Conversation – 31

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread.
This is number 31 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread over 11 years. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY
Dish or cone? That’s all we need to know. National Ice Cream Day on the 3rd Sunday in July offers up every flavor on the menu to honor the day! The holiday also lands in the middle of National Ice Cream Month.

NATIONAL MOON DAY
National Moon Day on July 20 commemorates the day man first walked on the moon in 1969. NASA reported the moon landing as being “…the single greatest technological achievement of all time.”
On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 carried the first humans to the moon. Six hours after landing on the moon, American Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface. He spent two and a half hours outside the spacecraft. Buzz Aldrin soon followed, stepping onto the lunar surface. After joining Armstrong, the two men collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material. Their specimens would make the journey back to Earth to be analyzed.
In the command module, a third astronaut waited. Pilot, Michael Collins, remained alone in orbit until Armstrong and Aldrin returned.
Caught up in the thrill of the adventure, millions of Americans watched the mission from Earth. Televisions around the world tuned in to the live broadcasts. The astronauts had a worldwide audience. As a result, all witnessed as Armstrong stepped onto the moon’s surface and described the event as “one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Sheba, Happy Saturday. Well another score today. I was buying some gum and checked on some sugar free type gummies that I only buy a few times a year. Just too expensive for candy even at 1 gram of sugar. Well it was half price. Got a few bags. By the way, have you seen the price of gum? How old do I sound? But it’s really so expensive. Guess that’s good so I wont buy as much.
How’s your SIL and Sister doing? -
On Bob Newhart. There was a posting online today that he just past. I thought it was kind of odd. I do remember seeing something about a year ago. The report also stated that his wife of 60 years passed away last year. Oh well. Glad you cleared that up.
I tried to order dinner at the Rehab. They charge $4 per meal. The amount they serve does not compare to what you do at home or when you eat out. I tried to order a hamburger on a roll. It comes with lettuce and tomato. No frills. I did try to order prior to 3pm. However, the receptionist is new and did not know how to inform the kitchen. I ended up bringing a salad instead which I didn’t touch until I was home. I left the rehab around 8pm. Drove home to the last rays of sunlight.
Tomorrow’s heat index will be around 106 degrees here. May be warmer. No rain until Wednesday. Just happy thus far that there are no hurricanes, though they are watching a wave near the Antilles.
I am fine. Tired, but OK. The heat is hard on me. I guess it’s because I was born in a blizzard. I was a little annoyed when I was at the rehab. The RN on duty informed that hubby was outside. I was totally surprised and angry. Everywhere I ventured on the computer today reminded me to stay indoors. The heat index was in the low hundreds. What were they thinking?????!!!!! Ok , the A/C is on and the temps make you add some extra layer of clothing. Still in all, someone should have timed hubby. He loves the heat but forgets to stay hydrated. He was OK. Joined me on their lanai until dinner. We both went to the dining room which was just a few stepss away. His dinner was puree. More food this time.
