I am also wondering how everything will turn out. However, I have a funny feeling that HSN and QVC will merge and the hosts that are present on QVC will remain. The people who started both Shopping Channels are still the owners, though the one that has been babied is QVC and still the favorite. I just do not see having four channels a way to make money. I also cannot fathom bringing both together in PA..I just feel that bringing HSN North is to bring extra $$ to QVC.. Both could end up on the carving table. Also, xango is right. There are better places to shop where shipping is free and also free returns. I do check other websites not only for price but to also see what people are saying about the product. Temu reminds me of the time when Amazon was just a name and their prices were unstoppable. It took me awhile before I started purchasing and then compared them to Walmart. HSN and QVC could learn by watching these companies. The prices. sometimes, finally get to you and you mouse over the item and press the right button to purchase. Also, the retail places xango mentioned do not have hosts or vendors on TV representing their product. Generally there is only a brief description which takes a few minutes to read. Having someone babble in your ear distracts from the how to’s. I rarely listen to the gibberish. If i need more info, then hopefully, there is a video clip. I cannot remember the last time I returned an item.

I like and being a former model I know how it will fit. 😎I think I have returned maybe one
thing and that because it was defective and I had no issues with the return.

Some days I don’t feel well and I may want to send a family member something nice way

best especially those who may lose their jobs. This will be a process and I believe patience
is a virtue.

I know you may be tired and I hope you were able to get to the store today. Oodie you
mentioned Costco may have a strike I think we will know later tonight. I hope that can

Glad you can get outside to walk. It’s nice to be outside. Does Poppy wear a dog coat?
I hiked outside too. Went early as my hubs went to take his parents to visit an Asst. Living place. I doubt, even in their 90’s, they will move forward with it. It’s crazy expensive for these depression era folks. It’s really a price jab just like the other prices here. Eggs $9 – $13 per dozen – no thanks.
We are expecting lite rain next week. Son’s been back to work and Mtn. biked today. He’s almost there. Since it was the 80th Anniv of the Liberation; I will say one of the places my son went was Auschwitz. He mentioned it in the past and I was against it. But now I understand and think it’s good for the youth to see this part of history. He was glad he went.

All the cats are doing fine and eating as if they are indoor cats. I spend a good deal
on money on them but they are worth it. Eggs not so much!

Yeah we lost hubs brother about three years ago. My husband took it really hard.
One reason I do this thread maybe other threads is it take my mind off of things
I cannot control.

Terrible news a small plane crash in Philly. My hearts goes out to all affected and from what I am
seeing it is pretty bad a child was killed being brought to one State from me. We have
a niece in Springfield, MO and it was her father that passed in Wichita. We still have plenty
of family there.

Too much going on in life I need a real vacation I just want to sit by water and have a great
meal served in a wonderful place. 💕

Talked to sis this morning, plane was a little late yesterday so they didn’t land until 11:00PM. Stayed at the hotel and got home around noon today. I will probably stop there tomorrow or Sunday.

Good evening Sheba, sending prayers to Kansas, and to all of the families of the tragic accident in Washington, DC. I remember the one that happened in January of 1982.
I also hope you are feeling better and your sinus is giving you some relief.

I was just thinking about how long can the TV shopping channels sustain. And now I read about the changes. I have purchased many items from QVC in the past. That’s many years ago. Now days I don’t even turn the TV to QVC, however, it was just a matter of time this would happen. Everything is over priced, and can be found on Amazon, Walmart, Target and other places such as Temu. Mostly with a better price and free shipping. The sad part will be that people may lose their jobs.
So I guess I will be shopping else where for the items I some time purchase from HSN.

We have a prime membership on Amazon. I have purchased the Perlier Line products and Wolfgang Puck items. Lately I have been placing lots of orders from Temu. At my age I didn’t think I would be making so many purchases. Organizing my kitchen and bathroom, like on Amazon, the key is to search the item you want. There is more then one vendor and they all have different prices. I found an under the counter Organizer both on Amazon and Temu, the very same item. Amazon wanted $43.00 dollars for it. Temu had its lowest price for $8.99 , imagine that the very same item. I have purchased so much on Temu, it’s addictive 😄. From kitchen towels, table runners, rugs, door mats, Sponges, lots of Christmas items and much more.
Nevertheless I will miss HSN.

Good evening I don’t think it is over for HSN. 😎I do shop on QVC but I don’t watch QVC.
I cannot name a host or vendor. I do buy higher end products from them like Dyson,
and the use to have a beautiful rug company I brought about 6 rugs. I don’t think you
want to hear me get start on the swarovski lights. I could go on. I never needed to watch
I knew what I wanted. My Step-Mom brought it to my attention years ago.

I do my best in the HSN Community. I buy more than the most people and I don’t have
anything on flex pay that’s just me. 😎I rarely return anything. If it is something I need right
away I go to SEPHORA minutes from my home. I have been with HSN so long I will continue
to watch regardless. I hope people will not be affected by the loss of a job because that can
happen anyway in this day and age. This is just so sad.

I don’t like the way they talk about the Hosts that is so mean girls. I don’t have time for that
kind of hate. 😎

This is insane with all that is going on in the world. Good grief!

I am a bit tired. Today was garbage and recycle and I was able to do both. Did laundry and now back to kitchen KP.. The news yesterday was devastating. I was with hubby when the accident occurred. Both of us were shocked. I left after 10 pm.

I had a feeling that both HSN and QVC would eventually merge. I can understand their reasoning, but it is one of the largest businesses in Florida. I feel sorry for the new hosts as well as the ones that have been with HSN since their beginnings in the mid 80s. However, I do think that leaving Florida is much more than they are telling. Over the last three or four years we have had some real major hurricanes that have impacted not only customers but businesses as well. Some are still digging out from the last two storms, But it is not only the storms but the insurance costs. Many Insurance companies have left the area and at the same time left people looking for alternatives. Though Citizens have remained, the cost has gone up and again Citizens can only do so much. In so doing, Citizens had to leave people stranded. There is nothing we can honestly do to change the forecasts. However, Insurance companies could change their tune and offer something to homeowners. I surmise that once I head North, I may be one of many who will not return to the Sunshine State. This is the second year in a row that I had to replace a roof. It’s not cheap. Guess hubby and I will need to weigh the good with the bad.

I will not be going to the rehab today. Will do some work tomorrow morning and then head out to Costco. Hubby has asked for ice cream, so will check the food court. The Rehab is less than 5 miles from Costco. And speaking of the Rehab, just noticed another shake up. Seems we are now on our second Unit Manager in less than 4 months. The male RN that I liked and who would walk me to my vehicle when he was working has not been seen in over two weeks. Our favorite aide seems to think he is on vacation. But the most anyone takes is one week. Wish they were more up front. I have given notice to both the Social Workers and to Business Management that I am working on getting hubby home ASAP. I hope to have the majority of the work done by the end of February. That would give both of us some time to get acquainted with the new things and be better equipped for returning Northward. I hope and pray that I can do this.

Good evening I did read your post do you think the weather may have played a role in
the coming changes to HSN? I think it is in a beautiful location I can still buy from my
vendors no issues there. I just hate to see people lose their jobs. I think this will affect
St. Pete’s Economy I will wait to see what happens once all is said and done.

I hope people can find employment without uprooting unless they want to anyway.

I had recycle day and the works today in the rain. 😎 I want the snow and ice to melt.
Poppy and I are back to our routine. I had to turn the Telly off too much going on.

It seems Tampa sees most of the storms and then some. I can go back maybe ten years ago when Bill Green was a host and a hurricane was forecasted for St.Pete and Tampa. That was the time that Barry Diller owned HSN. A few days prior Bill took an entourage to Texas and did a Broadcast from another shopping channel. This last episode with Helena and Milton, QVC hosted HSN. It seemed that everyone enjoyed each other’s company and that may have been the beginning of a spark for HSN to move/relocate. The price for homeowners insurance alone is sky high. I submitted the cost of the new roof to Citizens along with the roofing company I chose. They did not cover half of the cost for expenses. There are still people in our community waiting for a new roof or a front entrance. These are people on my street. My next door neighbor is missing their entire den in the back. They need a whole new structure before a roof can be built. The last storm was in October. Very difficult situations for all of us. The Homeowners I was using gave me three months notice towards the end of 2022. We had no choice but to go with Citizens. Some were leaving and others refused to take on new customers. Citizens is the last resort. If they drop us or anyone else, it would mean paying out of pocket. Some people will not be able to afford the next disaster. Many restaurants, retail businesses, doctors, lawyers etc. are leaving and going elsewhere. Last summer, a pizza place opened. The people who owned it were from the Bronx, New York. Their restaurant was busy and you had to wait forever for a reservation. The food was excellent. I stopped there the first week they opened and picked up not only a pizza, but some grinders as well. I did this at least once or twice a month for hubby. After the hurricane I decided it was time to pay a visit. Went past their restaurant only to find it is now a breakfast fare. Guess they didn’t like the weather and returned to the Bronx. This is happening on both the East and West Coast. These last two storms brought floods, tornadoes, etc.. Milton was mostly wind in our area. The streets were mainly dried as I drove from the shelter to our home. But, the devastation was horrid. It looked like a war zone. HSN’s move may be OK as long as they remain separate from QVC. And with some of the other shopping networks closing down, the vendors will be looking for a new home to sell their goods. Vendors like Heidi Daus will have just a few hundred miles to go from New Jersey to Pennsylvania. I still wonder if DeSantis, the Governor in Florida, will try to make a deal with the company. Time will tell.

I forgot to add that I was quite surprised to read that HSN is more interesting than QVC and possibly doing better than her sister network. No wonder the owners want to bring HSN to PA.. If insurance costs were lower or there were more insurance companies to deal with then it would not surprise me that QVC would move to Florida. A few y ears ago on our way North, we made a wrong turn and saw where the main QVC station was located. The entrance left quite a bit to be desired. In Lancaster, Pa., I happened to see a QVC outlet store and went in. The place inside was in shambles with clothes and shoes strewn along the floor. Boxes on shelves were empty. Other items had parts missing. The help were just talking among themselves. No one bothered to pick up merchandise and return to shelves or hang clothes on hangers. I walked out. Never did return.

To understand our feelings you need to know that both hubby and I grew up in our family’s retail business. Hubby’s dad owned a deli. My dad was a pharmacist and his business included liquor, toys, cosmetics and a fountain for sandwiches, ice cream, etc.. In those early days my Mom worked side by side with my dad. She was the cashier up front. Dad would leave the house early morning because newspapers, magazines, puzzles and other material were all bundled at the front door by 5 am each morning. Hubby would often go with his Dad to NYC to the deli district to pickup the order for their store. Hubby, as a kid, enjoyed this trek. The smells from the area were a treat for him. His mom also helped.

I remember as a kid, probably around the age of 6 or 7, taking the shelves with toys a part to clean the shelves that I could reach. My dad used to come over and whisper in my ear that I was not permitted to do that because I wasn’t of age. It went in one ear and out the other. I always found retail to be exciting and meeting people the heart of the business. Those early days have never left our minds or hearts. Both of us are delighted that we had that experience. It has helped us through our daily lives and that includes learning new things and ideas.

Sheba, Hope you find your relative in Witchita well. Guess we will all find out more about what happened once the investigations are completed. The loss of life is tragic.
On the tb, I had a colleague catch it at work doing client training. All those clients coming in and out everyday, she had to take antibiotics for a year, delay her pregnancy, also no drinking.
I’m sure it was a long year for her.
It sounds like your SIL has some good news. I’ll keep rooting for her recovery!
Nice post about removing those toxic people from your life, it’s good advice.

Good evening and thank you for thinking of my family. Taci my husband’s brother passed
in Wichita that is where his children and family still live. 😎💕My BIL passed from Bile Duct
Cancer. My husband made it through that awful time.

My nieces have families of their own and I always keep in touch and we visit. 💕😎
It’s in OZ so it is not far.

I had to turn the Telly off as I call it. This is a bit much. The TB scare does not help.
We are all masking up. My sniffles are over and I had no coughing. I would not want to
be on meds like antibiotics for a year. I live in the ‘burbs and I am not around a lot of people.
I did this during Covid I limit who I am expose to. I like walking its great for the body. I intend
to keep walking as I love the fresh air and nature. There are no people where I walk with
Poppy and it is a mile twice a day. 😎💕 I know the time to go walking everyone is at work.

SIL had some good scans and the cancer has not spread and that is good news. 💕😎
Meanwhile the Chemo goes on this can drain anyone and it can happen to anybody.

I hope your son is back to normal and doing his thing. 😘💕😎

Oodie I am sure the whole world knows that OZ has some TB cases. I still mask up.
I never stopped not in five years. I masked up before Covid due to getting the flu
while shopping in a grocery store it was the only place I went that week. I ended up
in the ER and they did a test that revealed I had the strain in the last 24 hours. The only
place I went all that week was the grocery store and I can remember someone sneezing
and I went oh snap!

I am visiting a sleeping hubby. Brr, it is extreme!y cold. Feels like 20 degrees. No, I am not exaggerating. My fingers absolutely froze one into another. The aide brought me a blanket. To think I have a lap quilt in the car.

Well, I had back to back appointments since Monday. The tire light went on and a half hour appointment turned into 2 1/2 hours. Did an oil change. One tire turned into four. Battery taken out and cleaned. New battery not needed. They washed the exterior when done . car good as new. The next two were bank problems. Everything now is good.

Hope your SIL is ok from chemo. The tests are necessary to see if any of the cancer is getting smaller or starting to die out. Hopefully, there are no new lesions. Getting good news will certainly help her ongoing attitude and put some smiles on her face as well on everyone elses. It will be a long journey with many ups and downs.

Stopped at our Farmer’s Market. Went primarily for their homemade bread and pie. Ended up with veggies and fruit. Also picked up a small pkg. Of lobster cakes which are made on the premises. Has a good spicy kick to it. Your hubby would love it.

Have a great evening. Feel better and soon. Looks like TB is making the rounds. Your State is not alone in fighting this disease. Guess it is time for me to mask up again. So what else is new???!!!

Good evening glad you are seeing your husband. So sorry for it being so cold. I never heard
you say how cold Florida gets. Glad they had a blanket for you.

SIL is doing well tonight she had two scans today and the cancer has not spread. This is
a fight she seems to be winning. The kids and my brother and our kids are all helping out. 💕

Oz has some big things going on this TB is no joke. I have my Joy Clean Boss and I am wiping
everything done. I have my masks that I wear to keep the flu at bay. 😎

I see things will change up here in the future. Whatever! 😎

The temperature will be in the mid 70’s and low 80’s this week. I wish I could send you some of this nice weather your way. I hope you feel better soon.
The bunnies came, they have been coming everyday now. I also get to see lots of birds this time of year, and the cardinals are back.

Brazil’s Carnaval will take place at the end of February. And comes to an end on Ash Wednesday. I am sure the Samba schools are practicing everyday on the streets.

I had ordered a few organizers for pots/pans and lids. They arrived today and are already in use. My pantry is somewhat organized and have a little more room.

I am working on the White Chili and finding the clip from the chef I saw do it. I just have
to try it. 💕

Glad the bunnies are still coming the cats have all been fed tonight and I feel good about
that they all made it through a brutal winter I was up night and day. I have the sniffles
and I am dealing with it the main thing is it is just annoying.

I have taken some meds so I will try to get some rest the headache is part I don’t like.

Sheba, Take 2 here. Son is still sick but it isn’t too bad. Thanks for thinking of him. He drove a car on this trip for the 1st time. Hubs helped him prep a bit but he said it was a good experience.
So many people get sick flying. Son said he was fine until the layover in Fl where people were coughing everywhere and not covering. Last trip I wore a mask on the plane, there and back, and it was the 1st time I didn’t get sick in a long time.

about your husband’s care is between the both of you. I think it is time to enjoy life and not
do so much. I love your travels and I pray you are able to keep doing that.

Glad the Aide is back to work and healthy. Oz is cold but we have the sun. Poppy and I have
been back to our routine. Poppy walks me and I am very careful during this type of weather.

I am having some sinus issues and I am going to pick up something to help me deal with it.
No biggie just annoying!

I like the input from the RN, however, hubby and I have already discussed Assisted Living and right now he wants to be home. The only problem he sees is being an albatross of which I mentioned that that will never happen. I have done my homework and found all kinds of equipment at our disposal or to purchase that have answered many of our concerns. We will most likely visit some of the Assisted Living areas and will decide when it is time, to put our name on a wait list. This will enable us to look around for a better home, probably up North, to help with our needs. We definitely do not want to live in Florida year round. If we could own our home in an Assisted Living environment, that would gives us some room for thought. Right now you rent a spot that is smaller than an average home. Actually, the largest I have seen is about 450-500 sq.ft.. The cost to rent starts at $4500 per month. That does not include the use of the RNs or Aides or eating in the dining room. It does not cover the amenities that are part of your home life. Less costly to be in your own home with help if needed. Both of us have weighed the pros and cons. We will start with our home in Florida and then return North when we are able.

Today is a new day with new beginnings. I will keep everyone up to date on our climb and new adventures. Cruising is at the top of our list. Traveling is something the both of us enjoy. Being handicapped is not a can’t do, but is a can do with extra hands and wheels. I will love the adventure. It will keep both of our minds going.

Good morning in S. California. Funny how we are all on different time zones. Taci as I type
this post it is 1:00 p.m. here in OZ yet in California it is 11:00 a.m. in Florida it is 2:00 p.m.

I hiked today to get outside and enjoy the area.
My son came home last night from his trip to Central Europe and is a bit sick. I’ve given him some of Andrews Jasmin green tea and honey. I don’t keep a lot of honey as some of those tiny ants get in the sealed jars. Smart ones they are, as I don’t know how they do it.
We got a little rain last night which helped with the poor air quality.

Hi. Arrived home after 11pm last night. Too late to post and also too tired. Didn’t shop yesterday. Instead arrived to see hubby earlier due to weather. Our favorite aide was back and hopefully whatever bug he had, I hope is long gone. Had a long chat with the on duty RN just before leaving. She feels hubby would do better in Assisted Living. I tend to agree to a certain extent. He would definitely get the help he needs and I can still prepare his meals. They would help him to go from bed to wheelchair, etc.. What I do not like is the cost and the size of the apartment. I would really need to downsize. No closet space and laundry is either shared or you have the facility do it. The amenities are OK like you have a choice of either eating in a dining room or your apartment. TV for the most part would be in a community room rather than your apartment since you would be essentially in a 350 sq.ft home to 500sq.ft.. It also will depend upon what you choose since there are many Assisted Living places in Florida. It is something to think about, however, I definitely will have help in our home as needed. My only concern is getting hubby from bed to chair and vice versa. This will also be more of a concern when traveling, thought I am finding things that may help with daily activities. I now know there are wheelchairs specifically for showers and also one that fits over a toilet. His mind is also better. The short term memory loss is becoming less and less. The only thing he seems to forget is that he cannot stand or walk. The rehab seems to be forgetful on their part, however, there is an outpatient rehab that may be the answer when hubs is home. For now, home is the better answer and as problems arise so will there be answers. I think for now, home is the best
alternative and less of a deterrent

I think I finally figured out what happened to the top of the stove. It may have been the pan the turkey was in was too hot for the top and probably too heavy since the turkey was still in the pan. I definitely will be more cautious especially when turkey season rolls around. And, I love your idea of the noodle. Yes, it has many uses and it will certainly come in handy.

Weather is changing in Florida. The temp is now beginning to rise a bit. It’s in the mid 50s as I type and when I can finally get out, 60s sounds very promising. Tonight’s temp will again be in the mid 40s, but that will change either tomorrow or Monday with the highs in the 10w 70s and nights in the low to mid 50s. No rain in sight this week, though that could change. I’m not going to say we are now out of the woods for low temps.. We still have the month of February to go through and the first couple of weeks in March. Anything can happen.

Enjoy your warmer days. Stay safe when walking at night. The temps still have a tendency to do funny things, especially when the temps drop. Tread carefully. You may have to tell Poppy to slow down. Have a great day and then some.

I am hoping and praying that your SIL will get some good news for a change. She needs to smile more and frown less. There are a lot more therapies today for pancreatic cancer. More so now than when Justice Ginsberg was around. She will have many ups and downs during the treatment, but as the medication begins to work, many things could happen all at once. Never lose hope. Keep the smile and energy going and most of all to never lose hope.
