Conversation 24
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 24 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

NATIONAL EDUCATION AND SHARING DAY
National Education and Sharing Day is observed annually on the 11th day of the month of Nisan on the Jewish calendar – or 4 days before Passover begins.
-
NATIONAL HIGH FIVE DAY
Each year on the third Thursday in April, we observe National High Five Day. This is a fun day where you can “High Five” everyone that you see.
Folklore fills the hallowed halls of sports stadiums concerning the origins of the high five. From the basketball to the volleyball court and baseball stadium, the sports metaphor has been well worn on this topic.
The two most well-known claims take place in less than a two-year time span.
During the last 1977 regular season Dodgers’ game, Dusty Baker hit the home run that made the team the first in history to have four players with at least 30 regular-season home runs each. As Baker rounded third and headed home, Glenn Burke waited at home plate to congratulate him. In a moment that is Dodgers history but was never televised, Burke greeted his teammate by raising his hand, and they slapped hands in a victorious high five.
During basketball’s 1978-79 season, the University of Louisville basketball team switched up their regular low-fives on the home court thanks to Wiley Brown and Derek Smith.
Out of all the triumphant sports gestures, such as the fist bump, fanny slap, fist pump, end zone dance, and chest bump, the high five stands in a class all its own.

NATIONAL ANIMAL CRACKERS DAY
National Animal Crackers Day on April 18th each year celebrates a childhood favorite. A box of these sweet animal-shaped crackers not only provided a delicious snack, but they also offered a little entertainment, too!
The celebration brings us back to our childhood memories and the many boxes of Animal Crackers we shared with our friends. Animal Crackers refer to a type of small cookie baked in the shape of circus or zoo animals, such as a lion, tiger, bear or elephant. The most common variety is light-colored and slightly sweet. However, makers also offer chocolate and frosted varieties, too. Even though animal crackers are made with layered dough, much like crackers, they are sweet like cookies.

NATIONAL EXERCISE DAY
National Exercise Day on April 18 offers inspiration to try new ways of becoming fit and healthy. These days there is no reason not to do something for your health. Including healthier eating habits too.
Not just for health enthusiasts, this is a day for everyone. Sure, you’re busy you say, we all are but each of us can find a little time each day just for a short walk or calisthenics right after waking up.
Today is also a great day to start a simple exercise routine and invite a friend for motivation. Perhaps a flower or vegetable garden is the inspiration you need to get out and exercise. Give it a try!

National Lineman Appreciation Day on April 18th honors the men and women who work around the clock to keep the power going!

Plant the seeds today, for a garden you will love tomorrow…how do we do that? Well, you can weed out the negative thoughts and replace them with seeds of hope and positivity. You can let yesterday go and focus on caring for your garden today…You can establish positive self talk, self worth and self love…sprinkle it with authenticity. It takes action, planning and perseverance to cultivate a life you love, but when you do, the life you have imagined will begin to blossom and grow.
so let’s get digging, we’ve got work to do…the life we love is about to BLOOM! -xx

I am still under the weather, though better. Sinus issues as well due to grass pollen. No rain in sight for the next week or so. Temp has been in the low to mid 80s and I have the A/C on. Was able to do a load of laundry and just waiting for the dryer. I will try to visit hubby today and hopefully will be able to stay longer that just 10 minutes. I did see him briefly yesterday so he could sign some papers for our accountant. He was in bed and I was appalled. His words to me were “get me outa here.” Well, I am trying. The holdup is the hospital bed which I need more info on. I am hoping to meet with the head nurse this week. I think in this one I will need to pay out of pocket so trying to find a good one that costs less. I will also need to find an alternative to our metal bed side tables which are too large for the space. Hubby wants to have a say in this as well and again I am trying to figure out how to get him from car to store and then back to car. I said he has one good leg, however, that’s another issue. He isn’t receiving the Physical Therapy and I will let t he head nurse know. Actually, I have already done so and still waiting for his response. Also, hubby was not told that I was under the weather and when I arrived yesterday I could tell he was a nervous wreck. When he head my voice, he realized there was a problem. So, that was another issue.
No, I didn’t pick the van up yesterday or today. I am still contagious and do not want anyone becoming ill because of me. Hopefully, the van is in a safe place. I will try tomorrow. I was able to get to Aldi’s and picked up the items I desperately needed. Packed up inside the store and made it home within a half hour. Record time for me. I did purchase ice cream and now to decide how to get it to hubby before it melts. (LOL)
