I forgot to add that I was quite surprised to read that HSN is more interesting than QVC and possibly doing better than her sister network. No wonder the owners want to bring HSN to PA.. If insurance costs were lower or there were more insurance companies to deal with then it would not surprise me that QVC would move to Florida. A few y ears ago on our way North, we made a wrong turn and saw where the main QVC station was located. The entrance left quite a bit to be desired. In Lancaster, Pa., I happened to see a QVC outlet store and went in. The place inside was in shambles with clothes and shoes strewn along the floor. Boxes on shelves were empty. Other items had parts missing. The help were just talking among themselves. No one bothered to pick up merchandise and return to shelves or hang clothes on hangers. I walked out. Never did return.

To understand our feelings you need to know that both hubby and I grew up in our family’s retail business. Hubby’s dad owned a deli. My dad was a pharmacist and his business included liquor, toys, cosmetics and a fountain for sandwiches, ice cream, etc.. In those early days my Mom worked side by side with my dad. She was the cashier up front. Dad would leave the house early morning because newspapers, magazines, puzzles and other material were all bundled at the front door by 5 am each morning. Hubby would often go with his Dad to NYC to the deli district to pickup the order for their store. Hubby, as a kid, enjoyed this trek. The smells from the area were a treat for him. His mom also helped.

I remember as a kid, probably around the age of 6 or 7, taking the shelves with toys a part to clean the shelves that I could reach. My dad used to come over and whisper in my ear that I was not permitted to do that because I wasn’t of age. It went in one ear and out the other. I always found retail to be exciting and meeting people the heart of the business. Those early days have never left our minds or hearts. Both of us are delighted that we had that experience. It has helped us through our daily lives and that includes learning new things and ideas.

I am also wondering how everything will turn out. However, I have a funny feeling that HSN and QVC will merge and the hosts that are present on QVC will remain. The people who started both Shopping Channels are still the owners, though the one that has been babied is QVC and still the favorite. I just do not see having four channels a way to make money. I also cannot fathom bringing both together in PA..I just feel that bringing HSN North is to bring extra $$ to QVC.. Both could end up on the carving table. Also, xango is right. There are better places to shop where shipping is free and also free returns. I do check other websites not only for price but to also see what people are saying about the product. Temu reminds me of the time when Amazon was just a name and their prices were unstoppable. It took me awhile before I started purchasing and then compared them to Walmart. HSN and QVC could learn by watching these companies. The prices. sometimes, finally get to you and you mouse over the item and press the right button to purchase. Also, the retail places xango mentioned do not have hosts or vendors on TV representing their product. Generally there is only a brief description which takes a few minutes to read. Having someone babble in your ear distracts from the how to’s. I rarely listen to the gibberish. If i need more info, then hopefully, there is a video clip. I cannot remember the last time I returned an item.

is so true. 😎I do avoid anything that try to drag me down. Life is too short to sweat
the small stuff.

Feels so good to get back to nature with walking. My legs are long and strong and I do
work out to keep them that way.
