Conversation – 31

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread.
This is number 31 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread over 11 years. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Nikola Tesla died broke, alone, and half-forgotten in a New York hotel room—yet the entire modern world still runs on his ideas.
He was born during a lightning storm in 1856, and some said it was a sign. Maybe it was. Tesla spoke eight languages, memorized entire books, and could visualize his inventions in perfect detail without ever drawing them. He came to America in 1884 with four cents in his pocket and a head full of wild visions. He wasn’t chasing money. He was chasing the future.
Within a few years, he changed everything.
He championed alternating current (AC)—a cleaner, more powerful alternative to Thomas Edison’s direct current (DC). The result was the War of the Currents, a bitter public feud that made headlines and history. Tesla won. AC powered the 20th century.
But while Edison built companies, Tesla built dreams. Wireless energy. Radio. X-rays. Remote control. Neon light. A global communications network. He gave away patents. Refused to compromise for profit. Investors grew impatient. Rivals took credit. And by the time the world caught up, Tesla had already moved on—to stranger, more visionary pursuits. Wireless power towers. Earthquake machines. Talking to planets.
They called him a madman. But what he really was… was early.
He died in 1943, alone with his pigeons, scribbling in notebooks no one would read for decades. But today, his name lives everywhere—from electric cars to space tech to pop culture. Not because he chased fame. But because he saw further than anyone else dared.
Nikola Tesla didn’t just dream of the future—
he plugged it in, sparked it alive, and walked away before we understood what he’d done.
Genius isn’t always loud.
Sometimes, it hums in the wires. -

Good Morning Peeps and welcome to the HSN Community. 🎈😎

NATIONAL LIPSTICK DAY
National Lipstick Day on July 29 encourages you to wear your best color. For some, lipstick is the only makeup requirement. Whether sheer and light, dark or bright, National Lipstick Day calls for all kinds of lipstick.
Throughout the ages, controversy surrounded lipstick. British Parliament banned it in 1770 calling it a devilish attempt to trick men into marriage. In some circles, lipstick was associated with witchcraft. Occasionally, lipstick contained poisonous materials.
It is said Sarah Bernhardt created a scandal by applying “lip rouge” in public. Surprisingly, George Washington supposedly wore lipstick. While Queen Victoria considered wearing lipstick impolite, one of her statesmen had a different opinion. During World War II, Winston Churchill thought the lip color boosted morale in an excellent way.
Of course, versatility is lipstick’s brand. It changes with a mood or with the scenery. Whether lipstick defines your attitude or channels your inner spirit, wear it on July 29th. No matter your style, lipstick adds a subtle accent or a bold statement. Let your lips speak. However, punctuate it with your lipstick.
