Don’t worry about the anniversary. We celebrated the best we could under the circumstances. We, or rather I, will pull out the no stops when hubby returns home. Yesterday, we had a picnic for our 53rd. Cannot believe it and neither can he.

Today I managed to get our garbage out. Not enough in the Recycle bin for that pickup. I am also doing a load of laundry which includes Hubby’s items as well. Guess he will be wearing hospital jammies today since his closet is now on empty. Why they wait so long to hand me things is beyond me. Anyway, he will have clean items to choose from starting tomorrow.

Hubby’s appointment with the urologist has been postponed until next Wednesday in the afternoon. Had a phone call this afternoon that it has to be rescheduled since our urologist has emergency surgery scheduled for tomorrow. I hope all goes well with that patient and his/her’s family.

I am wondering, if by chance, xango is in Brazil visiting her family. If so, she may not be able to send us a hello. Also, I just read that in certain areas of Brazil, there are quite a few mosquitos flying around that carry diseases. Then again, I also remember that if she has nothing to say, she doesn’t type. I just hope she is OK and is cooking up a storm for the freezer.

The sun is out today with temps in the mid 70s. We will be in the mid to upper 60s tonight. I have a feeling we will be jumping right into summer since the humidity is starting to climb as well.

Sheba, our rain was overnight. Hopefully you have lots of fun things to do inside your home.
When I can’t go out, I am known to clean and organize.
I know you miss your kids.
Today I cleaned the Amber necklace and the back of the earrings. While I am happy with the pieces, they always need to be cleaned. Plus the Necklace was put in a large gray bag and thrown in a 8×9 box without any foam or cushioning. It bounced around in the box from East Coast to the West Coast. I have to make sure it’s all ok without breakage or scratches. Since I don’t typically buy Amber, I am not sure if scratches are on it or if it’s the process of pressing it and normal.
Heidi at the end of the Month will be great. And her packaging is perfect.

Last night as I went out the door , I was greeted by torrential rain. There was lightning, but no claps of thunder. Rain lasted about an hour. No complaints here. We sorely need those droplets..

Wonder if xango is ok. Almost a month since she last posted. She had an anniversary that week. Hope she and hubby are celebrating .

I am at the rehab and getting ready to call it a night. Rain continued on and off today. All the outdoor plants seem to be doing their happy dance in the wind.I hope you are feeling better. Take care and enjoy your walk with Poppy.

I am home. I brought a picnic to hubby to celebrate our anniversary. I could not think of any place to serve a nice dinner just for the two of us. All that was missing was our wicker basket and blanket. We will celebrate when he is finally home and I can cook a great dinner for him. And speaking of that, he has a doctor’s appointment via telephone Friday afternoon. He will be using the Head Nurse/Unit Manager’s cell for the appointment. It will be a three way conversation. Following, sometime that afternoon, I will be sitting down with the Head Nurse to finalize a plan for hubby to return. He will need to learn how to get in and out of bed and to use the bathroom. I will meet with one of our neighbor’s to go over a plan for redoing the Master Shower to make it a walk-in. I will also be cleaning his wheelchair from the time he was in Savannah, Ga. and then will see if it will fit through the door. If so, he will be able to go straight through. For the toilet, I will be taking xango’s advice about attaching bars to the toilet This is something I have looked at prior to xango mentioning it in one of the posts. I will keep you and everyone who reads these posts an update. The second bathroom needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. I am hoping this can wait until after hubby is home. At the same time I will get our interior painted and new flooring installed.

Leaving hubby each night is very difficult. I probably could stay overnight since there are no hours for visitors to leave, though they cannot arrive before 9 am. I try to get there prior to dinner and leave between 9 and 10 pm. Depending on traffic and those traffic lights (8 of them, but who’s counting) it takes about 15-45 minutes to go 5 miles. I decided to re-clock the mileage, and it’s 5 miles, not 8 as I originally thought. I think that answers your questions. I surmise you are in bed and it’s time for me to do the same. Oz is a bit chilly I just finished feeding the critters I have to stop when the racoons come
they scare me. 😎 I do leave a bit for them. Taci sometimes we get Coyotes and that is
when the game is over! I don’t trust them they might try to eat Poppy and all Hades will
let loose if that happens because they will have to take me too.

Wear your new things in good health. 💕🎈Taci I do miss our son and all three of our
daughters our kids can come home anytime but they do like their jobs and careers.

I had a nice talk with my mom today and I am feeling Colorado again. I can’t wait to go back.

I do miss our son so much. What a time we had as a family. I was so grateful when he said
he would take care of Poppy and the outdoor animals when we went to Colorado. 😘💕🎈😎

All our children have brought home animals and that is how I because a young mother with
kids and animals. Hey one daughter even brought home a hamster and birds from her school.
The kids took turn bringing home animals.

I have had more cats and dogs than I care to remember and I took good care of all of them.
Hence the name Sheba now that was my favorite female dog. 💕🎈My grandmother would
watch a late night movie called Come Back Little Sheba and the name stuck forever. I wanted
Toto from the Wizard of OZ but that belong to the movie I wanted something else so Sheba
it was. 💕😎

I am sure your mother and sister will spill the tea on the Cruise Trip. 💕🎈

Sheba, Hello! Weather wise we are doing well. Expecting a Thunderstorm late tonight but there are no signs of it yet. The weather was great for today’s walk. A Coyote was watching me charge down a hill and once I noticed the pup, I stopped and was going to back track but the pup went into the side area. Then I went to meet up with a friend and sure enough the pup came out and crossed in front of our path and stayed on the side of it for a while, and seemed curious, not threatening. Kids. 🙂

Good afternoon in Oz. Two beautiful, warm summer days here.🌞 Cooler the rest of the week.

I am doing okay, lower back hurts a little so taking some Tylenol and forging ahead. Just have to be careful – and I don’t know how this happened. Could have been getting off a stool, pushing the vacuum, reaching for something?😏

Mom and sis had a 3-1/2 hour delay because of weather and plane issues. Never got to the ‘burgh until 12:20 AM. Very long day at the airport.😣 But all is well, I will see them tomorrow.

Creating What We Don’t Want

When our thoughts become consumed with worry, we become a beacon of worry to the world.
If prayer is an intention that we announce to the universe in order to create a desired outcome, then our every thought is a prayer. This includes thoughts of worry as well as of hope. All thoughts are subtle creative energy. Some thoughts are more focused or repeated more often, gathering strength. Some are written down or spoken, giving them even greater power. Every thought we have is part of a process whereby we co-create our experience and our reality with the universe. When we use our creative energy unconsciously, we create what is commonly known as self-fulfilling prophecy. In essence, when we worry, we are repeatedly praying and lending our energy to the creation of something we don’t want.

The good news is, we can retrain our minds and thoughts to focus our energy on what we desire to bring into our lives. Since most worry is repetitive, it will take more than one positive thought to counteract the energy we’ve created. The simplest antidote to worry is affirmations. When we hold these positive thoughts, repeat them often, speak them, write them, and refer to them throughout our day, we are using focused energy to create positive results.

We can start right away, together: I am a creative being, using my energy to co-create a wonderful world. I know that I create my experience of life from within, and as I do so, I also create ripples of energy around me that echo into the world. My positive thoughts gather together with the thoughts and prayers of others. Together, we create enough positive energy to heal not only our own lives, but the world we share. I am grateful for the ability to co-create good in my life and in the world.

A lot of times we have concerned loved ones who worry about us. When this happens they also are sending out a worry prayer to the world. A loving conversation letting them know what is happening is the easiest solution. Also, ask them to send you positive affirmations rather than worry about you. After all, worry doesn’t do them any good either. Explain to them that worry can actually be energetically harmful to you and that wishing good things for you is much more beneficial and much more fun, too. 😎🎈

Oodie I don’t like your husband and everyone else being cold in the Rehab.
Yeah he can get a cold or worse. Keep those blankets handy. I am so glad you
visit everyday Oodie I have feelings about those places based on my own father’s
experience. I have to say my Step-mother she did a good job making sure he had
everything. We talk some of the time she seems to travel a lot.

Oz is a bit warmer today and we have a little sun. Poppy and I had a good time
during our walk and we will go again later in the day.

I was at Aldi’s the other day and got sticker shock. I haven’t purchased eggs in a while and was totally surprised to see that they are almost $3/dozen. Their fresh fruit and veggies were higher than our Farmer’s Market. I purchased one of their small salads so I wouldn’t need to return home before seeing hubby. It looked good in the case, but when I arrived at the rehab it looked awful. I ended up tossing it into the garbage. The salad was in my freezer bag in an air conditioned car.

Prices have gone up, however our Farmer’s Market does pass on savings to their customers when they get a better deal. I am thankful for that, since other markets will keep the higher price even when it is lowered by the farmer or vender. Also, the foods I purchase do not have preservatives, thus I need to use it within a few days. However, our new frig does help to keep everything nice and fresh.

I was up most of the night because of water in our driveway. This has been going on for several days and I couldn’t figure it out when we have had no inkling of rain. Not even a drop. So last night I stayed up from 1:45 AM to 7:15 AM running water every so often from the tub and shower, all sinks and yes, all toilets. Every time I looked out from the front door there was nothing. Couldn’t figure out why. Around 7 AM I decided to put the garbage out and as I went down the driveway there was a huge puddle. It wasn’t until I got to the end of the driveway that I found the culprit. It was the new sprinkler system that our landscape gardener installed for the new plants. Evidently, the overflow goes under our home and makes a puddle and the overflow goes to our driveway which has an area that goes downward thus causing the water to collect in that spot. Well, now that I know the cause, will run out and sweep that water away. One thing for sure, I do not need to make a home for those mosquitoes.

I am now getting ready to make a couple of stops. Running late as usual, so what else is new as the saying goes. (LOL). Promised hubby’s roommate that I will look for Word Find Puzzles with Enlarged Print while I’m there for a few items for the house. Next door is the new Farmer’s Market. Hubby asked for a grinder and their famous Wedding Soup. I need some fruit and veggies along with fish. Guess I will make a quick stop at the house before venturing to Rehab.

It is close to 80 here with partial sun. We are expecting some rain and thunderstorms . Tonight will be in the mid 60s. A/C is off.

I am not a fan for jumping ahead an hour. I love the extra hour for sleep. However, if I am right, this change will become permanent in Florida starting this weekend. It will be interesting to see how the exrra hour works during the winter months.

period. I love all my pieces and they wear and look good as the day I brought them.
Iris Apfel quality is there and I love it.

Taci food prices are insane for certain things. The fruits and veggies here in OZ turn bad
after just three days. I went to eat strawberries I had brought fresh no more than three
days later and they had all white gooey stuff on them. The plastic container with the holes
had never been opened. I threw the entire container away. I will do this next time I will return
it to the store I purchased them from. The bananas turn totally black after three days and
are real soft to the touch in the trash it went. I wonder why fruits and veggies are not lasting
and get this the fresh bread cost 3.00 a loaf and when I go to use it there is green mold
all over it. I am really careful about what I buy and I make sure to do a forensic look at
all foods and expiration dates.

I am getting over the shock of all the fast foods asking for tips when you come there and
order. Get this the people working there have a little attitude problem they act like they
don’t want to be there. Here is a example I went into MickyD I just wanted something fast
and a little change up. The set up is different because I have not been in a MickyD in a long
time when the person waited on me they don’t smile or be friendly they just hand you the
food and I am suppose to tip them if I want to. I don’t think so.

I have no problem tipping for my eyebrows and hair stylist or anything personal to do with
me. I see a trend that may have started during the pandemic. I do have food deliveries but
I do tip them. No problem there. I donate and give monies to all kinds of charities.

I guess it is what it is. GREED!

Sheba, glad all the Iris Apfel items worked out for you. They looked so pretty. The Leaf and Petal flowers make me wish I had a green thumb.
I understand what you mean about the fruit. I usually do ok at Aldi. A few days ago I bought a canteloupe 2-pack from Costco, and one of the two had mold on it a day later, the rind was still greenish so it makes no sense. I cut it open hoping for the best but it was bad. The 2nd one of the 2-pack was good, luckily. The Farm Market near Oodie sounds so nice. Also, I get what you mean about tipping. Did you hear the one where someone went shopping for a wedding dress, went to pay and the retail clerk flipped the payment pad and it defaulted to a 20% tip. No way is that right. I usually get food at Rubio’s on Tuesday. Almost always the same to-go order for the family. I tried a few of the local one’s and settled on the best one up the street from me. They are awesome, never make a mistake, keep the place clean, are super kind, friendly, and a great group. I have left cash tips when I pick-up but since they will be getting a raise in April, that will stop. $20.00 plus dollars an hour. Wowza. Have a good evening.

Most humans are not born consciously knowing what their purpose is — it must be found through exploration.

Most living things belong to a particular soul group and are born knowing their purpose in life. Your purpose is as unique as you are and will evolve as you move through life. You don’t need anyone’s permission to fulfill your purpose, and no one can tell you what that purpose is. Finding and fulfilling your purpose can be a lifelong endeavor. To figure out what your purpose is, ask yourself what drives you — not what forces you out of bed in the morning, but what makes you glad to be alive. Make a list of activities that you wish you were involved in, or think about a career path that you would love to embark upon. These are the endeavors that can help you fulfill your purpose and bring you the most satisfaction.

Picture yourself working on projects that don’t interest you or fulfill your purpose, yet they help satisfy your basic survival needs. Imagine how living this way each day would make you feel. Next, picture yourself devoting your time to projects that spark your imagination, inspire, excite, and satisfy you. More often than not, these activities are some of the ways that you can fulfill your life purpose. Time spent on these endeavors will never feel like a waste. Live your life with purpose, and you will feel significant and capable because every action you take and each choice you make will have meaning to it. 😎

Good morning on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈😎Oodie I am glad you liked Iris Apfel
memory lane I posted. Oodie on that very day if you scroll further down I posted to
her it was in regards to her February 29 birthday of sorts she said she was 26 years old.
I love her sense of humor and most of all I loved her style. Iris Apfel has been a part
of this Thread for all the ten years I have posted and created the things on it. 😎🎈

I do own several pieces of her fashion and you can’t go wrong the quality if there and so
is the bold colors which I love. 💕I captured every birthday she had in the last ten years
and every holiday greetings. I will miss her so much. Iris had a life well lived. 💕😎

I did your post from last night I don’t think it is wise for your husband to be so cold all the
time and it’s not good for you either. Glad you were there to make sure he stayed warm.

Oz is almost 70 degrees as I type this. WOW! I am pretty sure that it is just for a few days
Ole Man Winter is not gone yet.

I am feeling better and I think the weather change has a lot to do with it. Well next week
we spring back. Shizzle!

Hubby was extremely cold. I did have another sherpa blanket for him. It had been washed and was sitting in the passenger seat. He absolutely refused me to go and get it, even when I mentioned that there was enough for two, maybe three., At least his bedding was changed (I will know better when I get there later). It is now over 70 here with a chance of thunderstorms in an hour. Debating about a long sleeved shirt, or a light weight sweater, or a T-Shirt with possible layering. As far as shivering in the Rehab, this happens often. Hubby was one of many who were complaining. I do worry that he could get pneumonia or other viruses. This is one of many reasons I want him home. He is trying. I have to give him credit for that. He insists on trying to get into bed by himself, but I cannot let him do it until Physical Therapy comes to the rescue. He has to learn the right way so he doesn’t fall. I think the walker can help, and I do have one sitting in the corner of our bedroom.

I actually did see the last post from Iris on the 29th. I also love the ad that said “I’m back.” This made me laugh out loud while visiting hubby. I could not contain myself. I still cannot believe she is gone. At least we can enjoy the memories, which will linger on, even beyond us. She brought the colors back into perspective. One thing for sure, many of us will continue to smile day after day just thinking about her. On that note, have a great day and enjoy a great soup day.

I love all the quality and bold pieces I have from her. I always said I hope to
be like her decades from now. What I meant by that is she always had a sense
of humor and her clothes were fantastic. 😎May she RIP! Heaven has a new star.

About the food prices not good. Taci a subway sandwich with no sides is over 16.00 here
in OZ and they have the nerve to ask for a tip on the cash register I said shut the front door.
Something is going on in the world and I think it is called greed. I have no problem tipping
in a sit down restaurant with wait staff this is not a problem. Fast food and you pick it up
is very much an issue.

Sheba, I remember the Iris Apfel jackets you purchased. Her passing is sad.
The tangerine figures and flowers are cool, and fun. I admire the creativity.
Omg to a $16.00 sub. I sometimes buy chocolate pudding but the price is so high now that I make my own healthier version. Yes, I don’t believe food inflation is real. Shoplifters need to be prosecuted and serve their jail time. One of the grocery stores near me has all the alcohol by the door. I have been in the store a few times where someone grabs and runs. Sometimes I hear an employee yell at them and try to chase. Commiefornia will have a new law in April where the fast food workers of certain sized businesses will make about $20 per hour (not something presented to voters to vote on and many feel it’s an outrage. Then for sure, no tipping. Talk about inflated wages, it’s how they try to grow Socialism. Hope we can undo it. Just crazy and beyond.
Jay King was wonderful today. He has a huge stock on HSN. Wow. I enjoyed watching him tonight.
Hike was awesome as it was very cool and crisp.

Things We Can’t Control

We develop grace as we learn, with the guiding hand of the universe, life will unfold exactly the way it should.

The idea of trusting the universe is a popular one these days, but many of us don’t know what this really means and we often have a hard time doing it. This is partly because the story of humankind is most often presented as a story about struggle, control, and survival, instead of one of trust and collaboration with the universe. Yet, in truth, we need to adhere to both ideas in this life.

On the one hand, there is much to be said about exerting control over our environment. We created shelter to protect ourselves from the elements. We hunted for animals and invented agriculture to feed ourselves. We built social infrastructures to protect ourselves and create community. This is how we survive and grow as a civilization. However, it is also clear that there are plenty of things that we cannot control, no matter how hard we try, and we often receive support from an unseen force — a universe that provides us with what we cannot provide for ourselves.

It is a good idea to take responsibility for the things in life that we can control or create. We work so we can feed, clothe, and shelter our loved ones and ourselves. We manifest our dreams and visions in physical form with hard work and forethought. But at a certain point, when we have done all that we can, we must let go and allow the universe to take over. This requires trust. It requires a trust that runs deeper than just expecting things to turn out the way we want them to. Sometimes they will, and sometimes they won’t. We develop equanimity and grace as we learn to trust that, with the guiding hand of the universe, life will unfold exactly the way it should. We are engaged in an ongoing relationship with a universe that responds to our thoughts and actions. 😎🎈
