Conversation 24
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 24 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

All I can say is wow!!! That looks DElicious.🍰🍰 Going out this weekend for mom’s birthday so that may be dessert.
Nice day temperature-wise so decided to clean the oven. It was very comfy with the kitchen window and dining room door open. We may be in the 80’s this weekend.
Sending loads of hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

Our van is going in for some much needed maintenance. The computer light was on when it needed repaired work. Hopefully there will not be any additional challenges when it’s ready which will be sometime this afternoon. Depending on what time I receive a phone call will either go today or tomorrow.
Hubby wants home in the worse way. However, he forgets that he needs to be able to do some things on his own. these include: getting in and out of bed on his own, using the bathroom, etc.. He forgets he is dead weight and that there are some things that I won’t be able to do. We will definitely have help, And I will do everything possible to keep him home. I am finding that the head nurse sometimes talks on both sides of his mouth. Not sure if he really is helping me to get hubby home. I definitely will need a hospital bed or something similar that will raise his head and legs. Also to be able to raise the bed to change linens, etc.. I am thinking of two twins where one will fill his needs. Thankfully, our master is large enough to accommodate the new furniture.
At the moment I am also concerned with hubby’s roommate. Last week he mentioned an excruciating pain in his lower back. I immediately had the thought that it was the big “C.” During the past few months he started coughing. He is a smoker and would join the group several times per day outside. I also noticed that he was losing weight. Yesterday was my first day back following not being well over the weekend. This time a decided change. All skin and bones and now on intravenous. He is a nice person. Always with a smile. Loved to chastise me when I was reading or doing puzzles or using Kindle Fire for my thirst of jigsaws. I will certainly miss this roommate. I just wish there was something I could do or say that will make him smile and alleviate the pain even for a little while. He has had no visitors, yet I do know there are family members and friends around. He has enjoyed my visits with hubby and the word search puzzles in large print that I bring whenever possible. He also was a reader and grabbed loads of books from the Rehab library. Hopefully, he will feel a bit better when I see hubby today and maybe get him to smile. It may be the last time.

Finding Time for You
We can excel easier in our lives when our own spiritual, physical, and intellectual needs are fulfilled.
Within each of us, there is a well of energy that must be regularly replenished. When we act as if this well is bottomless, scheduling a long list of activities that fit like puzzle pieces into every minute of every day, it becomes depleted and we feel exhausted, disconnected, and weak. Refilling this well is a matter of finding time to focus on, nurture, and care for ourselves, or “you time.” Most of us are, at different times throughout the day, a spouse, a friend, a relative, an employee, a parent, or a volunteer, which means that down time, however relaxing in nature, is not necessarily “you time.” Though some people will inevitably look upon “you time” as being selfish, it is actually the polar opposite of selfishness. We can only excel where our outer world affairs are concerned when our own spiritual, physical, and intellectual needs are fulfilled.
Recognizing the importance of “you time” is far easier than finding a place for it in an active, multifaceted lifestyle, however. Even if you find a spot for it in your agenda, you may be dismayed to discover that your thoughts continuously stray into worldly territory. To make the most of “you time,” give yourself enough time on either side of the block of time you plan to spend on yourself to ensure that you do not feel rushed. Consider how you would like to pass the time, forgetting for the moment your obligations and embracing the notion of renewal. You may discover that you are energized by creative pursuits, guided meditation, relaxing activities during which your mind can wander, or modes of expression such as writing.
Even if you have achieved a functioning work-life balance, you may still be neglecting the most important part of that equation: you. “You time” prepares you for the next round of daily life, whether you are poised to immerse yourself in a professional project or chores around the home. It also affords you a unique opportunity to learn about yourself, your needs, and your tolerances in a concrete way. As unimportant as “you time” can sometimes seem, it truly is crucial to your well-being because it ensures that you are never left without the energy to give of yourself. AMEN! 😎
