Conversation 30

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread.
This is number 30 out of the of the series.
I created and started this thread 11 years. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Met Gala 2025: Celebrities, Red Carpet, Theme & More
Affectionately referred to as “fashion’s biggest night out,” the Met Gala 2025 is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City that is held every year on the first Monday in May. The event welcomes stars, young creatives, and industry paragons. The 2025 Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 5 and will celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The 2024 Met Gala theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, while the 2023 Met Gala theme honored Karl Lagerfeld, who was a regular attendee at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. During 2021 and 2022, the Costume Institute hosted its first two-part exhibition, on the theme of American fashion. Part one, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” opened in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” opened on May 5, 2022 in the period rooms of the American Wing. -

I haven’t seen hubby since Saturday. Yesterday and today I tried reaching the Rehab to no avail. I surmise that the receptionist took a couple of days off. The hours are horrible. They are at the desk from 9 am until 7 pm. Calling to let the nursing staff know that I have a problem is a real concern for me. There is no way for me to let hubby know that I will not be there. The staff use their own cell phones to make calls. I have been down and out for two days. Not sure about tomorrow. Though feeling better, I do not want to be anywhere near the rehab if I am still contagious. This is two da ys in a row. The Rehab had at least 4 people that rotated hours and days. They now have only one. She is the nicest person. I frequently call her to ask if she needs anything from the market or a meal. Once at the rehab, she does not take anytime to order out or have time to market. When on one is there, the phone goes to voice mail. No way to leave a message if you do not know how to reach the nurses or aides. What a dilemma.

Around Christmas time I happened to be in Amazon and noticed lanterns. These are batteried operated. It comes 4 in a package. I decided to purchase and when they arrived I was blown away. They are a little smaller than a flashlight in height. They have a handle. But what got to me is the light it gives. Such a small thing that is very powerful. You raise it to give a little light or all the way up so you can read or do whatever. I keep one in the car and as it turned out that one came in handy when the rehab lost power due to a thunderstorm. All I had to do was run in between those raindrops and fetch. Hubby and his favorite aide were amazed. It lighted the entire room. and that room holds two beds with nightstands and two closets. This is just a suggestion and with the weather constantly changing, it may be an item worth looking into.
Florida has a system when they lose power. The first response are to the hospitals, fire stations, police stations, doctor offices, walk in clinics, etc.. Next are the convalescent homes, rehabs, assisted living, etc.. Next are the 55 and over communities. There are also emergency areas set up in case of need. Florida does have some good points. But for now insurance cost is through the roof and of course June begins our hurricane season. It doesn’t sound too pretty. If we do stay through the summer, I will definitely be looking at a generator and maybe a portable grill.
Have patience. At least for now, everyone seems to be all right.

Good afternoon to you. Still no power – mom and sis watched TV on her phone last night instead of playing cards by flashlight.🔦 Sis bought an adapter so now she can charge her phone from the generator.🔌 And they sit and wait……
I may go out tomorrow to look for some flower baskets for the deck. I’m a little late this year because of the storm and roads closed.
Hubs golfed good yesterday, better than the week before. Every round is a new experience, lol!😄
My Cinco de Mayo is chips and salsa and, of course, a margarita.🍹 Not a big fan of Mexican cuisine but I still celebrate. I’ll be checking out some of the Met Gala later.
Be careful out back, sending nacho hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖
