tight, but in a week or so, it will look larger as the swelling subsides. The pain also will gradually diminish. Because of her age, I hope the physician ordered a home health aide to help her as well as a nurse to check on her at least once per week. This should give you some time for yourself to market and give you some relief. You should check with her health insurance company as well to see what is available. You shouldn’t be doing this on your own.

      NATIONAL SANDWICH DAY

Whether you stack it high or thin, National Sandwich Day on November 3rd recognizes one of America’s favorite lunch items.

The sandwich is believed to be the namesake of John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, following the claim that he was the inventor of the sandwich. No matter who invented it, we celebrate every kind of sandwich.

While the modern sandwich is believed to be named after John Montagu, the exact circumstances of its invention and original use are the subject of debate. There is a rumor in a contemporary travel book titled Tour to London, by Pierre Jean Grosley, that formed the popular myth that bread and meat sustained Lord Sandwich at the gambling table. It is said that Lord Sandwich was a very conversant gambler and did not take the time to have a meal during his long hours playing at the card table. When hungry, he would ask his servants to bring him slices of meat between two slices of bread. This practice was a habit that was well known to his gambling friends who soon began to order “the same as Sandwich,” and from this, the sandwich was born.

N.A.M. Rodger, who wrote Sandwich’s biography, suggests that because of Sandwich’s commitment to the navy, politics, and the arts, the first sandwich was more likely to have been consumed at his work desk.

Before being known as sandwiches, the food seems just to have been called bread and meat or bread and cheese.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈😎 Oodie I did respond to your post from
last night. 😎All good here in OZ.

I hope you are feeling better I am still working on a Fall Project and hope to be finished
by the end of the week. Things always need to be done and get done. This is life. 😎

Take your time today and enjoy your shopping. I did not know your cable was not
hooked up. I enjoyed Robert Redford Day on TCM. I watched the Sting last night and him
and Paul Newman were the best back in the day. 😎🎈

So much is going on in news I don’t have the Telly on. I went for a nice long walk this morning

      @sheba2011

Our cable was completely wiped out last year due to the back to back hurricanes. I decided to keep it off until hubby is back home. Thankfully, both of us were safe during those episodes. Hubby was in Orlando at the sister rehabs while I was in a motel/hotel during the first storm in October. The second alarm two weeks later got me to try staying in a shelter which was a high school. The alarm in my phone went off at around 8:45pm in November from Spectrum. Little did I realize that we were in the path of a tornado. The alarm mentioned that if we were in a classroom to go out to the hallway. If we were in a motel/hotel to get to the ground floor and to stay away from windows and doors. I did not hear the wind. About a half hour later we got the all clear. I did not realize the extent of the damage until I left the shelter and headed home. Debris was everywhere. Power lines were down. I could not wait to get home. And when I finally made it to our road there was more debris. All the homes on our street received some kind of damage. Some were in really bad shape. There was no rain with this storm.

Since we lost our entire den area (cannot believe that the windows and the frames were still intact), I made the decision not to reinstall the cable. Due to the mice infestation we need to replace flooring and at the same time we will check the subfloor to make sure that no one goes through what we endured. I will be calling the people who helped in our situation to check areas in our home and all crawl spaces. This needs to be done on a yearly basis.

Last night I fell asleep and awoke too late to see hubby. I then decided to continue the KP and found some areas that needed to be redone. I not only use Clean Boss but also use a bug spray. I have also found that my new dishwasher does not clean the utensils the way I like, so, I have been doing that by hand. I happened to see a portable sink on HSN and decided to give it a try. There were 2 in the package and I must admit they are extremely handy for soaking. They even have a drain. On that note, I will now return to KP.

I forgot to mention that it may be a good idea for you and your hubby to have the shingle shot. Shingles are actually the same virus that we get as children called chickenpox. The itch goes right through your body. Try to remind your neighbor and his daughter that extra warm showers are not a good idea. The itch also leads to horrible pain. My mom went through this and I had a nurse come in everyday to check on her and to put a salve on the area. This gave her some relief. The nurse also returned later in the day to watch her shower and then gave her meds to help her sleep and also used a cream on the area. My mom was lucky in that it was localized in one area on her back. She also had homemakers that were there to prepare meals and to clean. The episode lasts at least 6 weeks. The shot doesn’t prevent it. It just makes it easier to get through and in most cases it is mild.

      @oodiebom,

Good Evening I just checked on my neighbor and his daughter is there. I am glad he
is doing much better he is old enough to be my father he still drives a nice SUV and was
out driving today he told me it is almost over and it’s been nearly six weeks.

Hubby and I already have our shingles shot the neighbor is from another country
and thought since he had chickenpox as a child he thought he did not need the shingle
shot I know better. This gentleman was a Middle School Principal and so was his wife who
passed about 10 years ago. I knew his wife before I met him.

So glad I keep all my vaccines up. 😎

Hopefully, things will be easier when your sister returns. Hope the events of today were OK. Please try to get some rest. Take care of yourself. Thoughts on the loss vs Buffalo:

Nights like tonight are hard to take but at the end of the day, the Chiefs just didn’t play well enough, deserved to lose but stillll only lost by just 7 points on the road in Buffalo.
Statistically, it was one of Mahomes’ worst games with him never have had a below 50% completion rate until tonight but honestly, most of the issue was the offensive line plus the play calling. Jaylon Moore has been a fine substitute for Josh Simmons but he’s not a first round franchise LT and it’s showing so, the sooner Simmons is back the better and I believe that will be after the bye. I also believe Trey Smith wasn’t 100% and obviously Jawaan went down with an ankle injury so the line was makeshift and it showed.
Some of the play calling was also off with guys not being able to get open and Andy also seemingly abandoning the run which was ok at points.
Without being overly negative, it’s clear to most that the defensive line most likely needs help if we are to make a solid playoff run. We need a pass rusher because we simply can’t get to the QB at all and that’s the reason why we got stomped all over by tight ends vs Buffalo but also in general this season, I think Brett Veach should make a move asap.
With that being said…. It would be utterly foolish to write this team off, we’ve been here many times before. Yes, we’re 5-4 but we made the playoffs and won a Super Bowl having gone 11-6 in the regular season so I believe they can and will do it again. It’s not going to be easy but anything we do rarely is.
Andy Reid is well known for being excellent out of the bye week and this will be no different. They have two weeks to fix it, fix the issues, maybe add some new faces and go again roaring to go on a big run through the latter stages of the season.
As far as losing to the Bills, this is part of the journey, we’re 1-5 against them in the Mahomes Allen era just to go and beat them in the playoffs.
It’s all going to plan, remain patient and stay excited because this Chiefs team is far from done! ❤️💛

      The Fool on the Hill
      Song by The Beatles

Day after day, alone on a hill
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him, they can see that he’s just a fool
And he never gives an answer
But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning around
Well on the way, head in a cloud
The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud
But nobody ever hears him or the sound he appears to make
And he never seems to notice
But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning ’round
And nobody seems to like him, they can tell what he wants to do
And he never shows his feelings
But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning ’round (oh oh oh)
‘Round and ’round and ’round and ’round and ’round
And he never listens to them, he knows that they’re the fools
      They don’t like him
The fool on the hill sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head see the world spinning ’round
Oh (’round and ’round and ’round and ’round)
      Oh

      DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS

Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 AM.

#DaylightSavingTimeEnds or #FallBackThe practice of Daylight saving time (DST) (also known as summer time) advances clocks during the summer months. It causes us to lose an hour for one day. However, the practice allows people to get up earlier in the morning and experience more daylight in the evening. Typically, users of DST adjust clocks forward one hour near the start of spring. Then, they change them back again in the autumn.

The system has received both advocacy and criticism. Setting clocks forward benefits retail business, sports, and other activities exploiting sunlight after working hours. However, the practice causes problems for evening entertainment and other activities tied to the sun or darkness. For example, farming and fireworks shows are both affected.

Although some early proponents of DST aimed to reduce evening use of incandescent lighting (formerly a primary use of electricity, modern heating and cooling), usage patterns differ greatly. Additionally, research about how DST currently affects energy use is limited or contradictory.

April 17, 2018. Southwest Flight 1380 was climbing toward cruise altitude when passengers heard a sound no one ever wants to hear on an airplane—a massive explosion that shook the entire aircraft.
The left engine had catastrophically failed. Metal shrapnel tore through the fuselage like bullets. One piece shattered a window. At 32,000 feet, where the air is too thin to breathe, the cabin instantly decompressed.
Oxygen masks dropped. People screamed. A passenger was partially pulled toward the broken window by the violent suction. Chaos doesn’t even begin to describe it.
In the cockpit, Captain Tammie Jo Shults heard the explosion, felt the plane shudder, and watched her instruments light up with warnings. One engine gone. Fuselage damaged. Cabin pressure lost. 149 souls depending on her next move.
She didn’t panic. She went to work.
“Southwest 1380, we have part of the aircraft missing,” she radioed calmly to air traffic control, her voice as steady as if she were ordering coffee. “We’re going down.”
But here’s what most people don’t know: this wasn’t the first time Tammie Jo Shults had faced death in the sky.
Before she was a commercial pilot, she was Lt. Commander Shults—one of the first female fighter pilots in the United States Navy. She flew F/A-18 Hornets as an aggressor pilot, training other naval aviators in combat tactics. The military told her she couldn’t fly combat missions because of the Combat Exclusion Policy. So she became so skilled that combat pilots trained against her.
She’d spent years making split-second decisions at supersonic speeds. Years staying calm when instinct screamed at you to panic.
And on that April morning, every hour of that training kicked in.
She manually controlled the crippled 737, fighting asymmetric thrust from the single working engine. She communicated with air traffic control. She coordinated with her first officer. She executed a rapid emergency descent—dropping altitude fast enough to reach breathable air, but controlled enough not to tear the damaged plane apart.
Twenty-two minutes after the explosion, she landed the aircraft in Philadelphia. Smooth. Controlled. As if she’d practiced it a thousand times.
Passengers later said she walked through the cabin afterward, calm and composed, checking on every single person. “Nerves of steel” was the phrase they kept using.
One passenger, Jennifer Riordan, had been critically injured by the window failure. She died later at the hospital—the only fatality. It was a tragedy. But 148 other people walked off that plane alive because of Shults’ skill, training, and unshakeable composure under pressure.
Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenbergger—the pilot who famously landed US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River in 2009—called to praise her handling of the emergency. When Sully calls to say you did good, you really did good.
Southwest Airlines commended her. Aviation experts analyzed the flight data and said her decisions were textbook perfect. Passengers wrote letters calling her their hero.
But here’s the detail that gives you chills:
Tammie Jo Shults wasn’t even supposed to be flying that day.
She’d swapped shifts with her husband, also a Southwest pilot, to accommodate their schedules. A routine trade. The kind pilots do all the time.
Which means 149 people boarded a plane that morning with no idea that the woman in the cockpit had been specifically, almost impossibly, prepared for exactly what was about to happen.
You can call it luck. You can call it fate. Or you can call it what it actually was: decades of competence, training, and grit meeting the one moment where all of it mattered most.
Tammie Jo Shults didn’t ask to be a hero that day. She just showed up, did her job with extraordinary skill, and brought almost everyone home.
She proved what she’d been proving her entire career—that competence doesn’t care about gender, that the best person for the job is simply the best person for the job, and that sometimes the person standing between disaster and survival is someone who refused to accept the word “can’t.”
She broke barriers in the Navy. She saved 148 lives in Philadelphia. And she did both the same way: by being so good at what she does that no one could argue with the results.
Sometimes heroes don’t wear capes. Sometimes they wear pilot wings and speak in calm, measured tones while manually landing a crippled aircraft.
And sometimes, they’re exactly where they need to be—even when they weren’t supposed to be there at all.

    Always Remember Us This Way
    Song by Lady Gaga

That Arizona sky burnin’ in your eyes
You look at me and, babe, I wanna catch on fire
It’s buried in my soul like California gold
You found the light in me that I couldn’t find
So when I’m all choked up
And I can’t find the words
    Every time we say goodbye
    Baby, it hurts
    When the sun goes down
    And the band won’t play
I’ll always remember us this way
    Lovers in the night
    Poets tryin’ to write
We don’t know how to rhyme
    But, , we try
    But all I really know
    You’re where I wanna go
The part of me that’s you will never die
So when I’m all choked up
And I can’t find the words
    Every time we say goodbye
    Baby, it hurts
    When the sun goes down
    And the band won’t play
I’ll always remember us this way
    Oh, yeah
I don’t wanna be just a memory, baby, yeah
    Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
    Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
    Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
So when I’m all choked up
And I can’t find the words
    Every time we say goodbye
    Baby, it hurts
    When the sun goes down
    And the band won’t play
I’ll always remember us this way, way, yeah
    When you look at me
    And the whole world fades
I’ll always remember us this way

      @sheba2011

I am highly allergic to strawberries. Many years ago I needed ground cover and instead of flowers, hubby asked for strawberries. The plants were perfect. The strawberries were red and in the beginning hubby had a great time picking them when he returned from work. I actually could not touch them and wore heavy duty gloves when planting and harvesting. Sometimes, even the scent would give me an allergy attack. The container from the Farmer’s Market had a plastic top that hubby could not open. I should have taken a paper towel from their bathroom and used that to undo the top. I forgot. The strawberries on top were pureed and I wasn’t thinking when I finally was able to pull the top off the plastic container. A drop fell on my thumb and within seconds that area swelled. Thankfully, I carry the meds just in case. As I mentioned, the Benadryl was within reach but had to forego it due to making me sleepy. What I did was I put the container in the pocket for water in the car, and I was able to stop the car as I approached our road and took the pill. I was fine an hour later, though the swelling persisted for another hour or so. I usually have an EpiPen, but rather rely on the meds. Having the pen means if I use it, I need to go to ER asap. So far, “knock on wood,” I’ve been OK with the meds. Strawberries along with cinnamon are a sulfite. Raisins, corn syrup, corn starch, vinegar are also.
There is a huge list of sulfites. However, in most cases, a teaspoon is OK. I just need to watch the intake. Thank you for caring and watching out for me. I am now going to heat up some soup for hubs and will see him soon. Hope you have a great Saturday. Stay warm.

I cannot wait for you and hubby to try the new restaurant. The menu prices are questionable. I surmise that is to pay the chef and the entourage. Still, not a good idea when food prices are out of sight along with everything else.

      @oodiebom,

Good Evening I am glad you are doing better today. I have learned a bit about sulfites.
I would be very careful around Strawberries for sure.

I will be glad when hubby is home and perhaps you have some trusted help with
certain things. Please take care of yourself you do so much and you are only one person.

My neighbor next door is still struggling with the Shingles. I feel for him as he is in agony.
I see his daughter’s car is there everyday and I am so glad. I do call and check on him
      everyday.

I hope you enjoyed your soup. Oz is chilly tonight and I have extra blankets and the Fireplace
on. So much is going on. Oodie enjoy your evening with a good book and some tea. 💕😘

      @sheba2011

My clocks are all set. Back one hour. I do like this phase better. I dread waking up when it is still quite dark outside and the animals and reptiles are up and about. I get more accomplished with the extra hour. However, when I leave hubby it will be quite dark. By the second week in January I do notice the change.

Sulfites are no fun. I had no idea what I was allergic to when my face would swell. It took me years to discover what it was. I spent many a night searching for answers using the computer. Then one day I came across an allergist who had the same problem and listed the foods that contain sulfites. I cannot tell you how relieved I was upon reading that article. It is not a killer, though, strawberries are for me. However, the other ingredients I listed make me feel awful and it can last three or four days. Pepto comes in handy and I do carry a small bottle of chewables in my bag. The meds I use for strawberries I use for this as well. I can tolerate some of the foods, but in limited quantities. Asians use quite a bit of corn syrup and corn starch in their food including soups. I have a pretty good idea what I can or cannot touch. I love salads. It’s the salad dressings that become a question since most are made with vinegar. This is why I always ask for the dressing on the side. Balsamic vinegar is definitely a no. However, white vinegar I use for cleaning and I definitely use gloves and always did prior to this reaction. It is such a delight to shop at the Farmer’s Market which is owned by the Amish. For the most part I do not need to read the labels on the food they prepare and that includes their bakery department. I will not have this luxury when we return to New England. To say I am spoiled by this Farmer’s Market is an understatement. And to have the dragon fruit all year long——

What a night I was going back and forth and up and down stairs. I have to say
it was fun seeing the kids in the outfits.

      @sheba2011

Posting may be limited until my sister gets back. When I left mom yesterday, all was fine. She ended up falling and breaking her wrist in two places. Left the hospital around 10:30 pm and spent this morning at the ortho office getting a cast. X-rays after the cast show two places aligned just right but one place is a tad off so we have to go back Monday morning for either a recast or partial recast. Nothing is easy. I will be at her house 24/7 until sis gets back Wednesday night. Hard for her to maneuver with just one arthritic hand.

Thoughts on 1587? Looks elegant but I would not enter starving. Not for the average guy which was likely planned. Maybe in a month they will offer buy one, get one free, lol!

Good Evening I totally understand and I am so sorry. I can’t believe that happened.
I am glad your sister will be back on Wednesday.

Lady I wish there was more I could do but I can read and write. 😎🎈

This is for your mom and may she heal fast. 😘💕Sending prayers.

This is for you once mom is in bed and sleep. This should help you relax a bit.

Lady just post when you can and only if your mother is doing alright.
Just rest if you can. Prayers being said for speedy recovery. 😘💕

Wow!!!!! What a day you had. Please be careful. Your mom is in good hands with you and your sister. Just make sure she moves her arm up and down so the wrist gets the circulation that it needs. My mom did the same when she was walking our pooch in an ice storm. Try to get some sleep and hopefully, after Monday, the pain will be less and she will be feeling better. Make sure she eats to keep her strength up. I will be praying for a quick recovery.
