Conversation 33

  • Sheba2011

This is number 33 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread going on 12 years. 😎🎈

I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎I have been shopping and posting on HSN since the late
90’s 😎I have wonderful memories from the HSN we all know and love.

      Always Remember Us This Way
      Song by Lady Gaga ‧

That Arizona sky burnin’ in your eyes
You look at me and, babe, I wanna catch on fire
It’s buried in my soul like California gold
You found the light in me that I couldn’t find
So when I’m all choked up
And I can’t find the words
      Every time we say goodbye
      Baby, it hurts
      When the sun goes down
      And the band won’t play
I’ll always remember us this way
      Lovers in the night
      Poets tryin’ to write
We don’t know how to rhyme
      But, , we try
      But all I really know
      You’re where I wanna go
The part of me that’s you will never die
So when I’m all choked up
And I can’t find the words
      Every time we say goodbye
      Baby, it hurts
      When the sun goes down
      And the band won’t play
I’ll always remember us this way
      Oh, yeah
I don’t wanna be just a memory, baby, yeah
      Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
      Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
      Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
So when I’m all choked up
And I can’t find the words
      Every time we say goodbye
      Baby, it hurts
      When the sun goes down
      And the band won’t play
I’ll always remember us this way, way, yeah
      When you look at me
      And the whole world fades
I’ll always remember us this way

      NATIONAL FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH DAY

National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day on November 9 is day to celebrate the crispy, flavorful delight of the fried chicken sandwich! Grab a seat at the table and fix a plate of this modern comfort food made of tender, fried chicken breast and toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, sauce, or slaw, all nestled in a soft bun.

      NATIONAL SCRAPPLE DAY

National Scrapple Day on November 9th recognizes the first pork food invented in America. For those not familiar with scrapple, it is traditionally a mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal, wheat flour, and spices, such as sage, thyme, savory and black pepper. The mush is then formed into a semi-solid loaf, sliced and pan-fried.

Scrapple is also known by the Pennsylvania Dutch name pon haus, and the immediate ancestor of scrapple was the Low German dish called panhas. Local settlers adapted the dish to make use of locally available ingredients.

      MICROTIA AWARENESS DAY

Microtia Awareness Day dedicates November 9th to spreading hope and knowledge concerning a congenital disability, which derives its name from the Latin terms for little ears. Mark the calendar and think of the number 9 as the shape of an ear.

      NATIONAL LOUISIANA DAY

On November 9, National Louisiana Day recognizes the state that brought us such treasures as Jazz, Creole and American Mardi Gras.

Throughout the history of the state, the blending of race and culture have resulted in the Delta’s own unique flair that brings visitors from around the world seeking to taste their food, hear their music and see their style.

When French explorers first arrived, several diverse tribes populated the area. Many of their population were decimated by disease and war. Natchez, Choctaw or Chitimacha descendants still survive today.

In 1803, Louisiana became territory when the United States completed negotiations with France for the 828,000 mile Louisiana Purchase. The first of 15 states to be carved out of the region, Louisianna entered the United States in 1812.

Within its mysterious gulf, Louisiana holds the secrets of pirates, conflicts of slavery and the paths of progress. The bayou teems with life and stories untold.

Louisiana epitomizes the phrase “melting pot” probably more than any other state. Throughout the history of the state, Native American, French, Spanish, German, African, Irish and Caribean cultures have blended in a variety of ways creating a diverse and distinct culture in the bayou. From the food to the language, the music and history, Cajun (French Canadian or Acadian), Creole (European, African, Caribbean or Spanish mixed ancestry) and even the landscape impact the enchantment that is Louisiana.

Last night In Paris, ‘Wicked’ stars @cynthiaerivo and @arianagrande captivated in custom Givenchy by Sarah Burton — Erivo in a sculptural black lace gown and Grande in vibrant pink satin, perfectly reflecting their Elphaba and Glinda personas. Later, Erivo appeared in a dramatic black @dior look while Grande complemented her in a blush gown, continuing their seamless play on contrast and character through fashion.

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈😎Oodie I read your post from last night.
I hope you are feeling better today and can visit your husband for peace of mind. 💕
Oodie if there was a concern with your husband’s care they should be in contact
      with you directly.

I am multi-tasking today and we are in the 30’s. All I can say is baby it’s cold outside. 😎

The cats are eating like crazy and trying to stay warm.

Please be careful if you are going out. I am a bet concern as you have a lot going on.

Let me know how you are doing when you have the time. 💕

      @sheba2011

I am feeling much better. Had a migraine headache most of the day yesterday. It wasn’t until I took the allergy pills that I started to feel better. Fell asleep and when I awakened the headache was completely gone. However, it was too late to see hubs.

I did see hubs this evening. I was greeted with, and I quote, “where the h-ll were you yesterday???” “Why didn’t you call me???” I did call and left word with the receptionist, but she never forwarded the message to the RN.. There is no phone in hubs room and I refuse to leave the cell with him for fear someone would steal it. I am now home eating a shrimp cocktail as I type. When I left, hubs was still fully dressed and in his wheelchair. No aides were around. The weekend crew leaves a lot to be desired. If I can get an early start tomorrow, will be stopping at Costco to pick up their Christmas tin of Belgian chocolate cookies for the first shift.

Tomorrow we both meet with the owner of the Renovation project. This should be very interesting in that I never gave a go ahead to order the tile. They never asked if I wanted to place an order. Also, the contractor made it known that the glass door or partition would not work because of the thermostat being in the way. I did contact the business and spoke with the owner and he reiterated that we would have one. Not so sure anymore. Our appointment is for the afternoon. I will let you know the outcome.

It is getting cooler and I must turn the A/C off. Have a pleasant evening you three. Sweet dreams.

      @oodiebom,

Good evening and I hope you are enjoying that Shrimp Cocktail. 💕😎

Sorry hubs took it like that I would have a word with the nurses there has to be
a better way to get messages of importance to patients. See I am the type of person
you have one time to do that to me and that will be the only time. I am a very nice
person but if that happened me I would turn on a dime! When I get through ripping
them a new one well that’s just all there is.😎 Oodie Miranda Priestly has nothing on me
I am the exact same way when it comes to nonsense!

Oodie all that money they are making they are not doing it for free. A very simple
message would not have hurt anyone for time. I will leave it at that.

Oodie just breathe and good luck with so much on your plate tomorrow. 😎

      @shoelady60,

Good day in the ‘burgh. 😎🎈Oz is a bit chilly today.
I am doing this and that so just a bit busy. I am fine with that.

I am thinking of your mom your post about the method I use to stop the itch was so
funny. Go Mom! 💕😎Lady I had a cast on from my foot to my knee and I was in it
for two months. I had major surgery with the three breaks in the ankle and the plates
they had to put to support my ankle. I spent several days in the hospital. I had PT and
a strong will and after some time I was able to wear my heels again.

I was taking belly dances as a workout for my abs and I also like to dance. 💕
I hope I never break anything again. I was in a dead sleep hubby was on his way
out of town and the rest is history. 😎

I am wishing your mom a strong recovery. 💕

I am thinking of you and your sister too both of you rest and take it easy when you can.
Sending warm hugs to you and Jake. 💕😎😘

Good afternoon in Oz. Tomorrow and Tuesday will be our cold days. On and off rain all day.

Did some grocery shopping this morning.🛒 I don’t normally shop on Sunday’s but had to fit it in so I can be available for mom and sis. Mom’s next doc appointment is Wednesday.

Making hamburgers for dinner with a side.🍔 No worries with a game today. Sending big hugs to you and all the fur kiddos!🤗💖

      @shoelady60,

Good evening I know I am late posting. OZ is below freezing and we are making sure
things stay warm and no busted pipes. I have been feeding cats all evening and it is cold.

I hope your mother gets great news Wednesday at least better news that she is healing.

My niece took off from the Atlanta Airport to travel to Colorado to see my mom and her
mother. Niece just got a text that her flight so far is delayed and it could get worse.
Niece already called her Principle since she is a teacher and said she will not be in tomorrow
and it depends on the Airlines.

Enjoy this smooth drink and sweet dreams. 😎💕😘

    Love Is Stronger Than Pride
    Song by Sade

I won’t pretend that I intend to stop living
    I won’t pretend I’m good at forgiving
    But I can’t hate you
    Though I have tried
    Ah
I still really really love you
    Love is stronger than pride
I still really really love you
    Mmm
I won’t pretend that I intend to stop living
    I won’t pretend I’m good at forgiving
    But I can’t hate you
    Although I have tried
    Mmm-ah
I still really really love you
    Love is stronger than pride
I still really really love you
    Mmm
    Sitting here wasting my time
    Would be like
Waiting for the sun to rise
It’s all too clear things come and go
    Sitting here waiting for you
Would be like waiting for winter
    It’s gonna be cold
    There may even
    Be snow
I still really really love you
    Love is stronger than pride
I still really really love you
    Love is stronger
    I still really love you
    Love is stronger than pride

      @sheba2011

This is my second time trying to type a note. I was just about to end the post a few hours ago, and it vanished into thin air. Oh well, here we go again.

I finally made it to Costco yesterday afternoon. With the help of an employee I was able to find the “Something Special Red Chili Pepper Jam/Jelly. I purchased four jars and gave one to the receptionist at the Rehab who also likes things hot hot hot. I also picked up a lounge pant for hubby that should help keep him warm during our cooler days starting Monday. Back to the warmth of the 80s on Wednesday.

Hubs actually remembered our conversation from Friday. However, on Friday I did call the Renovation people asking if we could meet at the Rehab so hubby could be part of the conversation. I will let everyone know the outcome.

I did not see hubs today. After getting a load of laundry into the wash my head started to pound. I took my meds and it did not hit. I added sinus meds to the mix and I fell asleep. Awoke to no more headache but the sound of the phone ringing. It was the Rehab and my first thought was hubs. As it turned out they just needed some info in case anything happened. I just hope and pray that he is OK. This really concerned me and it gave me an awful feeling.

Also try baby powder with cornstarch. Sounds like your mom has started to heal. It’s just about a week ago that this happened. The itchiness, of course, is another form of pain.

We will both be in the middle of the cold front.🥶 Ours starts tomorrow night with rain turning to snow showers on Monday and highs in the 30s.

Mom is feeling about the same. You won’t believe this – she said her arm started itching so she took her letter opener to scratch it just like you, LOL!🤣 I never even told her that’s what you did. Again, we are somehow related.

Not much else happening, sending big, warm hugs to you, Poppy and the kitties.🤗💖

      Still I Rise
      by Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

You may write me down in history
      With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.
      Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
      Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
      With the certainty of tides,
      Just like hopes springing high,
      Still I’ll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
      Bowed head and lowered eyes?
      Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
      Weakened by my soulful cries.
      Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.
      Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history’s shame
      I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
      I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
      I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
      I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
      I rise
      I rise
      I rise.

      NATIONAL RETINOL DAY

On November 7th, celebrate the most popular anti-aging skincare ingredient with National Retinol Day!

Did you know that retinol is one of the most searched skincare ingredients in the world? As the gold-standard for anti-aging ingredients, retinol is consistently recommended by dermatologists and heralded for its transformative effects on skin.

Retinol is a retinoid, a derivative of Vitamin A, and works by boosting skin’s renewal process and helps to diminish signs of aging including lines & wrinkles, sagging skin, and uneven tone and texture.
It is also one of the most tested ingredients, which means scientists continue to improve the effectiveness of this popular skincare ingredient year after year.

      NATIONAL CANINE LYMPHOMA AWARENESS DAY

On November 7th, National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day educates and creates awareness about canine lymphoma.

In 2011, the well-known and respected dog agility trainer and competitor, Terry Simons, received devastating news. The veterinarian diagnosed Simon’s “heart and soul” dog, Reveille, with Lymphoma. As an educated dog owner, Terry did all he could for Reveille. However, he soon discovered how elusive accurate information regarding options and treatment could be. Soon, Terry connected with professionals. They helped him choose the best path for his beloved companion.

Reveille not only competed in dog agility throughout her treatment but thrived. She even attained the best agility year of her career. When Terry chose to let Reveille go, he knew he was making the right decision for her. However, grief does strange things. It can destroy, and it can inspire. In Terry’s case, Reveille inspired him to form a foundation. In Reveille’s honor, Terry created CLEAR (Canine Lymphoma Education Awareness and Research). The foundation dedicates it’s efforts to providing information, resources and research into the devastating disease. Reveille’s legacy ensures dog owners know their options. They become empowered advocates of their four-legged family members.

      Here You Come Again
      Song by Dolly Parton

      Here you come again
Just when I’ve begun to get myself together
You waltz right in the door, just like you’ve done before
And wrap my heart ’round your little finger
      Here you come again
Just when I’m about to make it work without you
You look into my eyes and light those dreamy eyes
And pretty soon I’m wondering how I came to doubt you
All you gotta do is smile that smile
And there go all my defenses
Just leave it up to you and in a little while
You’re messing up my mind and filling up my senses
      Here you come again
Looking better than a body has a right to
And shaking me up so, that all I really know
Is here you come again, and here I go
All you gotta do is smile that smile
And there go all my defenses
Just leave it up to you and in a little while
You’re messing up my mind and filling up my senses
      Here you come again
Looking better than a body has a right to
And shaking me up so, that all I really know
Is here you come again, and here I go
      Here I go
      And here I go
      And here I go
      Here you come again
      And here I go

      Islands in the Stream
      Song by Dolly Parton/Kenny Rogers

Baby, when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
      I was soft inside
      There was something going on
You do something to me that I can’t explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
      Every beat of my heart
      We got something going on
      Tender love is blind
      It requires a dedication
All this love we feel needs no conversation
We ride it together, ah ha
Making love with each other, ah ha
      Islands in the stream
      That is what we are
      No one in between
      How can we be wrong?
      Sail away with me
      To another world
And we rely on each other, ah ha
From one lover to another, ah ha
I can’t live without you if the love was gone
Everything is nothing if you got no one
And you did walk in the night
Slowly losing sight of the real thing
But that won’t happen to us and we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
      And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing
      No more will you cry
Baby, I will hurt you never
We start and end as one
      In love forever
We can ride it together, ah ha
Making love with each other, ah ha
      Islands in the stream
      That is what we are
      No one in between
      How can we be wrong?
      Sail away with me
      To another world
And we rely on each other, ah ha
From one lover to another, ah ha
      Sail away
Oh, come sail away with me
      Islands in the stream
      That is what we are
      No one in between
      How can we be wrong?
      Sail away with me
      To another world
And we rely on each other, ah ha
From one lover to another, ah ha
      Islands in the stream
      That is what we are
      No one in between
      How can we be wrong?

      9 to 5
      Dolly Parton

Tumble out of bed and I stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
And yawn and stretch and try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin’
Out on the street, the traffic starts jumpin’
With folks like me on the job from nine to five

Workin’ nine to five, what a way to make a livin’
Barely gettin’ by, it’s all takin’ and no givin’
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it
Nine to five, for service and devotion
You would think that I would deserve a fair promotion
Want to move ahead but the boss won’t seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is out to get me
      Mmmm

Working nine to five, what a way to make a livin’
Barely gettin’ by, it’s all takin’ and no givin’
They just use your mind and you never get the credit
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it
Nine to five, yeah, they got you where they want you
There’s a better life and you think about it don’t you
It’s a rich man’s game no matter what they call it
And you spend your life puttin’ money in his wallet
Nine to five, what a way to make a livin’
Barely gettin’ by, it’s all takin’ and no givin’
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it
Nine to five, yeah, they got you where they want you
There’s a better life and you think about it don’t you

      ✨ Look Up Tonight!
On the evening of November 6, 2025, the Moon will appear very close to the Pleiades (The Seven Sisters) — one of the most famous star clusters in the sky.
      🌙 What’s Happening?
The Moon will pass near the Pleiades in the constellation Taurus, creating a beautiful celestial pairing that you can enjoy with the naked eye — no telescope needed.
      🔭 How to Watch:
      • After sunset, look toward the eastern sky.
      • Find the bright Moon, then look for a small group of blue, shimmering stars nearby.
      • For the best view, choose a dark location away from city lights.
      • Beaches, mountains, and open fields are perfect spots.
      💫 About the Pleiades:
The Pleiades are a cluster of young stars often called The Seven Sisters in mythology, symbolizing family, unity, and ancient sky stories across many cultures.
      📷 Photography Tip:
Because the Moon is bright, use short exposures.
A smartphone on a tripod works surprisingly well!

      NATIONAL SAXOPHONE DAY

National Saxophone Day commemorates the birth of the woodwind’s inventor, Adolphe Sax, on November 6th. The saxophone is one of the main instruments in jazz music.

Born on November 6, 1814, Adolphe Sax invented many musical instruments including the saxophone. Sax constructed saxophones in several sizes in the early 1840s. On June 28, 1846, he received a 15-year patent for the instrument. The patent encompassed 14 different versions of the fundamental design, split into two categories of seven instruments each and ranging from sopranino to contrabass.

After Sax’s patent expired in 1866, several saxophonists and instrument manufacturers implemented their own improvements to the original design and key work.

Over the years, many great saxophone masters have graced the world with their music.

The night was supposed to mark Jimmy Kimmel’s big return to late-night television.
But instead, it turned into a live moment of truth no one could have scripted.
The tension rose when Kimmel smirked and said,
“Patrick, it’s easy to talk about leadership and discipline when you’ve never had to carry the real weight of the world.”
Patrick Mahomes looked up, calm but unshaken, his eyes steady under the studio lights. His voice was low — but it carried.
“The real weight of the world? Jimmy, I was a kid from Tyler, Texas, who was told I was too raw, too unconventional to make it. I studied tape till sunrise, threw passes into the dark when nobody was watching. I learned every angle, every read, every failure the hard way. I’ve played through pain, through doubt, through people calling me overrated after one bad game. I’ve seen what pressure is — it’s the fourth quarter when the crowd is roaring, the clock is dying, and your team looks at you like their season depends on what you do next. Don’t tell me I don’t understand pressure.”
The studio fell silent. The audience leaned forward, caught between tension and awe.
Kimmel chuckled awkwardly, trying to regain control:
“Oh, come on, Patrick. You’ve had a good run. Don’t act like you’re some kind of saint. You’re just another superstar quarterback talking about grit.”
That struck a nerve — but he didn’t raise his voice.
He simply straightened his posture, his tone deepening with quiet conviction.
“Grit?” he said softly. “Jimmy, grit isn’t about highlight reels or rings. It’s what keeps you grinding when nobody’s watching — in high school gyms with fading lights, in the pros when your body’s screaming, and your mind’s telling you to quit. It’s showing up every day for your teammates, your family, your city — even when the world’s ready to move on. That’s not ego. That’s commitment. And if that makes someone uncomfortable, maybe that says more about them than it does about me.”
The audience erupted — clapping, cheering, some even chanting his name.
Kimmel tried to talk over the noise, raising his voice:
“This is my show, Patrick! You don’t get to turn it into a locker-room pep talk!”
He smiled faintly, a mix of grace and fire.
“I’m not giving a pep talk, Jimmy,” he replied. “I’m reminding people that respect, preparation, and humility still matter — in football, on television, in life. Somewhere along the way, we started confusing sarcasm with strength.”
The crowd went wild — standing, applauding, the sound echoing across the studio.
He reached for his glass of water, set it down gently, and looked straight into the camera.
“This world’s got enough noise,” he said. “Maybe it’s time we start listening — and lifting each other up again.”
He stood, gave the audience a quick nod, and walked offstage — calm, composed, unapologetically Patrick Mahomes.
Behind him, the studio buzzed with emotion as the band eased into a soft groove, letting the moment breathe.
Within minutes, the clip hit social media. Millions of viewers flooded the internet, calling it “the most powerful moment in late-night TV history.”
Fans praised Mahomes for his authenticity and poise, saying he “didn’t argue — he elevated.”
Others admired how he turned confrontation into clarity — proof that leadership isn’t about words, but presence.
For Jimmy Kimmel, the night meant to mark his big comeback became something else entirely.
Instead, it became the night when Patrick Mahomes turned late-night television into a stage for accountability, respect, and the quiet fire that defines true champions. 😎

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie I know your hands are full today.
I wish you luck with all you have to do. 😎

Oz is chilly today and I am fine with that but what comes next week I am getting prepared
for it that means weather in the 20’s. 🎈😎 All good I am making sure we are ready.

Take it easy out there and I hope all is well with your husband. 💕

Let me know later how things goes.

      @sheba2011

Good Evening, or should I say good morning. I finally saw hubs after 3 days of email to and from the bathroom remodelers. After I cooled down enough I drove to see hubs. To say I am livid is an understatement. But after my tirade going through all that happened this week hubby’s expression made me laugh and hit the floor. I’m still laughing. I cannot say the 8 lettered word here but it starts with a B and ends with T. His other line was, “he must be a young kid not to call you after stating you didn’t want to work with him any longer to let you know that the items were ordered and now you need to pay a restock fee. Hubs wants to meet this person and I will try to see if he can make it to the rehab since there is no way for hubs to be home. Anyways, we have an appointment for Monday afternoon. This should be very interesting…….hmmm……….

There has been a big change in hubby. More pep. More sass. More himself. He is finally getting the food and vitamins he needs. Some of the dementia I have seen for almost a year is slowly going in another direction. Even the nurses and aids are noticing the change. I’m not sure if it’s medication or the slow weaning away from the puree foods. He is asking for pizza and not just any pizza. He wants either Hawaiian or Chicken Cordon Bleu. It’s so nice to see his humorous side again.

I hope you enjoyed the moon and the sisters tonight. We are having a showery event and this has been going on all day. We will also be cooling off beginning Monday. Temps during the day will be in the low 60s and nighttime in the 40s. However, like before, it will only last a few days and then it will be back to reality of 80s and 70s. The 40s here may be a warming trend for you, but for me it will feel more like the 20s. On this note I will say goodnight and sweet dreams to you three.

Thank you for all the info. Sis is back and between the two of us, we will get mom back. The doc did order some pills but, because of her age, I think they are more of a relaxer than pain medication. Mom is very anti pills, medicine, doctors, etc. but she did take these. I will be ready for when she starts itching. I know she will be irritated on how long this will take to heal.

      @shoelady60,

Good day in the ‘burgh. 💕😎🎈Lady I am sure this is a busy day for you and your sister.
I hope she had a nice flight back to the ‘burgh.

How is your mother doing so far? Hey as long as she is not in pain and is comfortable
that is all that matters. I am sure you are worn out and may be sleeping or resting as I
type this post to you. 😘

I want to say welcome back to your sister and get well soon to your mother. 😘🎈😎💕

Oz has a chill in air and that is all good. Sending relaxing and calming vibes to you and Jake. 💕

      Rest well my friend.

      @sheba2011

Sis got back fine yesterday, no delays or cancellations with the government shutdown, thank goodness.

You know me well. Other than take a shower and wash my hair, I did a lot of nothing today. Needed to relax after six days of nonstop, velcro daughter duties. Mom is okay, I know she is disgusted about how long this will take to heal. And it is her dominant hand so that is even more irritating. At least there are two of us now to share the work.👧👧 Doc gave her some pills to relax her. We have to take it day by day.

We are getting the same weather Sunday night into Monday, may see some snow showers.❄️ Cold for a few days then warmer later in the week. Interesting article on Mahomes and Kimmel. I wasn’t aware of that.

Again, thanks for all your kindness good friend and sister. I will not forget. Hugs and love to you and Poppy.🤗💖

      @shoelady60,

Good Evening and I am so glad your sister made it home safe. 💕
Lady your mother will have some discomfort for a while but she will heal.
I hope she takes the medicine I know all too well how much the pain is and I think
taking something on the short term bets the pain.

I hope she does not use that hand much so it can heal. I invented a genius way to
scratch when I had my cast on from my broken ankle in three places and two plates
put in during surgery it took all summer to heal. I use a envelope opener the ones
that looks like a knife. Sheesh don’t tell anyone it worked. 😎 The day that cast came off
I was so happy and still had a way to go. 😎I am a fighter our kids were so scared they
brought down a queen size mattress and slept by the front door until I was released
from the hospital. I was back at work within ten days cast and wheelchair and all. LOL!

I think your mother will do just fine with the help of both of you. 😎💕🎈Remember if she
needs extra help make sure she gets it.

Welcome back home to your sister and to you. Sending sweet kisses to your mom. 💕😘

      @shoelady60

Thank you for your nice note. I’m glad that your sister returned before any flights were cancelled and it was a good ride. My mom found that a pillow helped with the pain and movement. She actually took a pillow from the bed which was soft and more pliable than the ones you would use for a sofa. Yes, she also did it to her right hand, the one she used all the time. She slowly learned to use the other for writing and feeding herself. Also told her friends that she was now ambidextrous so they could continue their weekly games of Canasta and Maj Jong. Of course all that “ambi” went away almost as soon as the cast came off.

I think you will see a change in your mom when her friends begin calling and she finds things to do. This will ease her tension and the pain will lessen. In a few weeks when the swelling goes down, she will be able to do a few things with that hand. But, please watch the amount of pressure. After the cast is removed, she will probably need to wear something on that hand to prevent wrongful movement and over usage. Also, the physician may make appointments for physical therapy. Most importantly. you both should take care of yourselves as well.
