Conversation 30

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread.
This is number 30 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread 11 years. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

MAY DAY
May Day ushers in a traditional celebration of flowers and spring. In many ancient calendars, May 1 welcomed the first day of summer, which was truly a cause for celebration.
May Day has been a traditional day of celebration for centuries, with some of the earliest appearing in pre-Christian times. One of the more popular rituals was harvesting flowers and giving them to neighbors and strangers in cone-shaped baskets. These May Baskets become more commonly known as May Day Baskets. The current tradition is observed by hanging a cone-shaped basket full of flowers or other gifts on the outside doorknob, then knocking or ringing the doorbell and running away.

NATIONAL MOTHER GOOSE DAY
National Mother Goose Day on May 1 honors the imaginary author of a collection of fairy tales and nursery rhymes we loved as children. Most of us remember Mother Goose as an elderly countrywoman in a tall hat and shawl, but she is sometimes seen as a goose wearing a bonnet.
-

SCHOOL PRINCIPALS’ DAY
School Principals’ Day on May 1 is your reminder to take time to today and say thank you to the educational leaders who look after your children every day. After all, they guide academic success and set the tone for an entire school.
-

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
The National Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Thursday in May. This day observance, designated by the United States Congress, asks people “to turn to God in prayer and meditation.”

Good evening I knew last night the way you posted it would be bad.
So sorry for all the devastation this has caused I did see images on the
World News. I know at least 2 people were killed I was stunned. I am so
glad you posted tonight as I was getting a wee bit concerned. You are not kidding about those trees and you speak of them often when
there is a bad storm coming. Trees are no joke when they fall on people,
cars and homes.I am glad all in your family are alright.

Goodnight and stay safe. OZ is raining now and will rain all day tomorrow.
I feel as long as it is not too windy and wild this too shall pass. 😎😘 -

Peace Out Peeps enjoy your evening. 😎

So thankful that you and your family are OK.. I had no inkling that you were going to be hit that hard. The news here kept saying NY. . Just be careful when you are out and about. Glad your sister was in town. Your mom would have been beside herself in this storm.

Wow, what a night and day. I think we got the storm that your niece had. Our county was declared a state of emergency. They said it was the worst in decades. Over 300,000 lost power, wind gusts clocked at 90 mph at the airport, trees down everywhere and roads closed. So far two people were killed. But…..
My road must have been in a different city. The lights flickered about three times then stayed on and I did not have one branch/limb fall down. Unbelievable!!!😮 After all the problems we’ve had over the years with trees falling, I guess God decided to give us a break.
It was reported that some power may not be restored for 5-7 days. We are getting help from surrounding electric companies. My mom may fall into that category. Just came home from her house to get some food from her fridge/freezer to keep in mine. Hubs helped sis get the garage door open so she can get out to get whatever they need (ice). There is a pole not far from her house where the top came off and is dangling from a downed wire.
After all that, I’m still sending big hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖 Hope your dinner was delicious.🥩
