Not to worry. Just a little dent in the road. The first thing I really need to do is to get hubby out of the Rehab for a few hours. Just the two of us. The Head Nurse mentioned that I should use my vehicle instead of the van since it is lower and will be easier to get him in and out. I would love nothing better than to take him to Costco or for that matter our new Farmer’s Market. Costco is only 4 or 5 miles West of the Rehab. The other is more like 10 East. Either one is doable. Right now I am not sure if I have a cold or sinus infection. Hubby was coughing his head off Wednesday and Thursday and the nurses and aids said it was my fault. However, yesterday I awoke with an awful headache and sore throat with a good case of laryngitis. That is when I realized it was not my fault. It took q few hours for my voice to return somewhat and I immediately made a call to the Unit Manager. I explained the situation and said I had the same symptoms as hubby. I haven’t heard a thing since, except he was supposed to check on him. The one thing I don’t want is for him to get pneumonia again. Yes, we both have the shot for that one. I will keep all of you posted. Not sure yet about visiting tomorrow. Will see how I feel and how the coughing is before leaving. But when I get there, the aids and nurses will get an ear full. That is for certain. I made the salmon salad a different way this time. The salmon was in a can and I was too lazy to mix in the spices. I used chopped onion, a couple of teaspoons of relish and instead of mayo, used Caesar salad dressing and added about 3 teaspoons of sugar free marmalade. I have to admit it was delicious and I made a sandwich and brought it with me so I could eat with hubby. Hubby had finished his dinner and wanted a taste. I had spooned in about a quarter of a cup into a plastic container. I knew he would want to try it. There was no celery or bok choy. It was easy to swallow. And he started coughing anyway. I also brought applesauce which he didn’t want. I had run out of lettuce, so it was just a plain salad. He loved the flavor and I said I would make it again. While I was there, I also started coughing that same evening and didn’t feel well. Normally, I would have left, but I didn’t think I could drive, so I stayed an extra hour. I arrived home after 10:30pm. Made all 8 traffic lights (guess it knew I wasn’t feeling that great) and was home within 15 minutes. The pollen in Florida is horrendous. I have had headaches and migraines for the past two or three weeks. The sinus meds have helped.

Again, thank you for thinking of me. I know you are all behind me 110% and that helps a lot. I will definitely take care of business. I just hope hubby is OK. Monday I will be picking the van up. Just do not like Uber. But at least the dealership will be paying for it.

I think you know how I feel about all of this. I don’t think they appreciate you at the Rehab.
Oodie you do all the work on getting your husband ready to come home. I wish I could fly
up there on a broom and click my three inch heels and all Hades will break out.

I just feel for you this has been a long journey for you and him. Take your time getting
back on your feet and mask up when you do. Keep posting when you feel up to it.

Sometimes I want to hop a plane to FL. Speaking of which, I may not be posting much through end of the month. Just a heads up. The trails today were very happy. While I thought I might try a small brief run walk, my plan changed. Saw a pack of tame (sort of ) donkeys on the trail. Awesome and unexpected for sure.

Good afternoon Oodie. My head was about to explode when I read your comment about the rehab may prevent you from seeing your husband. Excuse me??? Unbelievable!!! I’m not there to see what’s going on but I think you need to get him home ASAP. He’s been there too long and now they are trying to control you both. Sounds like they are NOT trying hard enough to make him better to get back home. Whatever happened to all the PT he was supposed to receive? As you know, that can be done at home along with other things. I feel he is being treated as a resident, not a patient.

I certainly hope I’m not upsetting you but I am upset a couple thousand miles away. Get well, stay well and I’m sending hugs and prayers your way.🤗🙏🤗

I am feeling a bit better today. The energy is starting to resurface, but I will take it easy. Slept most of yesterday. I haven’t touched basis with the Rehab since my voice comes and goes. The cough is on it’s way out and not sure if this was a sinus attack or just a virus. All I can say is thank goodness for the Immune vitamins from Andrew. I will not be setting foot into Rehab until the cough is completely gone. I don’t need anything else to keep me from seeing hubby.

I think I will need some help when hubby is home. Right now the aids and nurses say I would need someone 24/7. I think I will be able to manage without a night crew. Though hubby may not be able to stand, he has two hands which can help mobilize him. I also will have a ramp for the van in case he is wheelchair bound. If that’s the case I may look into an electric wheelchair for the van as well as a scooter or just a scooter. I do not need someone to tell me that he cannot return home. As I said before, he would do better in a home environment where he is free to do the things he enjoys.

Well, better go find something to eat. I definitely need to shop for veggies and fruit, but will wait on that.

I hope xango is OK. Really miss her and her delightful recipes.
