Hi Oodie, thanks for your concern and posts. See below my reply to Sheba on the latest. You are the expert on storms for sure! It has been raining on and off all week and will continue through the weekend. So tired of weather alerts and warnings. Wish I could blow some of this rain down to you. Keeping fingers crossed for a uneventful hurricane season.🤞 You have two extremes – none or too much!! Prayers every day that you get your husband home soon.🙏 Take care.

Power is still out at mom’s, sis just left my house from charging up her electronics. My neighbor across the road and the homes behind him are still out. A friend of mine said a house near her had a tree fall on the house and their mailbox was blown down the street into a restaurant parking lot. The latest electric company report states all people should be back up by May 6th. That is one week from when the storm hit. Lived here all my life and have never seen so many trees down and widespread damage. Yet I didn’t even have a garbage can roll over. I have said 100 times already that we were so lucky.🙏

One good thing – the son of my mom’s neighbor brought his mother a generator and with two heavy-duty extension cords has my mom’s refrigerator plugged in. Very kind of her to offer. Another neighbor emailed the whole plan to say she had a generator and they could come to her house to charge phones/computers. Everyone is trying to help each other out.

Too many hockey games on right now, can’t watch them all.🏒 I’ll be glad when this first round is over. Some teams I like, some I don’t. But, given the circumstances, glad I can watch any of them!

I started a post and then all of a sudden, right near the end, poof, it disappeared. Anyway, what I started to say is that I hope your sister and mom now have electricity. They must be so thankful that you live nearby and can use the fridge and freezer for items that could spoil. I have a feeling that right about now they could use a few glasses of wine or whatever. You do not know how much you rely on some things until a storm comes along and then WHAM you’re hit hard. Thankfully, you live relatively close so you can go back and forth without a problem.

Well, we are just about a month away for the start of hurricane season. We have had no rain or brief showers in over a month or so. Things here are beginning to look like a desert. However, we have been close to the 90s and the humidity is quite high. Not sure what is in store for us this year,. I am just hoping for a bit of rain or showers without wind. I also see there are more storms in the forecast. Hope everything is OK and it will just be a rain event. Take care.

I am OK. Some aches and pains but the meds are kicking in. I have been very lazy the last few days and have been with hubby who is OK. I did reach out to another company for the bathroom remodel and gave them a list of things that needed to be done. They only did remodels of bathrooms. I did make an appointment but decided to cancel since I would need to also find someone to do the ramp and flooring. That’s when they began to give me a hard time saying they could do all that. I like people to say what they can and cannot do and to be honest and truthful. I was shocked when they said they could do a ramp and flooring. Why they could not be up front from the beginning is beyond me. I guess in most cases the majority of businesses are used to dealing with men and not women. I may not know the terminology or the tools one uses, but I do know what I want and that’s that.

I cut into a Casaba Melon and brought some to hubby. Sweet as butter as the saying goes. The smile on his face told me more. I also made a stop at Aldi’s and picked up some dessert items and those went over well. I arrived too late to see what was on his plate. Suffice to say the Rehab has started giving him solid foods and he is happy. I will be pleased more when something is done with his roommate. Because of where the Rehab is located I am trying to leave between 8:30 and 9:30pm. Starting next week I hope to leave the house earlier as well. This will give me time to make brief stops for dessert and maybe some fruit that no longer needs to be pureed. I still worry about apples which are his favorite. Oranges are in that category as well.

I am concerned with xango. Her hubby is employed with the Veterans Hospital. The President has made some deep cuts in that area. I just hope and pray he wasn’t affected. I would hate to see xango leaving Florida and her animals she feeds. I know this is one of her many enjoyments. I hope we hear from her soon. This is one of the many times I wish we had a way to reach out.
