Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 23 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

      EASTER
Easter is observed on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox. Considered Christianity’s most important holy day, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Depending on which calendar a church follows, some will celebrate the holiday earlier than others.

      Easter

Leading up to Easter Sunday is an entire season of observances beginning with Ash Wednesday, Lent’s official beginning. Lent is a time of fasting and reflection, which represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness for 40 days. Many know this as a time when Christians give something up for Lent.

Then during Holy Week, the Sunday before Easter is known as Palm Sunday. It commemorates Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem on a donkey just five days before the Romans crucified Him. Maundy Thursday remembers Jesus’s last supper; Good Friday is the day of the crucifixion; Holy Saturday is the period between the crucifixion and the resurrection; and Easter Sunday.

      EASTER HISTORY
Before Easter (Pascha), Passover was the primary holy day celebrated; however, Christianity closely links the two holidays. Jesus’s last supper was a Passover meal. By the 2nd century, Orthodox Christians also celebrated Pascha alongside Passover as well as pagan spring festivals.

The Easter Bunny tradition comes from medieval Germany, where the Osterhase or Easter Hare would lay its colorful eggs in nests prepared by children. In the 18th-century, settling in the Dutch Pennsylvania countryside, immigrants brought this fable and tradition to the United States.

Dying eggs is a tradition that dates back thousands of years across many cultures. Eggs symbolize rebirth, fertility, and life springing forth. Today Easter egg hunts take place across the country. It is not unusual to see children in their Sunday best surrounding a giant Bunny. Many will also get their picture taken too!

I am wishing you and your hubby a Happy Easter. I can just imagine all the food you created and wish I could be a fly on the wall to watch the preparation. I admire your skills in the kitchen and in many ways wish I could do the same. I also miss your posts and wonder if you are OK. Even if you have nothing to add, please say Hi. Hope your hubby is enjoying his new position and working from home. At least he doesn’t need to contend with the traffic. Maybe now, with some of the snowbirds heading home that part will not be as bad. Probably wishful thinking on my part. Tale care/ Stay safe. Hear from you soon, I hope.

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈😎Oodie wishing you a very nice Saturday.

I hope you are able to shop at your great markets there in Florida. I think all of us
want to visit Florida for that reason. 💕🎈

How are you doing today? No issues last night with the Critter. The cats are fine and they
all showed up for their feedings. 😎I don’t care if the Critter eat what is left by the cats
I was concerned at how fast it ran toward the cat he could have hurt the poor thing.

Oz is nice and sunny we are in the 50’s. YAY! This is a heat wave for us.

Oodie Passover seems late this year. Please let me know how things are going for you today.

Hi. I see you are kind of late. Hope all is well. I did leave a message for you earlier in last night ‘s post. Not sure if you saw it.

Yes, I made it to the Farmer’s Market. I was surprised that I was able to find a parking spot. They were busy, but not as expected. I surmise most did their shopping during the week. I was surprised to see fresh turkey for Easter. I found a small one and will make it on Monday. Looking forward to bringing hubby a complete meal for a change. They also had Reuben sandwiches and bought one for dinner. It was delicious. But, the prices on their vegetables were out of sight. Tomatoes were $1.49/lb. The yellow tomatoes were soft at $1.79/lb. Bok Choy (which I love) was $2.99 ea. Talk about inflation. And there were apologies all over. I purchased Stone Plums (they have the coloring of Pluots, but are larger. Probably normal size for plums). Most were too soft to purchase. Found 3 and brought them to hubby who devoured them. Hubby was in a good mood today. I did inquire about the bathroom and was told that the aids bring him in the wheelchair. With the aid of the bars he is able to lift himself up from the chair and get to the throne. They leave him alone, but do check to make sure he doesn’t fall. Actually they stand next do the door that is slightly ajar. So there are some things he can do for himself. The nurse did mention that I will be taught how to handle this situation if needed. However, they think with time he will be able to do this on his own. I will probably do what xango did for herself and that is purchase bars that attach to the toilet to enable a person to use the throne. I need to redo that bathroom and will add whatever is needed.

Tomorrow I will need to weed the front area which is now overgrown. Unfortunately, because of my sinuses, I have been unable to do this sooner. Probably will need to mask up and pray that there is no wind. Will do what needs to get done and do the side after the delivery of the dishwasher. We have pickup on weeds, tree limbs, plants, etc. on Wednesdays

Hubby is looking forward to a day away from Rehab.. I thought for sure he would like to see the new Farmer’s Market. No. Not the first choice. Probably the second or third. He wants to go to Costco and end up with the hotdog. I was and still am in shock!!!! I need to find the transportation for the handicapped and wonder if they will be able to help him use the electric cart. It would be a great outing for him and Costco is about 5 miles from the Rehab. The outing will give him the lift that is sorely needed to keep his spirit up there.

On this last note I am wishing you and your family a wonderful Easter and a great brunch. Nice to get together with family, even though it is a small group.

      @oodiebom,

Good morning on this beautiful Sunday Morning. I did see your post and I will respond
to it. I saw it late last night. 😎

I will show you why I was late posting and I wanted it to actually be Easter. 💕

We were watching The Ten Commandments it’s a tradition in my family.
This movie was made before I was born and I love it. 😎💕 This is a very long
movie but time really flies if you are into it. I decided that if I am already up
I may as well post for part of the day. 🎈I was also watching and feeding the cats
as they came and went. The other Critter wanted until the cats ate and then he came.
That is the way I want it. 💕🎈Food is expensive even our food is expensive as you
      noted in your post.

Oodie I bet you look gorgeous in anything blue with your blue eyes. 😘

I love your trips to the Orient I think I mention years ago I have an Asian themed house.
I mean those large screens and vases the works. I have been into the Asian homes for
decades. My dad had his store and connections in the Orient and he would order things
for me. Mother of Pearl is one of my favorites in some of the screens and plaques I own.

I am so glad you and your husband got to experience that beautiful country. I have a neighbor
that was born and raised in China she is married to an American and they have a little girl.
Oodie she is so cute and I go across the street and visit with them often as they are the
ones who took both of the cats my nextdoor neighbor did not want. The tabby cat still
comes to my porch and lay on her back so I can rub her belly. 🎈😎😘The cat likes to eat
too. I still look out for her as they let her out.

I am about to make a new post for you be careful outdoors. I also had a sinus problem yesterday and I was taking my time with everything. 😎

      • 03.31.24 4:47 PM

      @sheba2011

I cannot believe today is Easter Sunday. I had assumed that Passover was this weekend also. Seems the “Last Supper” and Easter were always (or seemed so) celebrated together. For some reason I kept thinking that the Holiday started the Saturday prior. I was in for quite an awakening when one of our relatives mentioned it was in April this year. No wonder I didn’t see any Passover items in March.

Forgot to mention that I adored the dancers and the dresses with the huge petals. The flowers are absolutely beautiful and an indication of things to come in the spring through the fall. If only my sinus headaches would go away. I was supposed to be weeding the front of the house, but will put it off one more day.

I do recall xango saying she would post when she had something to tell us and not to worry if she didn’t chime in. I think that was stated in February around the time of her anniversary. I had assumed she and her husband had gone away for a few days to celebrate and we would hear from her soon thereafter. I am hoping she is OK and I know we all are on the same page.

My parents home had an Oriental theme and I followed in her footsteps. I have a room divider that separates our laundry room from the kitchen. This contains three panels with what they called soapstone figurines. In Florida, I have two foo dogs on either side of our front steps. It took years to find these and are reminiscent of the ones we saw in China and Hong Kong on either side of a doorway or a retail shop (mainly their Arts & Crafts Store). While in Bangkok I purchased two dolls of Thai dancers and of course I have the Princess and Prince Porcelain Dolls from HSN. These are just a few of our many items, not including furniture. I love the Oriental artwork as well.

I love your animals and how you watch over them. I miss our Mensch, Ziggy (Zigzag) and Felix. All gone, but never forgotten. I am trying to obtain a service dog that will let me know when someone is at the door or the phone is ringing in another room. I also will need him/her to let me know when hubby isn’t feeling well. I need permission from our physician for this to happen. Where we live there are no pets permitted in our section. There are designated areas.
This includes fish, birds, hamsters, dogs, cats, etc… I am currently waiting for the prices of real estate to come down in order to find a new home. For hubby, this house has to have a walk-in shower, and an entry without steps. I am not sure if hubby will ever be able to walk again, so want to make life a bit simpler for him if in a wheelchair or an electric cart. Also not sure if we will remain in Florida due to the high cost of insurance for both auto and home. However, this could become the norm everywhere because of climate change.

Have a great day. I will type again later if home earlier enough. Today’s movie will probably be “Easter Parade.” I will need to check the stations and see if hubby’s TV carries it. Unfortunately, it is Satellite TV and they only are able to get a few channels. Stay safe and enjoy the moonlight with Poppy.

Good morning in S. California and may this day be a great day for you and your family. 🎈😎

All is back to normal in my little corner of the world. The Critters are all alright.

The food is expensive I don’t give them cheap food life is hard enough for them.
I am glad they know there is a safe place to come and eat. I do have a favorite he
is the Black Cat and I have been feeding him for three years. We have a connection now
he will sit on the porch and look at me through the glass doors. I love it I call him Kitty Kitty. 💕
I can see he appreciates what I do and he says so with his gestures. So sweet.

Taci Happy Easter to you and your family as always Happy Trails To You. 🎶🎶🎈😘

Sheba, those poor cats need nice homes. Nice you care and feed them.
We had rain again today. After many years of drought this is needed. I used to never check the weather because it was always the same.
Have a great day tomorrow. I think you will be busy with family.

      GOOD FRIDAY

The Friday before Easter commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the Christian Faith and is called Good Friday.

      GoodFriday

Christians around the world recall the biblical story of Jesus’s crucifixion on this day. The day goes by other names as well, such as Holy Friday, Black Friday, and Great Friday. Though sources conflict, the phrase “Good Friday” may have been derived from “God’s Friday,” though sources conflict.

The observance is central to the Christian holy season that leads up to Easter when Jesus Christ was resurrected. While Easter has become a traditional celebration in the secular world, Good Friday has remained a holy and spiritual observance.

      @oodiebom,

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈😎Oodie I did read your post from yesterday.
      How are you doing today?

Oodie I was on the phone with my niece in GA last night. I guess it was around 11:00 p.m.
late for us to be on the phone she is a teacher and they are on Spring Break. Well as I
was also feeding the cats as they come and go. Oodie one of the cats was eating his food
and in my security camara a huge Racoon charged up on my porch and took over the food.
The cat never saw him coming and ran off once he did. Well you can imagine what happened
next I went Bette Davis on the Racoon just to scare him off.

I told my niece to wait a minute and I grabbed my husband pistol it’s a BB Gun I wish it
was real because I never miss. Yeah we do have the real thing but thankfully it was locked
up. Hubby was already sleeping. I did not hurt the critter but he did not come back. This
was a large racoon who ran really fast the cat could have been hurt. Thank god he saw the
critter in time to move. The Critter finished off the meal fast.

The cat came back once things were back to calm I motion for him to eat as I put fresh
food out. 😎I watched through the camera as he ate all the food and went to rest for the
night I did not see the other critter. I picked the phone up and finished my conversation
with my niece. 😘🎈In OZ you have to multi-task. The image above is how the moon looked
when I went out and I love how Bette Davis shots a gun. LOL! 😎

      @sheba2011

Getting ready to visit the Farmer’s Market and maybe Aldi’s. Just wanted to say Hi before I left. Hubby is trying desperately to come home. Last night he wanted to use the bathroom and needed me to help him into a sitting position. He was in bed when I arrived. However, because of his weight gain and my problem with the lower back, I had to say NO. At the moment the Aid arrived and I mentioned what was going on. Hubby was infuriated that I said something. I will mention this to the head nurse after the weekend. I am also looking into the rides for the handicapped to see if they could drive him from the rehab to our home. and do a return trip a few hours later. I have no idea what this would cost. I think this may make him smile more and will help his return. Hmm……wonder if they would do restaurants…….

Glad you were able to scare the raccoon away and was a happy camper when you mentioned that the kitty had returned. Everything worked out in the end…..PHEW !!! My cat would have swatted the visitor. He loved his food and nothing would get between him and his dish. However, thankfully, I never had to find out. The only visitor we had in our home, and that was on the Cape,, was a skunk. It came in through our sliding den door while we were unloading our van. Our cat was sound asleep on one of the twin beds in the guest room. Never saw the skunk. I saw it out of the corner of my eye in the kitchen. I thought it was a black cat until I saw it again in our living room. Luckily I had some cat chow and made a line from the living room, through the dining room, into the kitchen and from there to the sliding door in our den. We both watched it eat his way out and gladly closed the sliders. Cat never knew we had a “house” guest.

I wasn’t able to watch HD, however, I did later on. What a show !!! I had my eye on the elephant necklace and cuff. Looking at the pictures prior to the show I had decided not to purchase because I felt it might be too overpowering. All that changed when I saw the video. I purchased both. The elephant reminded me of our trip to Bangkok from Hong Kong. I had taken some meds prior to the flight on an empty stomach to prevent air sickness. This was a wrong move on my part. I had no sooner sat in our assigned seats that I passed out. Hubby had to keep me in an upright position during takeoff. Luckily there was a doctor on board who had meds with him and he was able to get it to the stewardess. It brought me around in no time. Hubby was able to tell the stewardess that I had taken a pill prior to the flight and showed her the bottle. What I had to drink was snake venom mixed with other herbs. I was OK from that moment on, but reluctantly had to scratch our time with the elephants that afternoon.

Bangkok reminded me of a little New York. Busy place. Hustle and Bustle. Little cars called Toot toots that went on sidewalks to circumvent the heavy traffic. Most spoke English, so I didn’t need to pull out my dictionary. What scared me the most were the police stationed at either end of the hallway on our floor. To this day I have no idea why they were there. They never checked our luggage or the bags of things we purchased. They smiled when we bought food from the vendors to eat in our room. The food was awesome whether from a vendor or a restaurant. I was amazed at the fresh fruit and vegetables and the spices they used. So excited to learn some of their cooking habits and found it somewhat easy to incorporate into our diet, even today. Their jewelry exquisite. So sorry I didn’t buy the sapphire I saw. It was just too expensive. Bangkok was our second stop and we still other places to go. Today, we are both kicking ourselves for that reason. We have never seen a blue sapphire that brilliant to this day.
“C’est la vie” as the saying goes.

Have a wonderful day and a better one tomorrow. Happy Easter to you and your family. Stay safe.

to shop til you dropped. The Guards may have been there if there was a VIP in the Hotel.

What great memories I wish you had brought the Sapphire they would match your eyes.

Everything is back to normal with all the critters no one was harmed I got scared for a
moment with the Racoon racing toward the cat as he ate. I am so thankful he saw him
      in a split second.

I love all things Asian. 💕

Hong Kong is truly an amazing City so is Bangkok. 😎

@oodiebom, excuse me for butting in, but have you tried googling “senior transportation” in whatever city you live near in Florida? There seems to be several options available in a lot of places in Florida. Not all of them are just for doctor or hospital visits. I live in SW PA and Access takes people shopping, to bingo, and my aunt used to come to see me on the Access bus. These were door-to-door transports. We also had Older Peoples’ Transportation and they did pretty much the same thing.

Also, some of the changes you need to “aid the handicapped” for your husband at home may be covered by his medical insurance. I think it might be worth looking into. I wish you both the best of luck.

Glad you survived the “Invasion of the Cat Snatchers” last night.😲 I often wondered how you did not attract the raccoons.🐼 I think I told you my husband has trapped a number of them and I don’t even put any food out. Oh my, I will think of you and Bette Davis every time I see a coon, lol! Mrs. Doolittle to the rescue!👉

Busy day with mom, in and out of the car, church and stores. Mom walks pretty slow so she usually stays in the car unless we are at the hair salon, ha, ha. So I got my exercise for the week.

Good evening and I hope this Good Friday is a nice one for you.
I understand about your mother she has to take her time. 😘💕

Well no racoons tonight and husband is on racoon patrol. We will call the County
to see if they can do something about this. We just started having issues in the
last year but nothing this bad. I mean the Critter charged at the cat and the cat
never saw it coming he was eating. The minute he was aware of who was there
he ran so fast I could not believe it.

Everything was calm and the Black and White cat came back to get fresh food.
I watched him go to his safe place. 💕😎

My niece was laughing on the phone as she heard everything. 😎

I am going to wish you a nice evening. 😘💕Oh how do your sister feels about

      @oodiebom,

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie how are things going for you today?
I know you have a lot on your plate it can be a bit overwhelming at times.

How is your husband doing? No worries he will lose the weight fast I am sure he wants
      to come home. 🎈💕😎

I did enjoy Heidi Daus Visit and I look forward to seeing her again. Oodie I have
spent over 20 odd years on HSN. 🎈💕This month I have said to all the girls here is the
10th year anniversary of my thread. 🎈💕So all the fashion and makeup is a part of this
thread so are my songs. 😎

Oodie check in when you can I am very concerned about Xango I don’t want to have to
be worried about you and that is because of your food allergy. I have been reacting to our
high pollen count here in OZ the headaches are a PITA.

Moving forward OZ is alright a bit cool but we have the Sun. 😎🎈😘

So sad about the bridge in Baltimore. My friend who lives across the street have lived
in there and she knows that Bridge like the back of her hand. The professor was born in
Washington, DC and lived in Philly as well. Prayers to all the families affected.

      @sheba2011

Hi. It is a cloudy day here with showers, though have not heard a drop as yet. Temp is 72, but tonight’s temp rattles me in the low 50s. Problem will be “what to wear” when I leave here to visit hubby. I may wear a long sleeved sweater and bring a jacket. It is windy and yes, my sinuses are brutal on a day like today. I just took the meds for the beginning of a sinus migraine. This worries hubby because I am behind the wheel.

I am concerned with hubby’s eating habits. I bought a large pizza last night and if I didn’t stop him, he probably would have eaten the entire thing. I have a funny suspicion that his brain isn’t working properly on watching his diet. When I arrived he had just finished eating an entire dinner and was drinking milk. I usually eat with him since I do not particularly care for dining when I arrive home. It’s too late. Like most times after 10pm.

I was unable to watch HD yesterday, but did so when I arrived home. Wow!!! What a show. I hemmed and hawed over the elephant bracelet and decided to purchase. Then the matching necklace which I turned down because it looked so large. But, it was gorgeous with the aurora borealis and the size wasn’t too overpowering, so ordered that as well. Like Frank Sinatra, I have blue eyes, so anything in the blue family makes my eyes pop. This will also remind me of our trip to Bangkok many years ago. I was supposed to ride an elephant during this visit, but it was scratched due to me passing out on the airplane ride. I took the medication on an empty stomach and had a real bad reaction. Thankfully, there was an MD on board who gave the stewardess an extract of snake venom and some other ingredients that brought me back to normal. I was able to enjoy the rest of the flight and the meal they served. Loved Asian life and learning their customs. Bangkok was so different from China. Even the food which I make from time to time.

Well, it’s getting late and I need to do at least one load of laundry before heading to the rehab.
The dishwasher will arrive a week from tomorrow due to the holiday and because the children have this week as a break. So now the kitchen is at a slower pace, but at least it’s getting done.
I’m doing not only the kitchen but the dining area as well. Since I have very little counter space I bought a cart that can hold up to 500lbs. I will be using that cart for the small appliances , thus giving me the extra counter space. I also freed up an upper shelf in a closet. Wonder when Joy will bring in “Clean Boss” again. I am now running low.

Have a great day. Stay warm. Enjoy the moon. May xango be OK. I am really concerned.

Shoelady naming you Mrs Doolittle is funny cause we all know it’s the Queen (ShebaDaus) haha.
You don’t have to tell her. 🙂

      Happy Birthday Mariah Carey 🎈😎

      Butterfly
      Song by Mariah Carey

When you love someone so deeply
      They become your life
It’s easy to succumb to overwhelming fears inside
      Blindly I imaged I could
      Keep you under glass
Now I understand to hold you
      I must open my hands
      And then watch you rise
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
      Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly
      I have learned that beauty
Has to flourish in the light
      Wild horses run unbridled
      Or their spirit dies
You have given me the courage
To be all that I can
And I truly feel your heart will
Lead you back to me when you’re
      Ready to land
      I can’t pretend these tears
      Aren’t overflowing steadily
I can’t prevent this hurt from
      Almost overtaking me
But I will stand and say goodbye
      For you’ll never be mine
Until you know the way it feels to fly
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
Oh, fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me (I will know you’re mine)
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly, butterfly (My butterfly)
So spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
Oh, fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly (spread your wings and fly)
      Butterfly (fly)
      So flutter through the sky
      Butterfly
      Spread your wings and fly
      Butterfly

      Vision of Love
      Song by Mariah Carey

      Treated me kind
      Sweet destiny
      Carried me through desperation
To the one that was waiting for me
      It took so long
      Still I believed
Somehow, the one that I needed
      Would find me eventually
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
      Prayed through the nights
      Felt so alone
      Suffered from alienation
Carried the weight on my own
      Had to be strong
      So I believed
And now I know I’ve succeeded
In finding the place I conceived
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given me
      I’ve realized a dream
      And I visualized
The love that came to be
      Feel so alive
I’m so thankful that I’ve received
The answer that heaven has sent down to me
      You treated me kind (yeah)
Sweet destiny (and you know that you did)
      And I’ll be eternally grateful
Holding you so close to me (prayed through the nights)
Prayed through the nights (so faithfully)
      So faithfully (faithfully)
Knowing the one that I needed
Would find me eventually (he would find me)
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you turned out to be, yeah, mmm

Sheba, Watched what I could of Heidi Daus, when she was with host Valerie. I thought they were paired well and the presentations were great. Why don’t they have her at HSN more? Anyways I know you were watching and loving all the shows.
It will take a while to deal with the squirrel accident. It also amazes me how the squirrels and bunnies run out in front of me, almost at my feet, when walking or hiking. When a coyote is around the gophers all go underground and make a warning chirping sound to the others.
Love the eggs. Went to the Coach Museum on the last trip. It was very good.

Ran to the store to pick up a few things for mom. Stopping tomorrow for a little while to get her mail and will be there most of the day Friday.

Getting ready to warm up some leftover meatloaf and cook some rice for dinner. I hope mom is eating, she weighs only 90 lbs. Sis always leaves her plenty of easy to make food but she does get picky.

Within the world of art and luxury, the name Fabergé resonates as a symbol of exquisite craftsmanship and unparalleled opulence. Originating from the renowned House of Fabergé in Imperial Russia, Fabergé Eggs are more than just intricate masterpieces; they encapsulate a legacy of innovation, creativity, and royal patronage that has left an indelible mark on the world of fine art.

These famous eggs, born from the hands of skilled artisans, stand as the ultimate amalgamation of artistry and luxury, embodying a bygone era of extravagance and artful design. The House of Fabergé, under the visionary leadership of Peter Carl Fabergé, not only crafted exquisite pieces of jewelry but also elevated these creations to the level of objets d’art, setting a standard that remains unparalleled.

With a legacy that spans over a century, Fabergé Eggs hold a unique place in the annals of art history. These meticulously crafted treasures serve as timeless reminders of the craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail that characterized the Gilded Age. Each egg is a testament to the House’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of creativity while adhering to the highest standards of quality.

Fabergé Eggs are more than adornments; they are reflections of the aspirations, desires, and affections of those who commissioned and received them. The opulent creations of Fabergé Eggs transcend mere aesthetics, embodying intricate narratives and personal connections. From the remarkable “Hen Egg,” which Emperor Alexander III presented to Empress Maria Feodorovna in 1885, to the intricate “Imperial Coronation Egg” that celebrated a pivotal moment in Russian history, each egg is a historical capsule that offers insight into the lives of the elite and the events that shaped their world.

Intricacy defines Fabergé Eggs, as each one is a symphony of precious metals, dazzling gemstones, and meticulous enameling. The House’s artisans spared no effort in crafting these treasures, investing countless hours in perfecting every minute detail. Beyond their opulent exteriors, Fabergé Eggs often concealed hidden surprises, ingeniously designed to delight and astonish their recipients.

As we journey through the captivating world of Fabergé Eggs, we unravel not only the opulence and extravagance that defined an era but also the profound craftsmanship that continues to capture imaginations today. The House’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity and elevating jewelry to the realm of high art has left an enduring legacy that remains as captivating as ever. Fabergé Eggs are not mere relics; they are testaments to the fusion of artistry, luxury, and innovation that transcends time and continues to mesmerize generations.

Founded in 1842 in St. Petersburg, Russia, by the skilled goldsmith Gustav Fabergé, the House of Fabergé swiftly gained prominence for its exceptional creations. However, it was Peter Carl Fabergé, Gustav’s son, who elevated the house to international acclaim. Appointed as the official goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court in 1885, Peter Carl Fabergé’s creations, especially the Fabergé Eggs, would become iconic symbols of the Romanov dynasty’s lavish tastes.

The Imperial Connection: Eggs Fit for Royalty
Fabergé Eggs gained particular significance within the Russian Imperial Family. Emperor Alexander III commissioned the first Fabergé Egg as an Easter gift for his wife, Empress Maria Feodorovna. The egg, known as the “Hen Egg,” was crafted to open and reveal a golden yolk containing a delicate golden hen with a miniature crown and pendant. This initial creation laid the foundation for an annual tradition, with the Imperial Family commissioning unique eggs as Easter gifts, each encapsulating intricate themes and surprises.

The Fabergé Eggs were not merely exquisite ornaments; they were expressions of affection and artistry that celebrated significant moments in the lives of the imperial family. Each egg was imbued with layers of symbolism and personal touches that reflected the unique personalities and relationships within the Romanov dynasty.

Enduring Legacy: From Imperial Treasures to Global Icons
The legacy of Fabergé Eggs endured through tumultuous times. The Russian Revolution led to the downfall of the Romanov dynasty and the dispersion of the Imperial Eggs. Many of these remarkable creations found their way into private collections, while others were acquired by museums and institutions around the world.

The Fabergé Eggs, once treasured by royalty, became objects of fascination for collectors, enthusiasts, and connoisseurs worldwide. Their rarity and historical significance fueled a global quest to preserve these intricate works of art. Fabergé Eggs held an intrinsic allure, not only for their exquisite craftsmanship but also for their role as tangible connections to a vanished era of splendor and grandeur.
